Well, this was not what I was expecting, a dragoon instead of an evolved dragon rider made from both Sevens paladin, and hyper strike dragon Dragiastar F, but I suppose this could work as a boss monster
I know Sevensgias is not banned, but card legit feels like “what if we banned Sevensgias and create a super nerfed replacement”
Would love to see 7RM fusions with the other “Gias” dragons too
Sevens Knight is both a weaker and complimentary Sevensgias, most likely Konami making up for how overpowered the original was. Sevens Knight has almost the same requirement of milling the top card of your Deck, except no longer needing your opponent to control a Level 7 or higher monster as well. The requirement also helps with Sevensgias’s first effect, which depends on Types in your GY.
Sevens Knight’s first effect is both a weaker version of Sevensgias, and also one that doesn’t need to have monsters in your GY to get the ATK boost. He is designed around Wonder Fusion shuffling your materials back into the Deck, so he is less reliant on thw GY as Sevensgias.
Sevens Knight’s second effect gives Knight destruction immunity from all card effects – both yours and your opponent’s – until the end of their next turn. This also compliments Sevensgias’s second effect, which is a field wipe that Knight can protect himself from.
Though Sevens Knight is by all intents and purposes the nerfed Sevensgias, I don’t mind that and I am grateful Konami made a weaker retrain than to errata the original, keeping the spirit of Sevensgias’s past meta dominance intact.
To my knowledge this is the first time we got the ORR alt artworks outside of that rarity.
It’s good that there’s now a more accessible way to obtain those Alternate Arts for SEVENS’s Boss Monsters since the Over Rush Rare versions are still quite expensive and rare to find nowadays.
I look at this and I immediately think of all of those goofy BLS retrains they tried to make in the 2010s to make a format appropriate BLS that flopped.
it has multi-attacking, so objectively it can’t be a bad boss monster, but i wish it were any other fusion like Yamiruler or Guitarna.
At least Sevens Knight has the advantage of not being fooled by Berry Fresh and Excutie: Decks with Levels that could fool Sevensgias due to its Requirement.
