This deck is poop 💩

The biggest shocker to me from this is the Stat Line changes that this means. Suddenly all the old vanillas pale in comparison to our new Rock overlords.
I doubt that Vanilla stat lines are hugely impactful, but it’s still a big consistency boost that setting three magnet warriors probably means they won’t all get run over.
Considering that it is now very common for various Rush’s Decks to bring ATK boosted Boss Monsters or Fusion/Maximum Monsters, I suppose increasing the ATK of Normal Monsters does not cause any problems (although we did have a constant DEF increase over the years in Rush Duels)
Rock is the worst type in rush duels with no deck until today, so having the best lv4 vanillas in the game is more like an apology letter from Konami.
As suspected, many of Rush’s Magnet Monsters appear to be able to Fusion Summon without needing a Fusion Spell Card (like Rush’s Gaia)
It’s funny that we had a slight increase in stats… but for Normal Monsters (although hey, Rock in Rush Duels must have something unique and special for the first time in its existence)
“Protorion the Magna Warrior” yells at me that this Boss Monster will have a Fusion Monster in the future (a semi-generic one from what I could deduce)
There are only three Rush Magnet’s Cards left to reveal: 1 looks like a Fusion Monster and the rest are Spell Cards.
Beta broke the stat line for Level 4 Legends, which tells me Konami will print more Level 4 1600-1700 ATK vanillas in the future as non-Legends while keeping the 1900+ ATK vanillas as Legends.
For all of the hype the Magnet Warriors have over their Polymerization effects, unfortunately two of the Fusions they don’t do much on their own. Valkyrion the Unity Warrior lacks protection, and Alpha while more generic is only useful for resetting the Trap as the Equip is awful. Making Unity Wings the only decent-ish Fusion they have for the pop and reshuffling your Magnets and Extra Deck bosses. We will probably get the Beta and Gamma Fusions either in this set or in a future one. Prototerion may get a Fusion as well.
Hopefully the last remaining support does a good job because right now these cards except for Wings and Repulsive Force are meh.
Now I’m curious to see if Mechanical Chaser would be a legend or not.
I don’t know if I like this new lv4 vanilla powercreep decision by them. Now Transamu Rainac doesnt feel so special anymore…
I also don’t really like the new trending of fusion from hand/field. At first the requirement monster from the field is so that they are equal with maximum monster.
I think they kinda regret to make polymerization as a legend card now.
And at this point I think they also kinda regret making maximum monster too…
Rainac is one of Yudias’s aces and has a whole slew of support cards – 5 of which mention Rainac by name, and another 4 are Fusions specifically listing it as material. Rainac also has a signature move variant and 3 Traps in the game indirectly supporting him and feature him on the artwork. He is also getting another anime variant in the near future. Rainac will be supported for a long time.
The themes that Fusion Summon from hand/field usually have weaker Fusions in comparison to Fusions that need to be on the field, and that Fusion effect is their primary gimmick. Themes such as Voidvelgr and Celeb Rose that fuse on the field have other gimmicks, such as Dark Hole/Equip Spells and GY/hand control, respectively to balance them out but they have strong Fusions if you can summon them.
There are exceptions – namely Sevens Wonder Pile (before the limit) and Blue-Eyes – but Magnet Warriors seem balanced enough where they won’t be much of a problem, especially as they are much more Type restrictive by comparison (and Rock is still a very sparse Type).
Poly would have been too strong as a non-Legend, as it gives every Fusion theme free access to their Fusions (especially ones that have high Leveled materials) without investment. Wonder Fusion was broken even as you had to use SRM as material, so a more generic counterpart is a no go. Fortunately, Legend rules are not attached to the card themselves, so it is very possible Konami will update the rules again so you can use more Legend cards in the future so not everybody will just use Dark Hole.
Maximums are definitely something Konami is avoiding. We only have 18 Maximum triads printed so far, and all but 2 of them are attached to the anime or manga. Initially Maximum reliant themes such as Constructor and Tron no longer need the Maximum to function, and their GO RUSH counterparts don’t use them. Even the GO RUSH Maximums are sparsely supported – Galactica and Jointech are predominantly Tribute/Fusion themes with no direct synergy with their Maximums and their play styles make including the Maximums nearly impossible, while both Abyss lines and Chemistry have shifted away from supporting their Maximums and are now using the Maximums as a resource or a cost rather than the intended endgame. And the Maximums now are mostly used for effects that activate outside of Maximum Mode. Maximums were a necessary milestone for Rush’s growth – to introduce monsters with more than 2500+ ATK into the game and add a layer of strategy to the game to remove these monsters without beatdown or Trap effects. Maximums are an inherently flawed mechanic just as much as a growing pain, and hopefully something Konami will inevitably support more on its own merits much like Rituals before them in Master format.
For fusion, they make many different things. Fusion from hand, fusion from gy, de-fusion. While maximum is just “that” and no variation at all.
I mean, they already making more of monster that have “2 effects”, like blue eyes vision dragon. It seems that they really not trying at all for maximum. In the anime they go to fusion play -> to maximum play -> then back to fusion play again lol.
Well, for many different way to fusion, those are already exist in the OCG. And I still think that they already given up to putting a more effort for rush duel originality (Even they already stop making new type for fusion monster CMIIW). Like how many they release nostalgia card bait in rush as fusion monster.
STARGATE REFERENCE
I would laugh so hard if we finally got Bastion’s Magnet Warriors in Rush Duel before the main game. XD
Stat creep is a humiliation ritual but my demoralization already peaked with 1600/0 so now I feel nothing.
when i said i wanted expansion for magnet warrior series I mean in the originals not in the rush (TT^TT)
The probable reason why the OG Magnet Warrior’s stats wasn’t changed by Konami, from the Master Duel (TCG/OCG) to Rush Duel. Is because of Legend Strike’s existence what enforces them to not bother changing the stats of these monsters. In order to make not usable by Legend Strike.
