Strategic Summary:
The Myutant strategy offers flexible core, additional disruption options at the cost of banishing cards from your hand or field, and a powerful endgame of leveraging Fusion monsters to your advantage. The Metaphys archetype benefits from being banished, cascading advantage into the next turn through the slow accumulation of resources. Together, the two archetypes banish their way to victory, setting up the other theme’s gameplan quite nicely. Plus, with a field spell like Myutant Evolution Lab that recovers banished Myutant monsters, what isn’t there to like? If you manage to banish Metaphys Tyrant Dragon or inflict battle damage with Metaphys Ragnarok, you even gain access to some powerful secondary effects from the Metaphys that bring mass banishing to the table, including other Special Summoned monsters or set backrow! Finally, the Myutant archetype is perfect for stalling until you have enough Metaphys advantage, through the disruptive capabilities of Myutant Beast and Myutant Arsenal. With the added ability of banishing Necroface from the hand through multiple means, the Myutants give the Metaphys theme enough speed and power to take on all foes.
