My take on a future meta contender.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and this time I’m dipping my toes into a slightly more competitive build than most of my standard profiles. It all focuses around the new Orcust support cards that have the potential to elevate the Orcust archetype into a top tier deck, so let’s start there. First up is Galatea-i, the Orcust Automaton (YGOrg Translation), a LINK-1 that enables access to Orcustrated Babel during any standard Orcust combo. This is huge, as it allows you to dedicate your Galatea, the Orcust Automaton search to Orcust Crescendo on your first turn, giving your endboard another negate. The other new card is the LINK-4 Enlingirsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight (YGOrg Translation), which recovers a banished Orcust card, then gives you the option to steal control of an opponent’s monster. This allows the deck even more recovery than it already had, now being able to recycle your Crescendo as well when a game drags long. But let’s be honest with ourselves – the new Orcust deck doesn’t want games to go long, not when it has this much additional power from the supportive engines at play today.
In terms of those engines, I’m going to start with the Mekk-Knight cards. While of course Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight is a staple in all Orcust builds, the power of this engine comes in the form of World Legacy’s Secret, a Continuous Trap that negates an opponent’s monster effect that activates in the same column as a Mekk-Knight monster. Combine this with your new LINK-4, Girsu, and even Mekk-Knight Indigo Eclipse, and you’ll be able to negate monster effects at will, especially after you factor in Orcust Cymbal Skeleton which can Special Summon them at will during the opponent’s turn with Babel on the field. The second engine is the Fiendsmith, and while it does take a lot of space in the Extra Deck, they’re definitely worth it to add a multi-card negate in Fiendsmith’s Desirae, additional disruption options, and another discard option in Fiendsmith in Paradise. Speaking of discard options, that’s where the Horus and Nightmare Apprentice engine come in – they’re both designed to get dead cards out of your hand, further your gamestate, and clean up the one weakness older Orcust decks used to have on occasion. Both engine just also happen to gift you at least 2 free monsters for your troubles. Hope you enjoy the rogue flex with today’s profile, but if not, I’ll catch you next time with my follow-up CDP on a revitalized Dragon archetype.
