Did you think even flames could stop a fullmetal overhaul.

SUDA-15 / 76 Primite Support?
You think slots 15 and 76 are more primite support?
I wonder if there’s going to be another wave of Six Sam support or anything else to support some of the themes from ROTA
No, it must be Vanquish Soul support. The time is ripe. Do what you must Konami.
It sure is another Max Metalmorph target, this time with a Red-eyes like burn effect. Still would rather see Red-eyes itself get support but you take what you can get
The trap is neat for using a spent Metal boss to get the other bosses but you’re likely not using the ones you didn’t summon anyway and at least those bosses are free trades for your other cards, while this is easily replacable.
This new trap makes Zoa the Fiendish Beast even more playable, making it tributable for Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon…
negate was a mistake
Actually no. Zoa doesnt say in the text max metalmorph but only metalmorph
@Why both of those zoa monsters have max metalmorph in their text or if you go anf see the ygorganization post from rota it’ll say enhanced metalmorph
Jeeeezys they really will bend spine over backwards just to find some new way to finger DM nostalgia no matter how convoluted.
This
“Nooo, not this! Nostalgia baaaad!”
“Nooo, not this! Waifus baaaad!”
“Nooo, not this! Robots/Dragons/Other mainstays of YGO aesthetics baaaad!!!”
Can you just people be honest for one second, say that you hate Yugioh and leave? You don’t need to be here, you can spend time on things you actually enjoy.
I mean Flame Swordsman’s new support does use Equip Spells and metalmorph already had Red-Eyes in it. It’s not that big of a leap.
*Equip cards not spells
Getting this before Heavymetal King is a little disappointing but it is what it is
Heavymetal King is relatively minor compared to Flame Swordsman.
Tistina bros it’s looking a bit over
Zera the Mant: Hello Konami I was the original Zera card and it’s be years since I got any new things while you make storylines around other versions of me. Can I get something new? Bandit Keith used me in the anime so I am a perfect Metalmorph mode candidate.
Konami: METAL FLAME SWORDSMAN!!!
God I would love a new Zera the Mant, metalmorph or otherwise. Tbh im all for this bandit Keith support but it feels like it’s slowly becoming Joey support
only issue is there’s already a fiend with the support so it wouldn’t make much sense to include.
The main cards that would make sense are Musician King as it’s a new type and did have metalmorph used on it in the anime and Garnecia Elefantis since Keith did use it and it’s also a new type.
Waiting for Metal Garoozis and Metal Axe Raider <3
Nah. Metal Swordsman of Landstar.
Flame Swordsman is really good and the Trap is slow but not awful as you can cheat out Fullmetal
Flame Swordsman has gotten a new job as the Flame Tax Collector.
It’s like a new variant of the /Assault Modes, which were bad enough.
But these are easier to use. Zoa and Flame Metalmorph is a 2 card omni as opposed to Stardust which is at minimum 4.
The Assault Modes also don’t have effects that can return themselves in hand to the Deck to set their archetype trap
Should’ve been optional to Summon with Max Metalmorph. Quite bad overall.
ok but why though
Why more you think. The game does not have enough cards overall.
You think they’re gonna do this with all types or just the top 5 most supported types?
I would rather have had a Hermos Fusion and Burning Soul Sword for Flame Swordsman. And then have Heavy Metal King released for Metalmorph. Ah well. I don’t even remember if Joey actually used Flame Swordsman against Keith.
The art of Flame Metalmorph comes full circle. Instead of Flame Swordsman’s attack being reflected back at him now he’s the one doing the reflecting!
You would think a Flame Swordsman/Red-Eyes Black Dragon Fusion would be first, but here we are…
I really hope not. Everything of Joey’s just gets sucked into the black hole of Red-Eyes eventually losing its own identity. I’m really happy Flame Swordsman is a theme that’s standing without it.
Exactly, this is why we need the Gilford structure deck pillow fort with “no red-eyes allowed” sign.
I am still annoyed that Gearfried has SEVEN monsters and is still not an archetype of its own.
Each time your opponent activates a card or effect [that they own],
Would appreciate it if they prevented the Beelze ftk.
this card gains 300 ATK, and if it does, inflict 500 damage to them, [and if you do that your opponent discards all dinosaur monsters.]
There we go.
Just bought saw this today so I went and bought the metal cards. Can’t wait to get it. Love metal flame swordsman design
Is this the first time the non-cover anime theme got a second wave? Then again this is cross promotion-ish so the circumstances aren’t the same. For once, a Flame Swordsman that should’ve been a fusion flavor wise.
This set has done a lot of unique things compared to the past few. No generic traps, more legacy cards in general, and fewer generic monsters and spells based on the unrevealed set numbers.
We did get that tie-in Gimmick Puppet Shark card in ROTA. If that counts.
It kinda feels like “Max Metalmorph” is becoming the Joey Wheeler equivalent to “Shining Sarcophagus”, and honestly, I’m all for that. I normally don’t like Duel Monsters archetypal support because they tend to either not do anything new or just add unnecessary fluff to Dark Magician and Blue Eyes that they don’t need. This feels different, because it feels like Konami is finally figuring out a direction they want Joey’s cards to go in, with Yugi’s cards being about the tricky interactions, Kaiba’s cards being about big beaters, and Joey’s cards being about equips and burn.
Am surprised by this single Duel Between Keith & Joey has become a whole sub-series but I don’t remember if Flame Swordman was part of that fight. I like some more Triamid or for Fun those other Mokey Mokey each with a different emotion
I only know the anime version had Joey use Flame Swordsman, when Keith tricked him into using it + Salamandra to attack a Defense Position Zoa (that he purposely briefly exposed), only for Keith to use Metalmorph to turn it into Metalzoa and, due to Duel Monster’s Dueling Magic shenanigans, reflected Salamandra back (as Machines were immune to “magical attacks”) and destroyed Flame Swordsman.
So, no real major use of him.
Joey uses some of Bandit’s Keith’s cards in the manga post-Duelist Kingdom. Mostly because Bandit Keith died…
Joey does give back Time Machine to Keith once they meet-up and Joey beats him in a duel again.
Joey does get/use some of Bandit Keith’s cards in the manga. Mostly because Bandit Keith died post-Duelist Kingdom.
Joey does give back Time Machine after beating Bandit Keith a final time, though.
