        sooner or later you won’t be able to calamity lock anymore. Calamity’s already banned in MD and OCG, TCG’s probably (hopefully) next.

        Because it’s an anime reference card and nothing more.
        The real benefit of this monster is that you don’t need an active Field Spell to keep it on the field and it has a decently high ATK.

        A way to cheat out our EI beatsticks and Red Nova Dragon. I’m not sure why people are complaining? As far as I see this is pretty decent card.

        Long hyped? This wasn’t even a monster card and I haven’t heard him mentioned since the episode itself aired. Mostly everyone was annoyed by the retcons more than anything else.

        Wait, why is this underwhelming? Can cheat out an Earthbound Immortal or Red Nova Dragon from your Deck or Extra Deck and you don’t even have to summon it. Also searchable in both Did you even read the card? This is pretty good for the Decks it supports

        Don’t you know, DudeDudesky? If the singular card doesn’t fix every single issue the deck has by itself and fails to warps the game around it, it’s a terrible card.

        Clorless was kinda cool but it forced you to play a brick that never does anything in Dark World, making the deck less consistent for an endboard that would’ve been good without clorless anyway

        We already knew that when statue was revealed by itself. Nevermind the hounds aren’t part of Chrono’s playstyle.

        The Hounds would have been Arc-V cards and there are literally no slots for them. Maybe wait for next year for Double and Triple, I imagine Konami doesn’t want to touch Ultimate for a while because “Halve LP in a battle oriented deck”.

        Given the Imperial Dragon they revealed yesterday is part of an archetype that references the Gem Dragons from DM/GX, my money is on the lone card being Rebecca’s Diamond Head Dragon for synergy.

        Diamonhead Dragon isn’t a normal monster. Rebecca’s Ruby Dragon is though. I would prefer Ocean of Regeneration being released instead.

        I think this card is going to be a Para/Dox card due to this set liking to support legacy anime themes from the past year. Of those, probably Defense Wall but modified to now support Gate Guardian.

      Servants technically got support with this just hate that its gotta use a card from in your hand or field and isnt just a starter on its own

        As much as I hate to say it, it requires you to send a Earthbound ”Immortal”. Such a small thing, but it makes all the difference.

        I mean, Servants could already happily tech Chacu Challhua for it playing into their burn playstyle, so at worst this just gives them an additional reason to run Earthbound Immortal Free Willy?

        Of course, they can also make Level 8 Synchros pretty easily, so if they can afford to squeeze it in they could use Red Dragon Archfiend (and/or Scarred Dragon Archfiend, given it’s usable for this guy too) instead of Chacu.

        I suppose at the very least we can say that Earthbound Servants at least have options regarding trying to use this?

      Given the Earthbound and RDA support over the past year, and Soul Fist also being in here, I am not shocked this is printed now.

      I’m guessing the last card is Zorc Necrophades, sad that it will be terrible since both this card and clorless are terrible.

        Nah.
        Zorc is for a Main Set. He’s the main vilain of DM. Watch it being printed being the final boss monster of a “Diabound” archetype.

        The won’t make a Diabound Archtype, they would just give use retrains of the monsters or ka(s) bakura used in the eyptian arc, stuff like illushu n skeleton fiend.

      If this summoned “a ‘nova dragon’ card” or even just used the sent card as synchro material (so you could use scarred ‘s raigeki) it would actually be solid for RDA, as is it just opens up the possibility of swapping an RDA into geo kraken/gryphon

      Kinda a shame that it doesn’t have the direct attack effect tho I guess since it’s really meant to be used as a hand trap it’s not that much of a shame.

      Why does it want you to send an EI? They were never designed to be more than one of them in a deck. EI aren’t supposed to be a collective deck.

      I remember hoping this would be a thing during 5D’s and I’m really surprised it is now. I’m surprised it became a support card instead of a boss in its own right, but that’s cool too. A neat concept and I’m glad it’s a real card now!

      Look, I get this card is actually pretty good in terms of gameplay, but it’s still an utter letdown to us anime fans. They could’ve at least given us SOME incentive to SUMMON the blasted thing. Keep its current effect as is, but add something like, “Unaffected by Spell/Trap Cards and effects” and “Gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all FIRE and DARK monsters in your GY.” Maybe a burn effect as a reward for battling with it!

      This is just… pathetic. It’s literally nothing more than an engine piece. There’s no reason to put EBI Red Nova on the field whatsoever, outside of flexing or the rare situation where putting it on the field is the only way you’ll win because all of your BETTER field presence cards are gone.
