Halt Your Opponent’s Combo With “Dominus Purge”! [INFO]

    NeoArkadiaBy NeoArkadiaApril 23, 202452 Comments

By order of the Holy King

    INFO-JP078 聖王の粉砕 Dominus Purge
    Normal Trap Card
You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn. If your opponent controls a card, you can activate this card from your hand.
    (1) When a card or effect is activated that includes an effect that adds a card(s) from the Deck to the hand: For the rest of this Duel after this card activated from the hand resolves, you cannot activate DARK, WATER, and FIRE monster effects, also negate that activated effect, then, if you have a Trap in your GY, destroy that card.

Looks like new Centurion cards are on it?

      • Samurex on April 23, 2024 8:21 am

They have the vibe, but I don’t think so. We have a rose lady and some star big boi

      • Snow on April 23, 2024 8:39 am

Very similar aesthetic, but these characters are not featured in any Centurion card art.

They look like alt skins of Centurion characters

So much for that reddit translation cause it was blurry, glad to see what it actually does

    3. Otangaku D Yokeman on April 23, 2024 8:14 am

the card is REALLY nerfed compared to what was leaked before
obviously I trust you more than anything else, and this makes more sense than what I read (like it not being once per turn and it didnt have any drawback of locking you off Dark, fire and water lol)
card seems fair to me, and limited can play it,I kinda like this kind of restriction (even if I play HERO and it hurts my soul since I can’t play a staple card like this one)

    4. Reggie K on April 23, 2024 8:16 am

Why does this thing have such a heavy restriction? Locking out 3 entire attributes for the rest of the game for a weaker ash blossom is pretty steep

      • Samurex on April 23, 2024 8:19 am

It’s Ash that also pops and can’t be called-by. Would you REALLY wanna see this in Lab? The other two I have no clue.

      • Kevin Tewart on April 23, 2024 8:29 am

“it’s Ash that pops and…” Yeah 1/3 of ash maybe

      • Penis Balls on April 23, 2024 8:56 am

In some decks this is a better ash blossom

      • Ehs on April 23, 2024 9:15 am

It’s more like a sidegrade Ash.

Less versatile, but cant be called by or gamma’d and possible pop.

Do you play this over Ash? Maybe in few decks, but probably not alongside Ash.

      • Luvzudead on April 23, 2024 12:50 pm

If it only locked you out of Water and Fire this card would be super cool. But locking out of dark stops so many generic extra deck monsters, Chaos Angel, Ty-phon, S:P, I:P, and it has zero capabilities to be played in Labrynth, because all Labrynth monsters are dark. So as of so far I don’t see this card getting any playtime with the current decks.

      • N on April 23, 2024 1:24 pm

With this being a Normal Trap, it is significantly easier for some Decks to search and recycle than Ash.

      • Blastmole299 on April 23, 2024 9:39 pm

Don’t forget that this also means that you can’t use handtraps like Ash, the new Jellyfish Maxx C, Crow, and Ghost Belle

    5. Vegetto_ssj on April 23, 2024 8:21 am

      So are 6 Ash Blossom?

      • Joseph on April 23, 2024 8:29 am

Yes and no – You can play 6 but Dominus Purge will lock you out of activating Ash for the rest of the duel so I would think that you only play one or the other.

      • Laundsallyn09 on April 23, 2024 8:32 am

bruh it locks you out of fire effects

    6. Gadz on April 23, 2024 8:21 am

If you use this you cant use ash blossom for the rest of the duel, kinda weird

      • Loverboy on April 23, 2024 8:28 am

Well yeah but, if you draw this plus ash you just ash first then use trap. If u draw only the trap its unlikely that you are also going to be using ash in the same game.

      • Ehs on April 23, 2024 9:12 am

Do you really want more search negate handtrap in a deck?

    7. axl1775 on April 23, 2024 8:22 am

Okay but can we get this cool robot (and the girl I guess) as a monster card? Design is too good to be locked to a meh trap

    12. Jofx on April 23, 2024 9:23 am

      Umm what
This is a slight different than what we expected
They gonna make Dark and Water meta again after this card exists

    13. Ztar on April 23, 2024 9:45 am

No dark monster effects means this can’t be used in the most relevant trap deck which is a shame

What do you use this in then? Stun? Maybe any deck that wants to use that Morganite card since it keeps you from activating monster effects in the hand anyway.

      • Baroque on April 24, 2024 7:06 am

You may want to reread the card; for the rest of the duel *after this card activated from the hand resolves* it locks you down — so, if you do NOT ever activate it from your hand (instead just Setting it like normal . . . and like Labrynth can keep doing over and over as-needed), you won’t ever get locked out of your DARK, WATER, or FIRE monster effects.

    14. Takeru on April 23, 2024 10:12 am

Looklike they are newly theme that gonna show in next Booster pack like when Sinful Spoil show up only one before came out in next box.

    15. Nexit on April 23, 2024 10:18 am

this is WAY better than people think it out to be
yes, you cannot activate the effect of monsters with the Dark, Water and Fire attributes,
BUT this also means your OPPONENT cannot special summon monsters of those types on YOUR side of the field to have you have those negative effects activated
ie – the opponent performs the summon of the “Gimmick Puppet Nightmare” on YOUR side with the Albaz stuff to gimmick puppet lock you, but this card prevents the mandatory effect of the “nightmare” to activate the “you can only summon gimmick puppet monsters this turn” effect, since it’s a DARK monster.

      • Asterist on April 23, 2024 10:55 am

I’m no judge, but I’m unsure if that specific effect, and most like it, activate technically. I’m curious about which ones this may apply to though. I may be wrong though.

      • V on April 23, 2024 12:42 pm

The summon lock isn’t an activated effect

      Eldlich support?

    19. Benjo on April 23, 2024 1:19 pm

So can this be activated from the field? If so, would it actually do anything?

      • Karasu on April 23, 2024 1:51 pm

It still has the search negate if activated after being set, it just loses the Attribute-lock. Honestly not sure why people are saying it’s “unplayable” in Labrynth, since they set Traps beforehand, meaning no lock.

    20. Baroque on April 23, 2024 2:04 pm

I love how almost everyone — with like one exception here so far (Karasu) — seems to be acting as though this card’s bad, or that it’s not good to use in half of decks and especially in Labrynth just because it puts a lock on your DARK, FIRE, and WATER monsters . . . *when activated from the hand.* Not the field.

This card’s gonna be in *so* many places once it drops, *especially* Labrynth (two words: ‘reusable Ash’), it’s not gonna be funny. Heck, this is an Ash that can’t get hit by Called By the Grave, so I’ll be VERY surprised if people don’t jump on this like a trampoline.

      • Federplayer on April 23, 2024 2:34 pm

Yeah, you’re right, I can see this on the limited list in a few formats.

      • Ursa on April 23, 2024 11:49 pm

So ashed your opp with this trap in exchange for your DARK monster being locked for the entire duel. Was it even worth it for the lab??

      • * on April 24, 2024 3:30 am

I mean, the same thing happened with Tempai and then it turned out to be the opposite case. The effect isn’t bad, but seeing as it’s intended to be an analogue of cards like Evenly or Infinite, it’s understandable that some people might think using it feels a little clumsy..

      • Baroque on April 24, 2024 6:59 am

Most of what I’ve seen of people who’re critical of this card isn’t that they ‘think using it is clumsy’, they’re like Ursa here and failed the newest reading comprehension test by Konami.

“So ashed your opp with this trap in exchange for your DARK monster being locked for the entire duel. Was it even worth it for the lab??” tells me, for example, that Ursa’s missed the boat on the exact thing I pointed out in my post: YOU DO NOT GET LOCKED BY IT IF YOU DO NOT ACTIVATE IT FROM YOUR HAND.

Labrynth will NEVER activate it from the hand if they opt to use it as, y’know, search negation that happens to be a Normal Trap that destroys what it negates? They’ll always Set it, because that won’t get them locked down by it.

      • Ursa on April 24, 2024 9:53 am

        @Baroque
You do not get locked, so if u have this in ur hand in turn 2.. this is basically bricked huh, goodluck with your labrynth support.

      • Baroque on April 24, 2024 3:57 pm

By that logic, Ursa, ANY Traps in your hand Turn 2 as Labrynth are a brick.

I’m not sure in what world “Traps: The Deck” isn’t going to be Setting their backrow if they’re forced to go 2nd, let alone what world people will magically stop searching combo pieces or trying to draw more cards after Turn 1, especially if you do things to get rid of some of their stuff, so . . . I hope you enjoy the odd funhouse mirror of reality you seem to have found where people somehow don’t play the game Turn 2 onwards, I suppose?

      • Dark Armed Drytron on April 25, 2024 8:27 am

        Honestly, kinda rude
Hey, Baroq, rather than acting immature and shaming other people the way you did, you better go outside and find yourself a green material called gras (with double “s”) . That might be useful to channel your anger issue.

      • Baroque on April 26, 2024 4:12 am

Dark Armed Drytron, on a post about how everyone keeps calling Dominus Purge bad because they keep misreading the card (and so thought it always locked you rather than only doing it if you activated it from the hand), Ursa’s first reply was the exact thing I had been talking about; so I mentioned them as such.

Then they decided to come back with a scenario that tries to say the card’s bad . . . on the grounds that, in their words, it’s a brick if Labrynth’s forced to go second. Or if they draw it on a subsequent turn, ‘if u have this in ur hand in Turn 2’ is a bit unclear. Regardless, I couldn’t help but disagree since the idea seems to rely on the opponent doing nothing to set it off, one card in a hand of five not contributing to establishing a board making it a brick, and ignoring that this is talking about a deck whose entire remit is Setting Traps to use next or even the same turn.

Back to where you come in, was how I made my point rude? Sure, I didn’t exactly phrase it delicately then and probably not now. But you coming in to try to shame me for it doesn’t exactly change my point any nor how I made it; it contributes nothing to the discussion, demeans Ursa — like, do you think they can’t debate their own point? That they’re some sort of damsel in distress? I might thoroughly disagree with them but I can clearly see they’re able to form their own arguments — and just prompts me to talk again.

Barging into a discussion someone decided to not only engage in but keep going at as though they need to be defended from it doesn’t make you a knight in shining armor, it means you need to stop treating strangers on the internet like they’re princesses that need saving and dragons to slay, rather than people that can speak for themselves.
