The roach lives and got cuter.
INFO-JP027 マルチャミー・プルリア Multchummy Purulia
Level 4 WATER Aqua Effect Monster
ATK 100
DEF 600
During the turn you activate this card’s effect, you can only activate 1 “Multchummy” monster effect, not counting this card’s.
(1) If you control no cards (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; apply these effects for the rest of this turn.
● Each time your opponent Normal or Special Summons a monster(s) from the hand, immediately draw 1 card.
● During the End Phase, if the number of cards in your hand is more than the sum of cards your opponent controls +6, shuffle random cards from your hand into the Deck until equal to that sum.
Note: プルリア I think is like playing on Puri or Puru, which are Japanese Onomatopeia for like wobbly, quiver, squishy things, like, you know a jellyfish. X-Brain suggested it could be like Pluria too, as in Plural. It also appears to be Aurelia, the genus for the common Jellyfish.
We think it’s Multi + Chummy for the theme name.
Atem TL Note: This’s the first exact time we’ve seen this exact variety of comparative text string involving a sum that includes a fixed real number (+6). For this reason, as well as others, the raw JP of the card text (which merely talks about “the difference”, whereas readers in both JP and EN can identify multiple “difference”s that the card could refer to) is inadequate to be certain. For this one, wait on rulings – the card only mentions one difference, hence sum being used, but JP could well rule this card to shuffle back 6 more cards than I’m expecting. This is because it’d take more text for them to write out using different differences to determine “if you shuffle” vs. “how many you shuffle” – since only one is writ here, I’m expecting only one difference to matter, but the card *does not punish hoarding* as much as it otherwise punish if it only has one difference matter. The consequences of future rulings are paramount. Wait.

Maxx who?
Do we know what rarity it’s gonna be in INFO? The preview image here has the silvery text of a Rare, but I dunno if that’s really indicative of anything. Here’s hoping it’s just a Common!
Oh it’s not OPT. Are we sure they limit other theme cards to once per name? I heard limit non-theme from Reddit, just wanna be sure.
it is once per turn??? read the card???
This feels like it could have been great as a nerfed Maxx C, but they overbalanced it by only counting summons from the hand.
I think it’s fine. It also counts normal summons, so at worst it’s an upstart goblin and it has the added bonus of working against Floo.
Yeah good point. Against some decks you can get 3-4 draws which is good enough. At worst it still helps you with deck-thinning.
It accounts for Floo though
It counts normals and specials so it’s valid against Floo as well. It really only flops against trap/stun decks AFAICT. It’s better in the side than main for this reason; if you know it’s going to draw you X≥2 it’s worth siding all 3.
It affects floo so good job with that
So, is this a whole archetype or just this card?
A theme is implied but only this card is shown. It might be a theme printed across multiple sets, a la Duston.
Hand Trap archetype spotted, Psy-frame robbed of new support
Seems good, and the other hand traps in future will probably also be good. Kinda like a labrynth but for Water decks.
they make it cute for preparation for master duel animation
because nobody want cockroach animation for maxx c
Wait people actually think they’re banning Maxx C cause of this dog card? Lmao
I don’t think theyll ban it,I HOPE they do 🥹
it makes no sense to release a more balanced version of Maxx C while keeping Maxx C legal, my bet is that it would be ban in the next OCG banlist. in any case, it will be interesting to see what happens in the meantime. running 6 maxx C seems insane and the worst format ever.
I really don’t think OCG players would run 6 “C” and this, especially since, like Gnomaterial, this card is effectively useless after turn 1, since most decks are able to maintain decent boards/retain some advantage even after Evenly, thanks to Little Knight.
The fact that it’s LV4 Water means that it’s an automatic insert from my Water Xyz deck.
This card is beyond busted. Every deck summons at minimum 2 times from the hand so at worst this is pot of greed, and at best it’s just Maxx C cause those restrictions aren’t even that bad. If they have 4 cards on field you get a starting hand of 10.
at worst it’s not even a pot of greed if you go first. The hand cap restriction might not be bad, but you shuffle random cards from your hand, so if you open a very good card, you risk shuffling it into the deck if you activate this effect.
Yeah, this is solid. It’s practically a guaranteed +1 because most decks at least use their normal summon, then add a card which can be Special Summoned from the hand. Maxx C is taking the hit in the OCG I can see it coming. There’s no reason to release this otherwise.
i have to ask, do effects like this one accumulate
if you activate 2 of this card do you draw 2 each time
They generally do not, but as usual, it’s best to wait for rulings.
They do. For them to not accumulate they have to be worded like “also any battle damage your opponent takes becomes halved.” or “you can only gain this effect once” like in morganite
So u can activate multiple purulia during the same turn ?
So can i activate other handtraps? I can’t understand how the restriction works
You just limit to OPT other of its archtype’s effects.
I’d imagine it should, but we’ll wait for rulings and see.
Scrubbing Bubbles looking ahh jellyfish 🥺
Everyone and their mother nowadays is getting additional normal summon but you can only gain this effect yadda yadda the hand vomit never ends.
So if my opponent drops this on me turn 1, and I summon twice from the hand and end on a single link-2, they start their turn with 1 card? Or even worse, I can just combo off and not have to worry about anything except for 1 Infinite Impermanence at the very worst, due to card’s the monster effect restriction (no Ash to worry about, no Nib, no Droll, no Maxx C, no Ghost Belle, no nothing).
Sounds like a trick, almost. I guess it depends on how good the rest of the archetype turns out to be (if indeed there are other cards).
Your opponent would be on 6 cards in hand and you would control 1 card, the difference is only 5 and therefore nothing happens in End Phase. Also, the restriction only applies to other monsters of the archetype from how I read it.
“monster effect restriction…”
Reading iznt yugioh 0layer strong suit
There may be a “Multchummy” for Deck summons, one for Extra Deck summons, maybe even one for GY/Banishment summons, maybe even one each for monster/spell/trap effect activations. Maybe this is like ghost girls and there will be one per attribute.
true, but “Multichummy” that could either refer to Chummy as in friendly; or Chum, as in ocean feeder bait.
if they are different attributes, I think they might be based on small sea creatures that gather in large numbers. Like Fire would be based on Krill/Shrimp, and Wind or Light might be based on Sardines/Mackerel or other shiny scaled small schooling fish (or a school of flying fish in regards to Wind)
The hardest part, I think, is finding a good deck that can actually use them, if they all require you to have an empty field to activate. Either that or here’s hoping its in your opening hand if you go second
Maybe I’m wrong but this card can’t be negated by ash blossom cause this card have in its text “apply these effects for the rest of this ()” like morganite.
You can ash this, because the effect that is applied is an effect that adds a card from the main deck to the hand. The reason you can’t ash morganite is because it’s an effect that changes the number of cards you draw for your normal draw in the draw phase.
Is OCG going to ban MaxxC at last ? This is like what we wanted an errata MaxxC
Haha, trash card. No one wants to play this; OCG players number 1 card is still Maxx “C”!! And don’t ever think to ban it when we still get a lot of Japanese products with Maxx “C” in them.
More balanced Maxx C, should’ve had at least a card limit restriction like this from the start
A more restrictive Maxx C that the opponent should easily be able to play around and is apparently part of an archetype of hand traps that will be in subsequent sets. Not sure how I feel about this.
It’s too weak to be considered balanced:
– Useless against decks that only summon once from the hand.
– Dead draw after turn 1.
– Opponent can turn it against you.
Anyways, I still expect they do 5 more with different attributes: for summons from Deck & Extra Deck, for GY & banishment, for Spells/Traps, for monster effects, and maybe for setting cards. This could make for decent side deck choices, by combining the 2 that can get the most benefits depending on what you’re facing.
– Useless against decks that only summon once from the hand.
You side deck this card against decks its good against (most decks give you 1-3 draws)
– Dead draw after turn 1.
This is a side deck card or you play a going 2nd deck.
– Opponent can turn it against you.
Maybe im to dumb but how?
By placing more cards on the field so you have to randomly shuffle back, potentially robbing you of the best cards in your hand.
*I mean leaving less cards on the field, after summoning from the hand.
Cards you keep in hand = 6 + cards on the opponent’s field.
I believe this is in place so you at least start with the typical going second hand of 6 cards, so if your opponent has 1-2 cards while you used another handtrap it’s quite beneficial and you can avoid the random shuffling
It is time. The roach’s days are numbered.
This card is a significantly worse version of Maxx “C”. There is literally no reason to ever print this in a world where the EARTH Insect is legal. No matter how good or bad this card actually is, its existence means bad things for the roach.
Which is good in my book.
It’s a bit weaker Maxx “C” that in certain niche situations may end being better. Tho most important element is the fact that it is part of yet unknown archetype and to fully evaluate this card we need to see what it is all about.
So they found a way to sneak-in maxx c into the tcg xD at least it’s a balanced version
Boring, we already have jellyfish monsters, can’t you give us some obscure creature from like Africa instead.
No.
Also Konami is not there so they can’t read your cries for some obscure stuff nobody cares about.
I hope this will be a water psy frame like archetype, “submerging” (banishing, self bouncing, etc) to facilitate hand effects
I hope its not a secret rare cause we all know konami is the kings of short prints
When it says +6 I can imagine it works like this:
Let’s say you draw until you have 12
Your opponent controls 3 on the field
The +6 becomes and arbitrary number added to the cards your opponent controls
So the 3 card become 9
So now it’s 9 on the field versus 12 in the hand.
So you would be forced to shuffle 3 cards into the deck at random.
TLDR no more deck outs or guaranteed follow ups/ board breakers.
