Would be cool if they also add a Ra variant that works with this archetype, like that one Blue-Eyes for Exodia
Ooh, I’d love that! We might even get a version of Ra that’s usable too!
I doubt it to be honest. if they did I hope they print something with protection or something that searches one of the many support cards
that’s what I was expecting, cause odion used a fake winged dragon of ra
What we really need is manga accurate retrains/erratas of the 3 cards. Konami needs to bite the bullet and realize their 3 “tribute 3” are dog even with whatever support they can come up with.
Those are the only cards, theres nothing else
So who wants to negate a ton with Apophis the Swamp Deity. That new trap and fusion makes 5 negates easily. By only using the one. Summon it, set Swamp, Contact, add Embodiment, Fusion set the 2 in grave and set embodiment. Chain all 3, negate 2, then set a Swamp that you can activate and negate 3 more. Anubis is a not-quite-god, and a not-quite-That-Anubis.
Ok but it does all that on turn 3 because you can’t activate Serpent the turn you set it, so it might as well not do it at all. Unless you play the OG Temple which is a brick.
sky striker bedge did NOT read temple of kings
Daniel did NOT read my comment
Perfect
>and players like me who used her cards as a deck
Lmao you literally cannot even make a comprehensive deck with her cards besides Reversal of Graveyard nonsense that would only work efficiently with other engines anyway.
It was supposed to be an engine to begin with that’s why you can discard any EARTH Fairies for their effects so they could work with the around the same time released Vernusylphs.
Someone hasn’t watched Last Card Standing Season 2, episode 2.
So….. how do we implement ra in this deck?
You banish Ra with the Main Deck Serket after you search the Field Spell.
not a RA expert, but it seems that adding RA is a gimmick, better stick to the trap monsters control IMO
You banish it with Merciless Scorpion of Serket and summon it back with Dangers of the Divine.
It’s finally here!
These are very cool, but I was expecting them to be more synergy with trap cards and trap monsters decks in general, I think it could have been a very cool engine, instead of a closed archetype. If there was a way to search Temple of the Kings without committing your normal summon it would have been great
I’m glad you didn’t get what you wanted. This concept of engines is so infuriating. You people used ishizu like a common wh*re, till she was destroyed by the banlist, now you moved on, and players like me who used her cards as a deck rather than an engine can no longer do so because everything is banned due to being an “engine”.
the cards were broken in their own right. Instead of thinking of the neclosed cards they should think of the game as a whole when printing new junk- but the ishizu deck on its own with exchange of spirit and all that was freaking awesome, very original and cool stuff
True nigg what a weirdly aggressive rant to go on, specially against a *ninja player*, not exactly meta. And frankly Ishizu’s cards were absolutely broken in their own right, blame Konami for making them that way, along with a cancerous deck like tearlaments, not the players
You could try an Allure Queen engine to cheat Mark out.
blame konami rnd they are the ones designing the cards.
Merciless ***Scorpion***
> is a fairy
?????
Named after a scorpion god, hence its look.
The Eye of Wdjat would have made it an Illusion Monster hadn’t it been a legacy support.
For now they are heavily reliant on Man with the Mark and Temple of the Kings, but this is otherwise a decent start. Hopefully we get more support for them in the OCG next year especially with Apophis Traps already being very rare.
A little disappointed they went with Fusion instead of Ritual for Serket.
It’s TCG, the make fusions and move on.
Gate Guardian, Flame Swordsman, and now this. Not to mention randomly adding fusions to Ashened.
@ScionStorm, I can see why, though.
Because they’re Extra Deck Monsters, Fusions are easier to store and access than Rituals are. It just makes things more streamlined.
Ritual(s) probably would have made more sense aesthetically, but Fusions are more practical, especially in instances like these.
@Boredandconfused
Not sure what’s up with this thought process. Them being TCG World Premieres have nothing to do with why those themes got Fusions. Gate Guardians got Fusions because Gate Guardian and its Sanga/Suijin form are conceptually Fusion Monsters. Flame Swordsman got Fusions in reference to Flame Swordsman itself being a Fusion. And Ashened got Fusion because why the heck not. Nothing about their 1st wave said they couldn’t get Fusions down the line. And so they did get some in their 2nd wave. Simple as that.
Odion!Deck got Fusions probably because it’s easier to incorporate them as pillars of support/bosses this way. Rituals would have been more aesthetically appropriate, perhaps. But they also would have been harder to make cohesively work. So they went with Fusions. And that’s fine. That’s a fine, fair design choice that works well enough.
well considering the OG Temple of the Kings (while errata’d) can summon Fusion Monsters with its effect, that shouldn’t have shocked anybody
Fusion is lore accurate, temple of the Kings Summons a fusion and doesn’t ignore summoning conditions so rituals wouldn’t make sense.
The extra deck is needed as Serket isn’t supposed to be a physical card to begin with, then again, it’s the same case with rituals!
Very upset nothing capitalized off of the Other temple of kings effect. Beast of serket + temple of kings was one of the coolest things ygo had can’t lie
It’s understandable. Temple cheating out any monster from Deck or Fusion would be too good if the new Serket is treated as the original.
Only 2 traps in what’s supposed to be a trap archetype? I’m so sad.
However, I do love the counter trap, and the continuous one is good too.
I wish you could search anubis traps too.
this is so freaking cool and gimmicky. In the next wave they ought to get more traps, but ig konami wants us to use the trap monsters we already have as help
Finally Serket is retrained. Been wanting this for years. Should have been a ritual though to be anime accurate.
So I’m probably gonna be the odd one out and say did those other two monsters have to be Fusions? Personally I think those could’ve been higher level effect monsters for the main deck.
Yes. We don’t need more do-nothing cards in the Main Deck.
probably to make room for main deck splashables like staples and engines. in short, ratio purposes
I wish Duel Monsterd and GX era artists would return.
and may the next ones be the Wicked gods
Please be cheap deck Please

Triggering trap cards is cool, but what if we put red seals on them and then they retriggered. And then we had Pareidolia and Sock and Buskin too, so then they get retriggered again. And what if we had photograph so that the first played trap card gives x2 mult. And then what if we had a blueprint copying the Sock and Buskin.
Cup of Sealed Soul was RIGHT THERE. Instead they went with the boring ass “Defense of the Temple”
they’ll probably sneak it in some set like Japan did with Dark Guardian after they got the Gate Guardian cards over there.
@morphinejar Dark Guardian came out like 1 year after the Gate Guardian Maze set… so if Odion gets a second wave I assume we will be waiting a long time?
If you have Insect invitation and use Reprodocus to change your “temple” monster to Insect, you could fuse away 3 of their monsters with the fusion spell. Takes multiple cards but would be funny.
I am going to play this 100%. Any deck that wasn’t too broken and fun to play is my favorite. As long as they are good on both going 1st and 2nd
So… what’s the tl;dr plan here?
Also, I hope next will be PaniK’s monsters. I think he and lol Bonez are the only two notable DM-era characters that got zero love. Notably for some strange reasons in actual game Castle of Dark Illusions is support for Zombies (Panik’s monsters are Fiends) and is supported by Pumpking.
The plan is to target anime audiences with the Odion/Kaiba/Mizar stuff and sell inexpensive reprints/staples to the player base.
Agreed! Also don’t forget Valon’s Armor monsters. Ditto also on the rest of Raphael’s Guardian cards, Alistair’s Air Fortress Ziggurat, Vivian Wong’s Dragon Lady. And the rest of Dartz’s Orichalicos cards, the rest of the Big 5’s unique cards, the rest of Leon and Zigfried’s cards, and a playable version of Plasma Eel. I could go on the rest of the DM and GX eras anime only cars that should be real.
Cough cough Orichalcos…
I hate nerds
Spam snake traps, hope you’ll win.
yeah a cool gimmicky archetype around panik and his veil of shadows would be awesome. I hope they keep the awkward stat lines,or maybe even make it a flip archetype in order to copy the hidden in shadows sort of theme
I am confused what is the focus of these new cards.
The focus is Temple of the Kings
to play and have fun in a casual sense, what else would it be.
I was jokingly thinking about lore-accurate Judgment of Anubis as I was scrolling down and then my jaw dropped! Even for that time, not wording it work against bounce was absurd.
I don’t have many gripes. A bit of flavor failure that Serket, and not temple, is the thing that banishes Ra. Don’t worry, when it comes to counterfeit Ra the ocg has that nailed down to a T. Pretty tired of spells using Super Fusion’s gimmick. Speaking of which, that cheese is common enough that the Sangenshin should have a “cannot be tributed or used as material for a special summon that requires materials except by its controller” clause.
The main thing that’s missing is Serket gaining counters for each monster it consumes, being able to be treated as a tribute equal to the counters but I get they’d run out of text box space. Overall, I’m thrilled after Rishid got stuck with just one promo during the earth fairy craze. Mask support next year? Tcg naming issues not my problem.
Well none of this is your problem, OCG guy, you’re not getting these cards until September
Wow these Odion cards look pretty good! Great to see him get a whole deck finally. Now all we need is Ishizu’s broken cards to get a errata where you can only activate earth fairy monsters the turn you use their effects, and then all is right in the world.
PS: I suggested that errata so they can come off the banlist.
Finally, someone with sense, all ishizu needs is an effect lock for monsters that are originally earth fairy. Originally, because you don’t want her getting screwed over by a single lair of darkness or zombie world that changes attribute/type.
did you even read the earth fiary ishizu archetype? they were Clearly not meant to be played pure. As much as we like to call out konami for being dumb the tearlaments ysnergy was totally intended, although they did not balance it well
@daniel
And time changes with what Konami wants, as ref look at the edit to Goyo Guardian. It is perfectly fine to ruin their ability from being used by other greedy meta decks.
Deck revolving around Exchange of the Spirits was not meant to run Exchange of the Spirits ???
I like how the deck has the ability to summon Ra but not fully utilise it as that partial function is a reference to Odion trying to summon the fake Ra in the anime and failing, nice little detaill!
I am moderately amused that, along with new Anubis cards and cards that involve banished Egyptian Gods, there are cards that accept Anubis’s monsters as acceptable targets. I look forward to the coming Odion-Nemleria-Sphinx meta.
Nice cards
… I wish they can make virus focused cards .. a few monsters/spells and some new virus traps would be awesome…
Alpha-Wave Emission Virus Field Spell and Vaccine are manga cards that still need to be released.
I do really like the new apophis trap monster. It gets you to swamp long apophis then you can make the new apophis fusion then set the two materials plus search of apophis. Seems like a fun loop of trap monster control. I wish there was another trap monster that played into that. I’ll probably pick up the cards and try this out at my locals.
Eldlich support, you say?
Also, cool to see that the guy who tooootally didn’t get punked by Joey’s plot armor got new stuff.
silhouhatte rabbit soon to be charged with insider trading
doesn’t seem particularly strong but looks really sticky and annoying, and there’s nothing here saying you can’t just do fiendsmith stuff on the side as well
I knew we would have a field letter but I didn’t expect
Treasures of the Kings is based on the original manga artwork of Temple of the Kings.
This is awesome and all, but… Alchemy Beasts / New Order when?
is this good to pair with traptrix?
Ra, Ra, Ra! No am not cheering. The Black reference is awesome but the card itself is useless in this series unless your making a Rah deck
Shouldn’t all these ancient monsters be Illusion type?
Konami already forgot it exists lmao
Great!
Temple of the Kings, Serket Monsters, and Apophis Trap Cards. How is this going to work ??
Oh and I forgot that RA also here
“If this card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 “Embodiment of Apophis” from your Deck to your hand.”, no…I don’t think I will
Great cards, possibly OP.
