Transcend Normal Dinosaurs!
Replays:
Strategic Summary:
Welcome to today’s CDP, this time featuring the brand new Transcendrake theme alongside the new Rex Raptor Dinosaur support. The Transcendrake theme consists of Level 12 Dinosaur monsters, a Synchro, Fusion, and Effect monster, plus a Rank 6 Xyz monster, each that can return a Normal Dinosaur monster in your GY to the deck to Special Summon itself back when destroyed. For example, Transcendrake Glacesaurus (YGOrg Translation) is the Level 12 Synchro, that prevents your Dinosaur monsters Special Summoned from the GY by being destroyed or targeted by your opponent’s card effects. Overall, this theme synergizes extremely well with other Dinosaur type support cards, such as Babycerasaurus and Petiteranodon, as there are multiple ways to destroy other Dinosaurs, even while they’re in hand. An example of this is Transcendrake Meteoros (YGOrg Translation), the Level 12 Effect monster, can Special Summon itself from the hand during the opponent’s turn by destroying 2 other Dinosaur monsters on your field/hand, plus when Special Summoned, it mills any Dinosaur to the GY. The glue holding this theme together is Xeno Meteoros (YGOrg Translation), a Level 6 Dinosaur Tuner that can Special Summon itself from the hand whenever any card is destroyed. Additionally, it can destroy a Dinosaur on your field or hand to Special Summon a Dinosaur Normal Monster from your hand/Deck, such as Frostosaurus or Megazowler. This just happens to give you fodder to summon any of your Transcendrake monsters, especially if you tutored Xeno with Ground Xeno (YGOrg Translation) first, which serves as a Fusion Spell from the GY.
Now let’s talk about the other half of the deck, the good Dinosaurs. Leading the new wave of Rex Raptor support is the Continuous Spell, Jurassic Power, which boosts the ATK of all Dinosaurs, while also making Level 5+ Dinos no longer require a Tribute to Normal Summon. Most importantly, it can send a Dinosaur monster from the hand/field to the GY to tutor any Dinosaur with 1200 Def. Noteworthy options include the new King Rex the Dragon King (YGOrg Translation) or King Rex the Twin-Headed Dragon (YGOrg Translation), or you can look to tutor staples such as Doodle Beast – Tyranno, Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju, or Giant Rex. Either way, this gives your deck a wider toolbox, beyond the standard Ultimate Conductor Tyranno found in any Dinosaur build. Now don’t get me wrong, he makes an appearance here too, and offers a really cool interaction with the final card in ths spotlight, Uradora of Fate. This Normal Spell costs 1000 LP to activate, but it gives a monster you control 1000 ATK and an additional effect whenever the targeted monster destroys a monster by battle. When it does, you reveal the bottom card of your deck, put it on the top or the bottom, then you can draw cards up to 1 per 1000 ATK of the revealed monster and gain 1000 LP for each, if and only if the revealed card was a Dragon, Dinosaur, Sea Serpent, or Wyrm… which, all of your monsters are. Combine this with Tyranno, which can attack all monsters your opponent controls, and you can be drawing an insane amount of cards in a turn… especially if you also throw in Trackblack. Enjoy Dino-stomping the opponent with Rex Raptor and the Transcendrakes!
