Oh these are pretty good actually. Another way to fuse is always welcome and it can even gets itself back. The fusion also solves the inherent problem of the illusion monsters by just allowing us to attack directly along with having a reliable in archetype way of stealing monsters on the field. The trap is also a nice interruption though the send cost is rather annoying

They turned the really cool “Hecatoncheir” into “Hecahands”🤢

      • HeraldOfOpera on January 2, 2026 12:46 pm

@World of Pain: They turned something they can’t realistically copyright into something they can. Complain all you want, but at least understand the reasoning for not just directly using the name of a mythological creature.

      • Dakota on January 2, 2026 5:37 pm

the cost isnt so bad if you run snake eyes as a side engine, just ditch a poplar

      • Baroque on January 2, 2026 6:20 pm

The cost also isn’t so bad if you just keep stealing enemy monsters to fuel it, and thinking about it that’s probably the goal of giving it that cost in the first place: giving you a reason to keep using the Lv7 monsters’ effects to take your opponent’s stuff as well as a means (read: a consistent tribute outlet) for them to keep having room to put your opponent’s things.

      • Bfgman on January 3, 2026 2:13 am

        @Baroque

The new fusion is not something that you would end on turn 1. It is still back row and xeno.

      • Baroque on January 3, 2026 4:34 am

@Bfgman: I’m afraid you appear to have misunderstood my post, since at no point did making the new Fusion turn 1 factor into what I said.

I was talking about how I felt the new Continuous Trap — which, given it’s a Trap, I’m doubly confused as to why you’re talking about things being done Turn 1 — didn’t have too onerous a cost and figured why its cost to steal and its upkeep are built to keep sending stuff you control to the GY: so that you continue to have room to steal, whether by its own effect (it makes room for its theft effect with the effect’s own cost) or by the deck’s Level 7 monsters (by making it not unlikely for you to have a space empty once your turn comes around, even though it’s only sending in your own End Phase) . . . or, for that matter, Xeno’s own Quick Effect, now that you bring up the Level 9 horror. Giving him a space free to drop something out of your opponent’s Extra probably doesn’t hurt.

Speaking of the deck’s Level 7 monsters, though, Dandalos may be a new one for them to make, but I wasn’t referring to it in particular; don’t forget that the archetype’s original release had THREE of them, or that one of them (Godos) IS a Quick Effect you can use like a D.D. Crow (since it revives a monster from the enemy GY and sets it up to be banished when it leaves the field). Perhaps I should have phrased it a bit less vaguely than ‘take your opponent’s stuff’, but it’s hard for me to find any other way to summarize how Godos steals from the enemy GY on either turn while Gaigas and Breus plunder the top of your opponent’s deck and rifle through their hand for loose monsters, respectively.

I’d like to think I put a decent amount of thought into what I’ve said, so please assume such of me in turn next time?

      • Yod on January 3, 2026 7:39 pm

        @HeraldOfOpera
I dont think thats the reason, they have a ton of random names and monsters from mythology and old storys which didnt get changed

They just normally just change anything even close to any judeochristian religion to be something non descriptive, because they fear that “western people” will have some freakout over that if mentioned
As you can even see in the trivia fact, the Hecatoncheir are very closely related to angels, demons, and god, thats why they were changed

    2. Hat two trick on January 2, 2026 7:50 am

Besides the main deck monster it is clear that they hate this deck. The fusion is so underwhelming and the trap pops itself if you cannot send anything else. The archetype had clear holes to fill like a reliable starter, stronger endboard piece and a bridge from it to chimera that does not feel awful but it is clear konami did not want to commit to it.

      Reply
      • Dakota on January 2, 2026 5:46 pm

not synergising with chimera isnt a hole in the archtype…just because it doesnt doesnt tie in with an archtype that has nothing to do with it.

        these cards are great
we already have 3 good starters
Ibtel,Yadel and hidden can all grab things we need…and hidden can force your opponent to draw and discard triggering the summon effects of the big hecahands. and makibel makes the big ones even less brickey because now you can fuse them turn 1 without having to bannish them.

the new fusion monster is terrific as it just steals with no drawback while letting your monsters attack directly (thus getting around the two-edged sword that is illusion battles)

and the trap is useful because it steels durring opponents turn….and as a bonus,if you happen to be running snake eyes as a side engine, well poplar is the perfect card to send at the end of your turn for cost.

as for end board…we already have Xeno which is a huge body that can litterally steal from your opponents ED ,and even if your opponent DOES get rid of it,you just steal everything they have in retaliation.

      • Baroque on January 2, 2026 6:34 pm

You ask them to make ‘a stronger endboard piece’ while staring at a Fusion that ensures your opponent can’t turtle behind a Defense Position monster(s) and makes Xeno much more dangerous (between its being a high-ATK Fusion to swing with and its being able to potentially grab an opponent’s Extra Deck monster to also be swinging directly with, plus as Dakota mentions if the opponent deals with it you get to take everything you can touch . . . at which point everything it took can swing directly as well, fancy that) and calling it underwhelming; I’m afraid I can’t see the logic.

I’ll also point out something that’s really big about the new Trap Card: it DOES NOT target. This gives it a LOT more potential things it can steal AND ensures that your opponent can’t simply get rid of the likely ‘target’ and leave you with nothing unless they’re outright leaving THEMSELVES with nothing on-board. Also worth mention is that if by some means you end up losing the Trap Card, this is one of those archetypes that honestly doesn’t need to care as much since Yadel can simply be used to get it back for another go.

So, all in all, I think all three of these cards are worth a round of applause, so let’s give them a big hand!

While these aren’t the greatest support cards ever, they’re alright. But yeah, Killer Tune already is good enough and it definitely feels like they’re the favorite child so far in Phantom revengers. I agree that their support should be even more mid than this. They’re close to good enough for meta already.

The only explanation for these waves of such soft support cards is that the idea is to give the archetype a final touch with a searcher that allows access to any card that includes the effect of stealing monsters from the opponent

Or they’re simply testing the waters

      Reply
    8. Zeno on January 2, 2026 10:04 am

So the monster fusion does solve some issues. It’s not a one card combo but it does help with bricky hands fusing straight into the searcher. It’s also level 6 so it’s easier to get pilgrim reaper and zombie vampire on the field for the 9 card drop. With most cards having gy effects. And not putting any locks you could potentially make some nasty boards. But luck 🍀 is still necessary.

The Main Deck monster is really good. The Fusion is situational. The Trap is bad,

Kinda disappointing. The main deck is good. The Fusion is eh. The trap is weird. Why do you have to send a card for the trap? Yeah, it triggers your Light Hecahands, but so what? You already tributed a monster to use it, now you have to send something else? Why? Why am I negging myself for a snatch steal?

      • DuckSguised on January 2, 2026 12:37 pm

        It can send itself

      • HFIL on January 2, 2026 1:07 pm

@DuckSguised I know it can send itself, but what I’m asking is why it needs to send anything at all? It’s just a maintenance cost that doesn’t need to be there.

      • Dakota on January 2, 2026 5:51 pm

you could run a poplar….send it to grave and itle just come back.
in fact a hybrid of this heca and snake eyes is extremely powerful because you have almost complete control of your opponents board.

      • Baroque on January 2, 2026 11:10 pm

The point of the Trap Tributing stuff to steal and sending a thing to GY at the end of your turn strikes me as a means of making space for the Level 7 Hecatoncheires to keep stealing your opponent’s stuff (just keep getting rid of stuff you grabbed from your opponent, no big deal), and/or in the case of the Trap’s own theft effect ensuring that you always have room TO steal something with it (for when you need to use it as an interrupt of some sort) since it’s only ever going to fail at its job if your opponent is either sitting on something unaffected by card effects or on a big ol’ pile of nothing.

Plus, if you end up with a field you absolutely want to keep where it is, you can either have it eat backrow or even, as Duck mentioned, have it eat itself and you can get it back with Yadel later.

      • Lifedeather on January 3, 2026 4:55 pm

Cause Snatch Steal was banned for being too good now you are getting a banned card for free as long as you pay the cost!

these new cards are great…i did a bit of experimenting with them and that trap card runs great if your running a snake-eyes heca hybrid.

in fact i managed to make a nearly pure heca deck with just a touch of snake eyes and azamina and it runs great.

Some people treated this new support too harshly, but I don’t think its that bad. Makibel gets rid of bricks and gets you the Jawza easier, the fusion steals from field and gets rid of the weakness of illusion mosnters (and you can attack directly with stolen monsters) and you can use trap to immediately steal your opponent’s monster. If you don’t want to pay the cost, just send the card itself to the graveyard after it does its job. I really wanna see what people come up with this support, other than just slapping Chimera engine on it.

    13. Cry on January 2, 2026 7:21 pm

Something about YGOranization I noticed: They always tell you what language the names of the cards were inspired from, unless it’s Arabic. Whenever the names are Arabic, they just won’t mention the language. If its Greek or something else they mention the language.

I look at the fusion and I look at people’s reaction and… how the heck Change of Heart on legs is “bad”?
It also allows your heckin’-a-ton-chairs and all the stolen monsters to attack directly.
It’s obviously not a turn 1 card but if your opponent has nothing to stop it, it’s dangerously close to OTK.
