Unless the 3 different arts of Dark Magician Girl count as the last two spots.
no skull servant… i guess in a way im happy… QCR of any 3 of are going to we silly money but.. oof… he’s an original Yami Yugi card, as OG as it gets… even made an appearance in yugi and kaibas first ever duel… gonna go drown my sorrows in some whole cream milk.
We need a Waboku reprint asap.
why though?
How many rarity versions of Waboku do we even have? I think maybe a Rare? It’s a fun and silly card(and is a funny way to annoy the opponent).
Waboku has DT Normal Parallel Rare, DT Technology Common, Common, and Mosiac Rare (DT means Duel Terminal) so ya 4 different rarities if you count a DT Tech common with a regular common
Duel Terminal is surprisingly hard to find, and not a usual rarity. So a reprint in a more common set makes sense on its own for simply being accessible.
That said, it probably wouldn’t be in here considering the order of the cards. Either way, still would be nice to see a far easier to get version. There’s a ton of cards who could use easier to access reprints. And that’s for those who were only released in Tournament Packs that are simply hard to find alone(Speed Duels somewhat fixed this). But then you got the World Championship Pack cards which were really stupid ways to release them into the TCG. Let’s hope they do more nostalgia pools just to make stuff easier to find for everyone. And no, they don’t need to be good cards to justify it. Though with the high prices for a box of this, yeah, this set should be best used for more noteworthy cards. There’s tons of other cheaper side stuff for nostalgic things too to get reprints or even quick imports(I.E. Number Hunters).
or you can just buy singles and basically get a playset for under $5
Orrrrrrr… you can realize people don’t want to shell out money for some specialized rare when they actually want to see a nostalgic card that they like in a nostalgia set. It’s not some rocket science. They aren’t interested in Duel Terminal. They want nostalgia in… nostalgia.
Duel Terminal is also not something that has infinite prints or anything like that either. Also, if you did the research, the price for the DT Waboku are 7 dollars to 20 dollars a piece(in fact, some sell ’em at a ridiculous price of 50 dollars. And that’s just for DT03. Besides that, the special HAC1 version still has a lot of shipping, so you aren’t going to get it under 5 dollars even at its cheapest. Because while it sounds like it’s under 5 dollars, the shipping automatically throws it to near 10. And that’s only if enough of them are actually low enough. However, the limited copies are notably, and it actually comes out to 10.82 minimum. So no matter what, your pricing is not well-researched in any way. Did you only look at one price or something? Instead of the number of copies even purchasable?? Besides that, and here’s something key and notable;
That said, HA in general are cheaper printings of DT, mainly because they are simply easier to find, something that was released just so everybody else can get something at a halfway decent price. DT and cheap are not a realistic thing not has ever really been. Nor are they supposed to be. They’re the original prints and Hidden Arsenal are the cheap versions.
Goat, TeleDAD, and Edison players are eating good rn. Bring me back to playing Yugioh 5ds 2009 Stardust Accelerator.
Literally none of the banned/chase cards that goat and edison format desperately needed.
So disappointing.
Oh, the good ol’ times when i was playing Geargia Karakuri on Locals 😄
Why haven’t the evil or live twins get 25th anniversary cards they were part of the chronicles i was hoping for the alt arts to be the last two cards.
Gooner.
Anyone knows the last 2?
Will probably be something from Maze based on the set list, or at least something from that time on.
Probably new Dark Magician support I reckon.
No Light End Dragon ? Maybe a card edited twice, last in 2014, doesn’t deserve contrary to REBD BEWD and DM(G)…
Light End Dragon has never seen any meta play. Compare to Dark End, Light End is garbage.
and? that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get reprinted
You can literally get the card for dirt cheap online. Stop your whining.
Yes like all others cards of this set, LADD receives news cards, Dark End and LADD are reprints, I can ask for a reprint of Light End no ?
Don’t pay attention to the troll.
Any card can be a fun reprint. Even if it’s not meta. By not being meta, its chances are pretty low, though, sadly.
I heard the EU branch is asking what cards they want for the bonanza ? (To which everyone was saying air NEOS)
It could be those cards or it could not. I don’t know if them asking for suggestions are true
Air neos without Hummingbird? They’re not reprinting that card for whatever reason. CEOs wife probably for him.
What are talking about? Theres a Dark Paladin yet no Buster Blader, also theres a Flame Wingman reprint but no Avian nor Burstinatrix, furthermore, theres a Thunder Giant and no Clayman nor Sparkman, also also also, theres a Gyzarus and no other Glad Beast.
Dustshoot & royal oppression to the moon
Snake-eye deck will be cheaper. Picking it before komoney kills it
Wonder when Chronicle Sorceress will finally get an English print.
Also I love seeing Graceful Charity and Dimension Fusion get printed here.
I am surprised she hasn’t been printed yet when she is in Duel Links of all places. Maybe a legal dispute?
Fingers still crossed for that Soul Charge…
I have so many of that lol
Nice Abyss Shark is in here. I can build sharks now without costing too much now. 15-20 a piece was a little crazy.
Wait. Imperial Order is not ban ?
It’s a nostalgia reprint. Those contained cards that are currently or intend to stay banned. Stuff in the first part aren’t banned, period. And obviously won’t be on the next list(and possibly not even the one after).
it’s more for older formats (like Edison or Goat) plus they are nostalgic
…Those aren’t actual official Konami formats. They have their own(mostly unused) formats like Time Wizard, etc. It’s for those kind.
They don’t care about fan formats, since it doesn’t do anything for them. These are also for boxes and stuff that get very high prices(Rarity Collection and Gold Series are really damn expensive, even sometimes just a mini-box. The full display case is ridiculous, especially after they completely destroyed the latest Gold designs by making many of them terribly done simple Rares. It’s cheaply made, and also an excuse to ban a lot of cards that are quickly thrown in, regardless of a weak rarity or not). They aren’t selling to people who want to play older formats. They’re selling to classic fans with that kind of stuff for formats of which many of these cards are legal(I.E. Generational Format). It’s really the only one to start getting use out of those ideas, by selling to fans cards specifically made for it.
Konami won’t support fan stuff at any point unless they intend to directly market the idea as their own(which, well, they have past formats anyway). It’s all about money. They don’t get money by selling cheap stuff to people who don’t play in their OTS formats. Hence, as I said, this is highly expensive as a set. You can’t find it very cheap. The prices have mostly been cheap only for Structures/Starters and at most Speed Duel stuff. Expecting anything else to be fairly cheap is laughable and against their money-making design. …And it works. It’s why they continue to make crazy cards to sell. If we get Rush Duels fully in the TCG as a full variant(unlike Speed Duels which is partially TCG regular) later on, they’ll be a bit cheaper too than regular TCG boxes/etc.
though it does help as some older cards people can use from them are VERY expensive especially for the rarity hounds
Irene is a moron. Time Wizard formats are heavily supported and also the exact same thing as the fan formats. The literal only difference is the name – Goat Format being called “Time Wizard July 2005 Format” doesn’t make it not Goat Format. This is because these “fan formats” are just actual formats from the game’s past, using card pools and banlists from the time period. Nothing different or special about them, it’s just playing the game as it was back then.
Believe it or not, Yu-Gi-Oh!’s sealed product prices are actually cheaper than most TCGs. Even a full booster box doesn’t approach the triple digits, unless its one of these sets, and the other Rarity Collections. Every company selling a product wants money. And Konami will make their money on this set.
>”They aren’t selling to people who want to play older formats. They’re selling to classic fans with that kind of stuff for formats of which many of these cards are legal”
I don’t even know what point is being made here? Everyone knows GOAT and Edison aren’t actually Konami endorsed formats, but they’ve released cards for older formats before, banned in Advanced Format, because it actually does make them money. Okay, so they have their own Time Wizard formats. That does not change the reason for them releasing older cards.
>If we get Rush Duels fully in the TCG as a full variant(unlike Speed Duels which is partially TCG regular) later on, they’ll be a bit cheaper too than regular TCG boxes/etc.
How do you know this? My understanding is if they want Money, they’ll short print chase cards, and capitilize on Over RUSH rare stuff.
Rush Duels were designed to be a cheaper alternative. Speed Duels are just like that, albeit a paper version of Duel Links but somewhat more useful to TCG players due to nostalgia reasons. So yes, they’ll be blatantly cheaper… if they actually decide to do them, anyway. Duel Links covers Rush Duels, so they might not bother at all. It’s more product for them to sell, but Speed Duels is already forced to go into a third version(they revised their design once before, taking a hiatus. They’re just doing it again).
Anyway, OTS stores can only run official tourneys. Non-OTS stores get less product in the long run. Thus, any stores that cannot become OTS actually makes Konami less money(even if it’s by their own choice, they still take this model at the end of the day). Fan tourneys make less money because of this. This is why they aren’t really making it for a fan tourney, but their own formats. Because if people played them more as intended, more OTS stores could exist. Which makes Konami more money. Which means they can justify putting out more product.
It’s not really hard to see the problem. Fan tourneys do not help Konami nor ever will. They can’t. They weaken product flow in reality. And I know this because I directly was told that non-OTS stores are shorted product because Konami can’t really do enough with said store. They can’t control the formats or rulings. It’s basic common sense.
Also, the fact we had Traditional before any of this shows they already were catering to different formats. OCG didn’t have this either(which is part of the reason they started changing card texts to unban them. That’s their only official way to play said card). Konami made more formats to be fun for different eras of players. Also, something not noted above is that OTS Product is obviously specific to OTS Stores. This is more product a Store gets and endorses, getting more players for specific reprints in high rarities. That said, not all care about reprints(which is fine and all), but it just means that some stores won’t be getting the product you want. It all ties into a supply and demand thing anyway. Besides, it’s easy to start to see their change in OTS Packs. Now that players don’t care enough about Konami’s own nostalgia-type tourneys, there’s even less reason to print nostalgia product. Hence, the reprints are hard catered to the latest meta in the regular TCG formats. Which is only for big players. Yes, it’s not great for some.
That said, if they didn’t have Traditional or those other formats, you wouldn’t be getting these nostalgia reprints anyway. You’d only get whatever was newest etc. Cause it’s the only thing that matters. Fan tourney format players are simply lucky that Konami wanted to appeal their company’s own formats from the start, creating a more fun environment by giving more than one type of player a way to play officially, earning them more product options. That’s all there is to it. Yes, it’s a lot to explain. But it’s still how it really goes.
>”Rush Duels were designed to be a cheaper alternative…”
No, they were not. Prices for Rush and OCG products are the same. They were designed as a different game altogether. If it was a cheaper alternative, they would rid the booster pack/rarity system too.
>”Now that players don’t care enough about Konami’s own nostalgia-type tourneys, there’s even less reason to print nostalgia product. Hence, the reprints are hard catered to the latest meta in the regular TCG formats.”
He says on the page for a product where Nostalgia cards have literally been reprinted? Seriously, what is the point you are trying to make here? Did you have like ChatGPT write this because it got monotonous reading it and most of it is making no sense.
no memento reprints RIP
That’s because they needed space for Dark Magician reprints for their new structure deck next year
Soul Servant being a needed reprint
They only constantly release cards like that for their actual formats they endorse. Don’t kid yourself into thinking they care about those fan versions. And no excuse makes it true. Everybody knows they only make money because they’re trying to endorse their own formats.
If those formats didn’t exist for themselves, they wouldn’t even bother with these because it wouldn’t sell at all. These nostalgia reprints aren’t actually cheap to get due to the mass prices they put on Rarity collections(and even stuff that are terribly done like the latest Gold Series. At least the Rarity collections are somewhat justified in having a high price). If they were going for anything “legitimately cheap”, they’d actually be very quick and easy to grab commons. That’s what actual Structure Decks are for, and the reprints are only actually existing not for older formats, but for current popular decks they can easily get extra money off of. And those are still overprinted(somewhat ironically), so there’s a ton of decks nobody really wants anymore since there’s nothing to gain at that point. That’s why you see some old decks in stores that are always there. They don’t need to generally be restocked. They also can’t sell strictly on older formats(the ones they actually sanction. And no, your special tourneys don’t count. If they’re fan-made, Konami doesn’t care nor ever will) either, because they need new product to sell otherwise the game dies.
It’s again, not rocket science. These are for their own formats and always will be. It’s just deluding yourself if you think otherwise. The fact anybody latches on them for non-sanctioned tourney is purely icing on the cake for Konami, so it happens to work out. Besides that, keep in mind that even the big anniversary reprint sets are not cheap. They’re highly expensive even still. There is no real such thing as “quick and cheap reprints” anymore(besides Structures at most. And they can’t really do much with those beyond supporting an older archtype they want to beef up again since it’s popular in almost any of their formats. Iconicness runs wild).
And we did see the trademark for Rush Duel’s English stuff. In addition, it’s already in English in Duel Links, so yes, it’s already effectively part of the States. Just not as a paper product yet. We also know that Rush Duels’ anime has a dub as well. Of course they’re going to print them there. And yes, obviously they’re going to short print stuff. That’s a given.
(Also to reply to the above, Mementos are in the most current sets. They’re kind of easy to find and don’t need the reprint right now).
bro all you have to say is you don’t like yugioh anymore, jesus christ…
So many missing reprints.
Where is Maxx “C” ?
And this set proves Konami hates Pendulum…
Maxx “C” is in the next Speed Duel set though would be nice here
So you give us the God Cards instead of Air Neos. 4Shame.
God cards getting new support
Do you guys think that Konami actually listened to our poll? Genuinely curious about your thoughts.
To the point:
Time wizard formats do hurt yugioh in the long run because they are closed formats and you can’t upsell people.
Is just a couple of reprints sets away from being completely unprofitable. How many times you can reprint Edison cards before sales plummet?
Konami is barely supporting time wizard. Is just a side event despite it being a “ycs”. By encouragint stores to run edison tournaments instead of advanced tournaments, they are literally quitting the incentive to buy new cards, is counter productive.
They also have no incentive as per speed duels sales data. That’s why they discountinued it, until they can decide wht to do with alt formats, including rush duel.
Most people complaining on internet about modern ygo is people who can’t afford meta decks and that barely buys product unless they can get “free” money in every pack like Rarity collections or gold series.
At that point, you are trying to cater to non paying customers in what would be a risky movement where you try to monetize those guys (with a low upsell potential) at the cost of losing advanced format players.
Also, if you want a custom ygo experience, just grab friends and make a drafting cube for kitchen yugioh formats.
Is funnier, healthier and more productive that complaining endlessly on internet about anything: konami doscountinuing speed duels, rush duel not on paper, meta cards being expensive, etc.
yup if tired of the meta just do older formats to get away from it
