I need a Bruno Santo explanation on this one, stat. I gotta know what Kronos thinks on this one. 2 1600 atk normal monsters in 2 days, and no normal support for dinosaurs? Crazy. What’s the Bruno take.

Dinosaur is the one Type in the game that cares the most about having massive amounts of ATK. That’s their gimmick. The issue is that Rush can’t have Level 4 Effect monsters with 1500+ ATK without making them Legends, and we just got Super Conductor Tyranno a few days ago so they are going with vanillas.
N – Rush!Dinosaurs also have Maximum and lol Upstart Goblin stuff going on, albeit these are specific themes.
I’m curious what will happen with these two normals. Their fusion from OCG is rather unimpressive but maybe some remake for it?
We got the Maximum support already but Upstart Goblin is a miss likely because nobody used that card even in Dinos – there are far better Legend Spells. Monster Reincarnation for Metarion got advertised for Neo Legend Awakening Pack and we only got one card that supported it. Upstart Goblin support will also likely be kept to a minimum.
I think the Fusion is all but certain to be in here too because other early Fusions were imported to Rush.

To be fair, the one support Metarion got for Monster Reincarnation is a pretty solid. Imaginary Reactor is an indispensable piece of the deck, and given how quickly Metarion tends to fill up its GY, you tend to see the Pot of Greed bonus on Imaginary Reactor fairly often. The introduction of Elemental HERO Prisma implicitly increases the synergy of Metarions with Monster Reincarnation too.

We now have Twin Headed King Rex and Crawling Dragon 2 in the same pack. Maybe we will also get their fusion Bracchio-raidus, although that card is a bit janky in modern rush duels
Normal monsters are a waste of time and Rush Duel should’ve never release them without giving them an effect

@Porm Rush isn’t the OCG. Normal monsters being Normal and having higher stats comes up a lot and they have a lot of support cards too.
Galaxy runs at least 1 type of Normal in most builds (Rainac or Contact Voyager) for access to both Normal support cards and a bunch of fusions, Metarion is all about fusing Normal monsters which lets it use those support cards a lot better. A bunch of top decks tend to focus around Normal monsters (Gaia, Dragon normals, HERO)
The main staple interruption (Shiny Shady) also doesn’t work on Normal monsters which includes Normal fusions like all the Red-eyes stuff and Blue-eyes Ultimate.
Beyond specific Dino normal support (likely fusions as well considering the two revealed so far) I have no clue what these are meant to be beyond pack filler. At least with Rush, pack filler has a lot more potential than OCG filler cards and it’s still a normal monster with 1600 attack.
If it wasn’t a deck-build pack I’d say they might be going for a Two-headed king rex deck like what they did for 5GD and other notable monsters in YGO’s history
Dinosaur has two gimmicks in the original format – destroying themselves for advantage and having high ATK for their Levels.
Since the first can’t be done in Rush they are going with the second. But in Rush any Level 4 Effect monster with 1500+ ATK must be a Legend, and Dinosaur just got their themed Legend monster a few days ago.
Triple Build Packs have a lot of cards devoted to each theme as well and Dinosaur unlike the other themes doesn’t have as many reprints hence the need for pack filler like this.

Bruno has somewhat inaccurate takes on the meta so much that the Rush fansubber, who is friends with the second best Rush player in the world, called him out on his takes.
I wouldn’t call myself an expert on Rush meta but I’ve played a decent bit on Edo and have enough Japanese knowledge to look up tournament decks (even if I’m still flooded by “WHY RUSH BAED” western content somehow)
Right now there is no explanation for these normal monsters. Maybe it’s pack filler, maybe they’re setting up for a retrain of Bracci-radius, maybe there’s gonna be a bunch of Dinosaur fusion support. We just don’t know beyond regular Bracci-radius being a likely fusion in the pack

Come on 3rd Anniversary of Master Duel including Rush! They’ve got the card pool for enough Secret Packs now!
Master Duel is the term to refer to the original version of Yugioh, as seen in Vrains and in the names for the rulings dubbed “Master Rules”.
