CDP: Icejade at Full Power, ft. Icejade Aegirine Rahn

Freeze your opponent’s monster effects!

Strategic Summary:

Welcome to today’s CDP, this time centered on the Icejade archetype. I’ve covered this archetype a couple of times now on my channel, most recently here.

Since that last video, the Icejade archetype has received a few new support cards that greatly boost the pure build seen here today. The first is Icejade Manifestation, a Normal Spell that allows you to Special Summon an Icejade monster directly from your deck whenever your opponent has a monster on the field or GY while you control a WATER monster. As if this archetype needed any more consistency, Manifestation is the cherry on top, giving you exactly what you need whenever you might need it. Additionally, it also has a GY effect to banish an opponent’s card when your opponent makes an Icejade monster leave the field except by being destroyed. This new Spell was paired with a Synchro monster for the archetype – Icejade Gymir Aegirine. Gymir carries a Quick Effect that makes all monsters you control unable to be destroyed or banished by your opponent for the rest of the turn, but if you chain that effect to an opponent’s activation, you get to banish all cards from the field and GY with that activated card’s or effect’s card name. The last key new monster is Icejade Aegirine Rahn (YGOrg Translation), a new Level 7 Tuner that can Special Summon itself from the hand by discarding any WATER monster or Icejade card, and when you do, you get to Special Summon a Level 3 Token, giving you everything you need to Synchro Summon Gymir. It also can be treated as Icejade Cenote Enion Cradle when equipped with an Equip Card, giving you another way to lockdown the opponent with Icejade Curse! Enjoy the Cold Snap with the Icejades!
