Note: This card’s name appears to be a reference to Omega Summon (Magical Name – “To Mega Therion” in Japan). It is not part of the Therion theme (Therions in Japan).
Specifically, the real Aleister Crowley used this as an alias, as part of his shtick of being the “Most wicked man in the world”, as To Mega Therion means “The Great Beast”, another name used for The Beast of Revelation in the Bible.
The Beast from the bible itself is more likely a name attributed to the Roman Empire writ large but more specifically Emperor Nero, who was a major enemy of the Christian Church at the time Revelations was written.

Also, this card indicates they aren’t trying to blend both Decks. Not really. At least not right now. What they made here is a card that works in either individual Deck.

Kind of an underwhelming card. Banishing an ED monster from your GY to only banish monsters is weak, and the equipping being attached to floating is abrasive to Magistus’ strategy. In Invoked this is just a worse Augoeides. Seems like Konami is afraid of making the Aleister engine good again so they gimped this card which is incredibly lame but whatever.
To the doomers for this card:
If you go second with invoked it is a pivot to Magistus since you link Aleister into Artemis, invocation to banish from the opponent’s grave and aleister from yours, now the Artemis equips to Omega.
As for the floating effect, it would’ve been much better if it didn’t say this fusion summoned card, and it just let Endymion equip to self, then Endymion second eff pop it to summon from deck, but sadly it doesn’t. It still can be triggered by calamity GY effect. And is like the only bit of floating this archetype has so it’s not unappreciated.
This is significantly easier to summon than Augoeides.

So, this card’s name, Therion. Its a reference to a demon the real life Aleister Crowley claimed to have a contract with, Master Therion. Honestly, its surprising it took this long for Konami to make a card based on Master Therion.
