Strategic Summary:

The Paleozoic theme is unique in many ways, the first of which is their existence as Trap cards that return to the field from the GY as monsters! This grind-heavy deck features more Normal Traps than any other CDP or CDS that I’ve ever presented in a sample deckbuild, and it certainly helps you to control the duel from Turn 1 through the end. In many ways, the Paleozoic theme is great when paired with a powerful alternative engine and win condition, as they can be used to provide serious backrow disruption support to any other theme. As a result, this build in particular showcases the synergy that a full backrow can have with the powerful new Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon coming to the TCG later this month! Dive deep with the Titans of the depths!

If this concept looks familliar to you, it’s because its another CDP revisiting an old CDS of mine! This build serves as a modernized version of an archetype covered by a CDS well back in the past, before the TCG name of the Paleozoic archetype was even known! If you want to take a trip back on memory lane, check out CDS: The Burgesstoma Principle here:

Note: This is continuing the style of Creative Deck Profile articles, designed to showcase a build through replays rather than through a long article. If you wish to see a CDP for an archetype, theme, or strategy you love, feel free to private message me on the YGOrg Discord server, the comments section of any of my YouTube videos, or just post a comment in response to this article on our Facebook page with your ideas to keep under consideration! On most YGO-related communities my username is Quincymccoy, so feel free to reach out.

As of now, I have a couple of outstanding requests that I am looking into: Amazonness, Cardian, Chaos, Witchcrafter, Superheavy Samurai, Sylvan & The Agent.

Hello everybody! I serve as Number VIII of the Organization; however, my primary role on the site is to generate non-news content! Let's keep the endless flood of profiles on undervalued archetypes flowing, shall we?
