    The braveheart returns.

Who’s the Bravest of the Brave?

The bravest of the brave? The Duelist willing to risk it all on a roll of the dice, the flip of a coin, or a spin of the dial? Joey Wheeler, that’s who! And a new reimagining of Joey’s favorite cards is here for Beyond the Brave.

Joey’s new cards all revolve around the Dark Time Wizard Spell Card! This card celebrates Joey’s bravest Duels against Rex, Mai, Bonz, Espa Roba, Mako, and Odion. Dark Time Wizard itself is a Quick-Play Spell Card with two effects. You get to choose one effect when you activate it; one is safe, the other risky!

    • The first effect adds another card from your Deck to your hand that mentions Dark Time Wizard. (That means Swiftwind Panther Warrior, Alligator’s Dragon Knight, Jinzo – Energy Shocker, Fisherman of Legend, Graceful & Skull Dice, Sleepy Scapegoats, Foolish Graverobber, or Reversal Box!) Then, during the End Phase, Dark Time Wizard rewinds time (but just for itself!) to place a Dark Time Wizard from your Graveyard back into your hand.
    • The second effect calls on Joey’s favorite gal, Lady Luck herself! You’ll toss a coin, and if you win the coin toss you destroy all your opponent’s monsters, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half those monsters’ combined original Attack Points. If you call it wrong, your monsters are destroyed (but on the bright side, you won’t take any damage). Since Dark Time Wizard is a Quick-Play Spell, this can be done on either player’s turn, so if you’re in a bad situation, you might as well go for broke!
    • (As an extra bonus, if any monsters are destroyed by Dark Time Wizard, you can Tribute a monster from either player’s field to Special Summon the new Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck! So even if you lose the coin toss, you can still get this 3400 ATK behemoth into play. It’s immune to your opponent’s activated Spell & monster effects, and Summons any Level 8 or lower monster from your hand or Graveyard.)

Aster Phoenix is another famously brave Duelist, who avenged his father and turned the tables on his mentor. Beyond the Brave comes with reimagined “Destiny HERO” cards you can add to your Deck!

    • Destiny HERO – Doom Overlord still banishes an opponent’s monster, but also grabs “Clock Tower Prison” or the new Dark City at Midnight from your Deck.
    • Destiny HERO – Destro-Dogma can be Special Summoned (with 3400 ATK) from your hand or Graveyard, and if you activate his effect, your opponent takes 2000 damage in the next Standby Phase. Also, if your opponent activates a card or effect, you can Fusion Summon a DARK or Warrior monster, using materials from your hand, field, and/or Graveyard.
    • Destiny HERO – Dreadnought Master adds 2 cards from your Deck to your hand that are (or mention) Destiny HEROes. His “?” ATK becomes the total original ATK of all “Destiny HERO” monsters in your field and Graveyard.

So, if Aster Phoenix is your guy, Beyond the Brave has you covered!

Discover the secrets of the deepest oceans, and the ancient link between Atlantis and Daedalus!

    • Atlantis, City of the Sea Dragon reduces all monster Levels in both players’ hands and fields by 1, to really mess up your opponent’s Extra Deck Summoning plans! This Field Spell Card also lets you Link Summon Azure Ocean Dragon Lord – Neo-Daedalus Rage or Levia-Dragoon – Daedalus for 1 less material than normal. Atlantis can also rise from beneath the waves again and again, by returning itself to the field from your Graveyard!
    • Azure Ocean Dragon Lord – Neo-Daedalus Rage can Special Summon up to 3 monsters from your Graveyard that mention Atlantis.
    • Levia-Dragoon – Daedalus Special Summons a monster straight from your Deck that mentions Atlantis.

Additionally, all these cards (except Atlantis itself) have their names become “Umi” while on the field. And each lets you do different things with your “Umi” cards (which is all of them!).

    • Azure Ocean Dragon Lord – Neo-Daedalus Rage becomes “Umi” and you can send an “Umi” to the Graveyard to send all cards on the field to the Graveyard that aren’t “Umi”.
    • Levia-Dragoon – Daedalus becomes “Umi” and you can send an “Umi” to the Graveyard to make your opponent redraw their hand.
    • And the reimagined Leviathan of Atlantis – Daedalus becomes “Umi”, and lets you trade up to 3 “Umi” you control for 3 cards from your Deck that mention Atlantis – then destroy any card on the field!
    • There are 3 more monsters that become “Umi” and mention Atlantis (plus the Advent of Atlantis Continuous Spell Card), so you’ll have plenty of “Umi” to flood the field.

Drag your foes through Ashtrashen – Gate to the Worlds Beyond and besiege them with terrifying Traps! Summon the “Ashtra” monsters by just showing your opponent 1 of your face-down cards and returning it to your hand (or Extra Deck). However, if it was a Spell or Trap, you can just place it face-down again. You can bring all the most devastating Traps you own and use them with ruthless efficiency in this Deck!

If one of your Traps isn’t quite what you need right now, use Akasuna the Battle Ashtra to send it to the Graveyard to flip all your opponent’s monsters face-down. (Also, in addition to their main effects, every “Ashtra” Trap Card can be Summoned as a Tuner monster, giving you lots of strategic options!)

Between the fiery rage of Ashtraja Susanoo and the cold precision of Ashtraya Mikumari-no-Mikoto, no card is safe from this theme’s Synchro Monsters! Banish your opponent’s cards en masse or single out a problem card and send it to the Graveyard, all while finding and Setting more Trap Cards to confound your opponent!

You can enhance the “Ashtra” strategy – and any Trap-based strategy – with Audhumla, Progenitor of the Frozen Expanse! As long as there are 4 or more cards on the field, you can Summon Audhumla, and swap out up to 2 Spells/Traps you don’t need for fresh draws! This effect works even better in strategies with WATER monsters since you get a bonus Special Summon of a WATER monster when you do it. And if you want to make absolutely sure your Traps stay in place until you need them, flip Audhumla face-down to protect your face-down cards from targeting and destruction for the turn! (Bonus: This world premiere card comes with an extended art version!)

Speaking of world premiere cards, is that… a GREY king? He doesn’t seem to care whose side he’s on!

Finally, Beyond the Brave has a few cards to fill in the holes of some existing Decks. Look for Verre, the Maid of Endymion to team with Regulus, the Prince of Endymion from Battles of Legend: Glorious Gallery. Add Clown Crew Cappello to your “Clown Crew” Deck from Blazing Dominion, or toss Predaplant Daredevil in with Blazing Dominion’s “Predaplant” cards!
