Would’ve been pretty good of it gave the effect protection to any light dragon, but as it is, its pretty bad

So far the number of applicable Level 8 or higher Dragons is very low, but Blue-Eyes is bound to be a theme that will get more support over the coming months or years (look at how far CyDra has come) so that number should end up getting a lot higher.
The protection effect only applies for 4 monsters so far, only one of which also gets the ATK boost (yeah I know this is a Blue-Eyes SD). Hopefully this opens up more Dragon Legend monsters getting in the game, preferably at Level 8.
Otherwise only Blue-Eyes will get the full benefit of this card, while Red-Eyes and High Tech Dragon only get one or the other effect.

They will create new Dark Magician & BEWD support for Rush Duels but not for TCG? A lot of TCG players and little kids do NOT enjoy Rush Duels. I feel like Konami is only doing this escape the fact they dont want to create newer Dark Magician support for TCG and avoid creating newer Magician support cards that can be good for it which is upsetting to see. Rush Duels is bad.

Rush is somewhat financially successful for now but Konami wants to push it even more so. The original game is both very expensive to get into and far more complex than it used to be, both alienating to casual or new audiences.
They want to branch out to a simpler and easier to understand game for younger audiences, while also having legacy cards from the first two eras of the game to bring in former players (who may be parents) so they can play together with their kids.
These cards do not take away at legacy support for old themes, especially when these themes get annual or semi annual support anyway. Most of the Rush support is deliberately underpowered and would not work in the existing card game, but can work in Rush format due to the power level being far lower and not having quick monster effects, Quick-Play Spells, Counter and Continuous Traps, no GY effects, only 1 ED summon mechanic where fusing off the field and with a Type specific Fusion spell is a luxury only a few decks can get, etc.
Also Konami can’t resist not making DM support for the OCG/TCG. In fact there is too much support. If anything, the one Magician archetype Konami has actively avoiding going back to is Performage due to a few broken cards in their only wave.

How do you know what the little kids in Japan like, Rodney? Did you ask them? Rush Duel seems to be pretty popular with kids and adults in Japan. I can’t say whether or not it’s financially successful but with the fact that it’s gone on for 3 years now with regular releases, has a semi regularly updated video game and is at tournament level now in Japan for both adults and kids, I’d say that it’s successful. TCG players think it’s bad and that’s fine, but you and your ilk have been at this now ranting and raving about how Rush Duel needs to die and needs to be canceled (and also for some reason that the world is begging for Dark Magician support, it’s not btw) so I gotta wonder when’s the end in sight for you people where you just leave alone the format that has no effect on you or your lives and has only improved the TCG/OCG with its existence. Have you even touched Rush at all or do you just hate on it without proper reason?

Blue-Eyes IS yugioh, so obviously the way to make rush duel instantly successful is to release Blue-Eyes cards.
That being said, there is a Blue-Eyes OCG structure deck coming out later this year.

I agree with top comments above, we only care about new Dark Magician TCG support. Not Rush Duels. HERO got support every single month in every single year and Dark Magician can barely see that every year in any month. Once we do get support, OCG Asians in Konami who hate the DM era, tries to make the cards non playable or very bad competitive wise. Asians ruined YGO.
