Trapholic can destroy itself as the target
It’s sad that Lab is a trap deck but the only real trap card it plays is karma cannon. Can we just get a powerful trap disruption like karma cannon that doesn’t floodgate our opponent? Equation cannon was cool but it is completely useless against decks like ryzeal and maliss.

Realistically this is a 1 of if at all, destroying 1 of your spells/traps sounds bad on paper.
Not if you destroy your face-down Waking The Dragon!
Unless you hit your Lab cards or cards that can also be activated.
There’s no point of being worried when you targeted the already live trap cards like Welcome and Farwelcome, or even cards like Waking.
The only downside is you cannot literally start with this and your gonna choose between traps like Daruma/Ice Prison or this card to for the next turn if you only got traps like these that really can’t be activated on their own.
Waking The Dragon has to leave the field by your opponent’s card effect for it to activate.

No? Not really. Do remember: you can always activate trap cards in response to most card activations, so you can just chain the card you’re targeting to not waste it, and get an additional trap (but more telegraphed) to activate in that turn. Or as someone pointed out, you can dodge out of cards that target your backrow to negate them AND also get something extra to trigger in that moment.
Also, for the people sick in the head that play a bunch of trap floodgates, this allows them to remove a counterproductive one and cycle in an InfImp or something more relevant to their situation immediately afterwards.
The best part of the card is the fact you can activate the trap you set in exchange immediately afterwards if you have 3 traps in grave already, which should be the norm on any deck that would consider to use this card in the main.

Trapholic can also target itself for destruction. So you can use Trapholic to dodge the effects of cards that negate face up cards (e.g. Desirae or Drillbeam) or to target itself to swap out for another normal trap.
I have received new information that Trapholic might not be able to target itself for destruction, like how Mystical Space Typhoon cannot target itself.

Ties really well into the Lady Labrynth alt art we got in the Quarter Century Art Collection back in February.
You can chain this to your other Traps on activation or even Rollback.
Still no sign of the unknown Servant or Butler, however.

I really like the card, but most Labrynth builds won’t. It doesn’t fit any niche of what the deck wants. It’s a bad card for Arias, it brings little value except for evading targeting effects like Drillbeam, it doesn’t trigger anything except for the field spell and it isn’t more searchable than any other normal trap. At best it’ll be used to pop Rollback or Black Goat and that’s about it.
But hell, if this isn’t some decent Paleo or even Traptrix support.

While its true that Lady can search any normal trap, you still need to wait a turn to us it. With this card you don’t have that problem .
That’s why some builds play Trap Trick and this card is literally Trap Trick without any of the downsides.
You absolutely play 3 of these in lab.
Also it literally every effect in the deck. How? Set dogmaticka punishment, set IDP ,set Big Welcome …
Playable going first. But the Lab engine will tutor out what you need.
Unplayable going second. I rather set Trap Trick or any other blow-out trap that will stop my opponent.

When they released butler, one naturally thought she was gonna be soon, too. But nope. Over a year or more, I don’t remember how much time it’s been, since we got Butler and other random stuff about Labrynth but not the other one. I think the Lovely Lady alt art even hints at it, too. They didn’t forget her. So what the hell…

The effect is pretty strong since you can chain it to activating card, but 3+ traps restriction is rough.
Why would it never just target itself? Surely it’s supposed to be a “One other trap you control”.
Really good effect, activate big welcome and chain this to any drillbeam or things like that. You instantly have 2 traps in the gy and dodged the drillbeam.
Very late in realizing this is very much a “trap” archetype indeed
