This card is always treated as an “Elemental HERO” card. You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
(1) When an attack is declared involving this card and a monster with 2200 or more ATK: You can make this card gain 1000 ATK, then you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand in Defense Position.
(2) If a monster(s) was destroyed by battle this turn (Quick Effect): You can Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field.
Note: This card was revealed on the 21st anniversary of “The Lost Millennium”, the core booster set that “Elemental HERO Flame Wingman” was included in.

Whoever’s making the gx cards must really hate the show or something. Could’ve used this opportunity to make a new neos instead of a flame wingman retrain worse than the last one.
We do not need more Neos fusions. What we need is more varied endboards for the HEROs, and this helps get there. If we want to do something with Neos, then retraining the Neo-Spacians and the OG Neos fusions would be what I’d want. Make the Neo-Spacians actually decent.

On the contrary. Whoever is making these cards loves the show too much. Shining Flare has Fifth Hope’s effect. This is Skyscraper, Signal, and Polymerization.
Ngl all the hero whining in comments makes me happy its a decent super poly target and not much for heroes. Hero players are so entitled after absolute quality of support in maze of muertos.

Not everything needs to do “something” why cant you players just be happy with a card doing “nothing” just a cool nod to the anime, a few references to Judai’s favorite hero, and skyscraper when FW kills AGG.
As you’ve mentioned he can be made with Super Poly, but what bears mentioning in relation to that is that his Fusion effect doesn’t care who destroyed a monster by battle that turn, just that one was, so it’s entirely possible to spring him in the Battle Phase and either fuse using himself and another HERO (for example, Great Tornado so your opponent’s monsters have a harder time dealing with him) or another HERO he’s summoned (bonus points if it’s either Stratos or a Vyon that you then pitch Shadow Mist with).
Alternatively, there’s this to consider for other decks that engage with Fusion: this Wingman doesn’t at any point specify working with Elemental HEROes. He’s a generic Fusion that plays nice with a large number of Decks, primarily ones that work within the same Type but differing Attributes, and if said deck is a Warrior deck it even lets them make Wake Up Your Elemental HERO if they really wanna.
This card’s certainly an odd duck, but I’m not about to say it does nothing when there’s a few interesting hooks to work with.

I can design better cards than Konami with my eyes closed. They may as well stop giving Heros support if they’re intentionally going to make them this bad. What’s the point? Other decks get infinite negates, meanwhile this deck still gets cards that feel like they were designed in 2010. I don’t know why they’re so afraid of giving Heros any good cards. All of its cards are so severely underpowered compared to what other decks are capable of doing. Miracle Ejector was a fluke, don’t know why they designed 1 good Hero card and then though: “Yep, job’s done for this decade. Maybe Hero will get another decent card next decade.”

Why people are mad?
This is very easy to summon, can beat over 99% of monsters in the game and then extend and goes into another fusion. Being battle reliant kind of sucks, but Heroes already have tools for every occasion so it’s not that they can design anything new for Heroes, anyway.
Will it see play? Probably not, but not because it’s OMFGSOBADKONAMIUSUCK!!11 but because Heroes already have issues to squeeze all their good cards into one deck.
Maybe later we will get F-Hero Shining Flame Wingman as followup?

This isn’t doing anything unless you pass to Battle Phase, at which point any competent opponent will remove it with some effect, at which point you pass to Main Phase 2 to try again, at which point your turn is over with no progress made

This is clearly a fun filled anime set for fans of the anime, casual fans, you already have products catered to your type of fanbase, leave the anime set alone bro holy crap.

There are probably decks like Cyber Dragon or Ancient Gear that can make use of the Battle Phase fusion effect.

You know what I’m hoping the remaining main deck Masked HERO’s get released soon in a modern Masked HERO structure deck and its solid enough to fly relatively solo.

This card is great for Super Poly players, as it is one of the missing typing combos! i Imagine the free LV 4 battle summon may come in handy too in rare events, as long somebody can find some interesting mons with weird fast effects. The Shining Flare Wingman remake card was also great, besides the good summoning requirements, it even gave a free + 2 for basically any deck that fusion summons whatsoever… Ironically only Hero players may not find much use for these cards. xD
A second HERO Super Poly target has hit the game.
Sometimes, when reading comments on card reveals, I get the feeling that cards are considered worthless, slop, unplayable, etc. if they don’t focus on OTK or omni-negates.
Is that a sign of the state of the game or the players?

A little of both. With the slowly dropping off of players it’s really hard to find places to play casually anymore – even locals is mostly focused on whats meta. But this is in part of the vicious cycle where the games power creep makes the gap between good decks and casual decks very noticable, so more casual players stop playing, leaving the more dedicated competitive ones still in.
The net result is that if you’re still reading yugioh card spoilers, you’re probably mostly interested in viability, and ftks and negates are what it takes for that.

Now we just need a fusion that needs 2 monsters with different types and attributes
SuperPoly into this (which you finally can despite all the HERO locks), beat over a guy, summon Stratos from hand, search for Shadow Mist, fuse with Shadow Mist into either Sunrise to chain block the Shadow Mist search with the Miracle Fusion search and use Sunrise’s battle phase pop to get rid of another monster, or you fuse to into Thunder Giant Voltic Thunder for a complete board nuke.
This is not the chocolate coated droll nibiru omni negate you all seem to want, but for its intended purpose its pretty good.
What we need is a neos retrain with neo-spacians since they are garbage on their own

I understand that is a Super Poly target given Gx’s plot. But now you’ll see this more in Branded_good_stuff.dekk than the intended archetype.

This card is low-key great with Branded. A good Super Poly target depending on the format, and then you can fuse again with a stray Albaz of White on board to make Mirrorjade or fuse with Aluber to make Dragostapelia. Outside of that application, I don’t see much use for this.

Looking at this card in a vacuum, it’s actually really cool. The idea is you fuse into this using whatever spell (super poly most likely), beat over an opponents monster and summon a dude, then use this and the guy u summoned to make favorite here shining flare wingman, who will likely draw you 2 and then he can attack for a bunch of damage as well. Cool little combo. The problem comes in the fact that this isn’t really hero support at all. It doesn’t help the strategy in any other way than allowing us to run super poly as a breaker, as most of the time you don’t wanna summon your heroes from hand, rather deck or GY and hero already has no problem attacking over big guys so this cards effects are really useless for that strategy. I think the biggest problem with this card is that it works better AGAINST heroes than it does WITH heroes.
You’ve got a good target to make with SPoly even under Evil HERO Infernal Rider lock (y’know, better than Evil HERO Neos Lord), wdym it’s not working with HEROes?
Now all Konami needs to do is to have Battle Phase related support in the form of having high level of protection & Spell Speed 4 on cards with Battle Phase related effects & this card will be highly played. TLDR: Tenpai but generic to decks with a decent bit of Battle Phase related cards.

The effect doesn’t matter, but it will come up. Still, a great superpoly target. I know some hero players will be upset, because it has generic effects, but overall one to look out for.
Feels like this does dnt need to be a HERO card at all with such generic requirements and effects.
Also, I was hoping for another signature move retrain fusion, maybe for Rampart Blaster or Mudball Man.

This card is actually great design-wise. It substitutes the lack of a Link-1 with the usage of super poly, let’s remind you a GX Jaden/Yubel card.
HERO players have the tendency to whine about absolutely everything because they want the deck to be a permanent tier 0 threat but the second a card should be hit on the banlist they cry.
Do you want to play HERO forever like a true passionate HERO duelist or do you want a slop format where HERO is good and then forgot to time? Remember Dragonic Contact in Duel Links?
Konami couldn’t even do that because it’s a LEGACY DECK piloted by one of the most bloved protagonists and so it must receive support every year endlessly.
