CDP: Red Dragon Archfiend Resonator with Bystial, post-SDCK

A Resonator Engine fuels your Absolute Powerforce!

Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for a new Creative Deck Profile, this time centered on showcasing the power of the new Jack Atlas support cards released in his upcoming structure deck, split across the Red Dragon Archfiend and Resonator archetypes. In a sentence, these archetypes combine to Synchro Summon powerful DARK Dragon Synchro Monsters, such as Red Nova Dragon, Red Supernova Dragon, or Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss. To do so, the most important monsters are Crimson Resonator, a Level 2 Tuner that can Special Summon itself from the hand, and Red Rising Dragon, a Level 6 Dragon Synchro that Special Summons a Resonator from your GY when Synchro Summoned. This combo is essential, because while Crimson Resonator is on your field with a DARK Dragon Synchro, it can Special Summon 2 other Resonators from your deck. Previously, this deck required the combo of Crimson and a Level 4 non-Tuner to make this combo happen; however, that’s no longer the case now that Soul Resonator (YGOrg Translation) and Bone Archfiend (YGOrg Translation) have been introduced. As you’ll see in a few of the replays, if you start with a copy of Soul Resonator, you can summon it to tutor Bone Archfiend, then Special Summon Bone, use its effect to send Crimson from the Deck to the GY, and then you have your Red Rising combo ready to go.

Outside of this key new bridge to RDA combos, the rest of the new cards in the deck include Vision Resonator (YGOrg Translation), which tutors a Spell/Trap that mentions Red Dragon Archfiend, and the two cards it searches: Absolute Powerforce (YGOrg Translation) and Red Zone (YGOrg Translation). For the first, a Quick-Play Spell, this is very much a win more card in many cases, but it also can be used alongside Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend to apply heavy pressure on an opponent and get close to winning a duel outright. The second is a Continuous Trap that Special Summons one of your banished DARK Dragon Synchro Monsters. While this of course gives you additional Synchro Material, it also lets you use Red Supernova Dragon‘s effect multiple times during the opponent’s turn, wiping away all their cards each time. As for the rest of the deck, this is composed of Bystial monsters, used as easily-summonable Level 6 and Level 8 non-Tuners, various Level 4s that are easily-summonable, such as Sakitama, Luna the Dark Spirit, and Wandering King Wildwind, or additional support cards to enhance consistency and your combo ceiling, like Synchro World (YGOrg Translation) or Earthbound Prisoner Stone Sweeper (YGOrg Translation). All of these powerful cards come together to embody the spirit of the Crimson King himself, Jack Atlas!
