Note: Limited Duel is a side event format in Japan similar to the TCG’s Time Wizard and other similar formats, where special restrictions of gameplay and Deck building apply.
Period: January to March, 2025
Deck Construction Restrictions: You can only use Link Monsters in your Extra Deck.
Details: You can only reduce your opponent’s Life Points to 0 via battle damage from your Link Monster’s attack.
■ Rules are Master Rule (April 1st 2020 Adjustment)
■ The damage that finally reduces Life Points to 0 must be from the attack of the above mentioned monster. Any damage is fine prior to that.
■ “Exodia the Forbidden One” does not win the Duel
■ If a player Decks out and a player cannot draw when they have to draw a card, the Duel is a loss for both players
■ If you attack your opponent with a monster that would reduce the opponent to 0 LP but is not a Link Monster, they take no damage.
■ If you attack your opponent’s monster with a monster that would reduce the opponent to 0 LP but is not a Link Monster, they take no damage.
■ If you attack with a Link Monster with less ATK than your opponent’s Link Monster, you take no battle damage.
■ The effects of Link Monsters you control cannot reduce your LP to 0 by cost or effect damage and such effects cannot be activated.

Wonder how many anti-Link floodgates and self-mill strategies will piss off the people playing.
Oh yeah a format were if my opponent mills it’s own deck we both lose… how fun to play

Lol love how it’s all “Link this, Link That” but they still use Dark Armed Dragon, Judgement Dragon & Ice Barrier Dragon as the cover but none are link or have a link variet
Trinity format uses Vision Hero Trinity as its mascot, doesn’t mean you’re forced to play heroes. Ygo should use the Unhappy Maiden as its mascot because I said so.
Sounds like they want to push Maliss and the new @Ignister support. Not really a fan of Links, so imma say it’s kinda boring.
Here, Exodia is literally the forbidden one (to win).
That said, every other “you win the duel” seems to be playable. Time to get creative with Venom monsters.
Very cool, much cooler than a ban list update which cannot possibly impact the core gameplay loop. No draw your entire deck on turn 1 exodia ftk but more importantly, no burn ftks. Negate soft-ftks are A OK of course. As long as the topic is links I hope they bring back linked zones matter for fusions, etc. WITH a caveat: links don’t prevent direct attacks. I can’t use the the 3-character acronym to describe this because someone will go ackchyually.
Can’t wait for no sorch/negate format in which case 95% of the card pool becomes illegal to activate.
