The first wave was better but the new Xyz makes a lot more sense now as you are meant to rank it into Poseidra Abyss.
Yep this definitely confirms we’re not getting the revival structure deck for the Atlantean Structure Deck.
We have a total of 8 support cards now, which implies there was a planned structure deck that they scrapped and split up into main sets.
In a perfect world harpies and mist valleys get 1 card each. But huh, naur
It would be nice if the ONLY Sea-Serpent theme in the whole game got focused sea-serpent support instead of tri-type with fish and aqua…
Ironically, what bothers me a bit about Sea Serpent/Aqua/Fish in OCG/TCG is the fact that all the Monsters are WATER. I get it, it makes sense and there’s a connection, but it feels kind of boring.
Something similar happens with Shark/Nash Deck: it’s a combination of WATER Fish/Aqua/Sea Serpent, where Fish predominates.
I don’t know. I liked the approach that Abysslayer and Abysskite (two from Rush Duels) had better: where they are DARK Sea Serpent and LIGHT Sea Serpent respectively (and their support only works with Sea Serpent Monsters)
Please do not mention those 2 Rush monsters again, It is a WATER Deck, and that is how it is. There is a few WATER Locks in the playstyle that make it this way. Konami blessed up, be happy.
The issue isn’t that it’s a Water deck, it’s that Fish, Sea Serpent and Aqua might as well be the same type in the OCG/TCG. Other than Ryuge which is it’s own set of 3 types I can’t think of any decks of those types that don’t also feature the others.
Sea Serpent decks in Rush at least differentiate themselves from Aqua and Fish decks.
@bound you’ll have a hard time getting Bruno to not mention them. It’s like tic. He’ll randomly mention something “curious” about rush duels at a funeral or about vanguard. Weirdo.
Yall hilarious 🤣🤣
@Bound. I mean… Doesn’t the user say in his comment that he understands why Atlantean/Mermail are WATER, but at the same time makes it clear that almost every Fish/Sea Serpent/Aqua Deck that exists in OCG/TCG is WATER, getting to be tiring?
In that regard, I agree. Ghoti could have been LIGHT/DARK Fish instead of the generic WATER Fish (and that LIGHT/DARK is the most overused attribute in Yu-Gi-Oh, but they don’t use it with some Monster Types)
@Naransolongo_BB. I think the triforce of Aqua/Fish/Sea Serpent comes from DM with the existence of Mako. And well… everyone knows: what comes from DM is sacred and cannot be criticized. Shark exists with this triforce, but I give him a pass because he is a Rival that uses a different Deck than the standard one that is Dragon or Fiend: in this case, Fish.
And yes, the format that just by mentioning it makes some people go into crisis or anger has done a better job with their Sea Serpent Decks (giving more uniqueness)
@Design. I didn’t know it was a sin to talk about or mention Rush Duels. It’s like saying it’s a sin to talk about the exclusive support OCG/TCG Decks receive in Rush Duels in their respective posts (however, in those posts you always see the same people complaining about Rush Duels or wishing they would disappear. There is no Rush Duels player who has said anything against or aggressive towards OCG/TCG and their players)
And what does Vanguard have to do with this if it wasn’t even mentioned in the conversation?
But hey, opinions are respected and everyone is free to express their ideas/comments.
It’s a valid point that sea serpents should get more mono type stuff or pairings with other types beyond the water and draconic types. Dinosaurs and Reptiles were once linked but now are pretty distinct.
@Bruno, you made me miss Dark Aqua, Which are freakin Tearlaments
Also, Satchmo, please tag your articles under OCG&TCG and New Cards
I think this confirms that Atlantean Structure was scrapped and support for the Deck was split into two Main Packs.
The plan for the deck to be scrapped must of been last minute since we never got a Revival Structure deck this year at all.
The Trap is undoubtedly supposed to be ‘Abyss-steam’. All of the “Abyss-” backrow have the second halves of their names begin with S, with most (if not all) of them having a double meaning (‘sphere’ > fear, ‘squall’ > call, ‘steam’ > team).
So does this mean we’re getting the Chaos Dragon or Cyber Dragon structure deck next year?
No. No more. Please. No more dragon decks. No more machine decks. And nothing from after SD24. Go backwards for the revival decks – Invincible Fortress and Lord of the Storm. Don’t repeat characters that already have decks for new SDs! Konami introduces like 12 new themes a year, minimum. There should NEVER be a repeat deck in the main SD series. That’s what the Revival series is for.
Literally no one wants a remake of Invincible Fortress.
Cyber dragon doesn’t need a remake. They have 3 structure deck already they don’t need a 4th one. Structure with cyberdark and the tactical Masters cyber dragon are both count as a cyber dragon structure deck.
What? More?
So Poseidra used the o be a slightly weaker badass in the past. That’s interesting trivia.
Penguin or gate guardian support?
This is supposed to be the next wave support after SD R atlantean but got cancelled
I don’t know if Atlantean/Mermail can compete with this current Meta, but it’s good to know that Konami hasn’t easily left it out of the Deck.
Ctrl + F “Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon” not found. I’ll pass then. Nice navel though.
New Poseidra can’t even be summoned by atlantean tridon, day ruined smfh..
(tbf rhine is basically a retrained tridon but still)
also wish the new one still had the bounce spells effect to be honest, would make the deck much more versatile (if special summoned instead of the old poseidra’s special summon off 3)
