Structure Deck R “Curse of the Dark” Special Feature
“STRUCTURE DECK R – Curse of the Dark –” (on sale March 10th, 2018) is a preconstructed Deckthat contains powerful DARK monsters and designed to let you fight using the various “Viruses”! By Tributing the DARK monsters on your field, you can make your ace monster appear from the hand or GY, or easily create combos with each card in this Deck.
It combines cards from the previously popular Structure Deck “Curse of Darkness”(*), but renews it with brand new cards!

An Intense New Ace Monster Appears!
The new ace monster, “Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair” appears! By Tributing allies with other cards, this Dragon monster can bring itself out from the hand or GY with 3000 ATK, and it combines powerful effects to defend it and attack the opponent’s hand!!
A 3000 ATK Monster That Can Easily Special Summon Itself! Its Effects To Protect Itself And Attack The Opponent’s Hand Are Intense!!
Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair
[ATK 3000/DEF 2000]
Your opponent cannot Tribute this card, also they cannot target it with card effects. You can only use each of the following effects of “Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair” once per turn.
● If a DARK monster(s) you control is Tributed: You can Special Summon this card from the GY (if it was there when that monster was Tributed) or hand (even if not).
● You can Tribute 1 DARK monster; your opponent places 1 card from their hand on either the top or bottom of their Deck.
A Field Spell That Enhances Tactics & A New “Virus” Appear!
The new Field Spell is quite intense… … it turns everything on the field DARK and lets you swallow up your opponent’s monsters!! Also a new “Virus” that disrupts your opponent appears!
All Monsters On The Field Become DARK And It Creates Intense Combos By Letting You Tribute Your Opponent’s Monsters!
Lair of Darkness
All face-up monsters on the field become DARK. Once per turn, if you would Tribute a monster(s) to activate a card or effect, you can Tribute 1 DARK monster your opponent controls as if you controlled it. Once per turn, during the End Phase: Special Summon as many “Shadow Tokens” (Fiend/DARK/Level 3/ATK 1000/DEF 1000) as possible to the turn player’s field in Defense Position, up to the number of monsters that were Tributed this turn while this card was face-up on the field.
It Has An Intense Effect To Destroy Your Opponent’s Hand And Deck As Well As Their Drawn Monster Cards!
Grinning Grave Virus
Tribute 1 DARK monster with 3000 or less ATK; your opponent destroys 1 card in their hand and/or Deck for every 500 ATK the Tributed monster had on the field, also if you Tributed a monster with 2000 or more ATK, check all cards your opponent draws until the end of their 3rd turn after this card’s activation, and destroy all monsters among them. Cards destroyed and sent to the GY by this card’s effect cannot activate their effects during the turn they were destroyed.
Monsters With Effects That Enhance Strategies And Allow Intense Combos!
Powerful new monsters also appear that have effects that activate by tributing DARK monsters you control! By making use of these effects, you can aim for intense combos as well as bring out “Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair”!
It Has 2 Effects To Add Core Tactical Cards To Your Hand That Lead To Explosive Plays!
Ahrima, the Wicked Warden
[ATK 1700/DEF 0]
You can discard this card; add 1 “Lair of Darkness” from your Deck to your hand. You can Tribute 1 DARK monster; draw 1 card, but if you Tributed a DARK monster other than this card, you can add 1 DARK monster with 2000 or more DEF from your Deck to your hand instead. You can only use this effect of “Ahrima, the Wicked Warden” once per turn.
By Combining It With “Lair of Darkness”, You Can Tribute Your Opponent’s Monster To Special Summon It From The Hand!
Duke Shade, the Sinister Shadow Lord
[ATK 500/DEF 2000]
You can Tribute any number of DARK monsters; Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, it gains 500 ATK for each Tributed monster. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 Level 5 or higher DARK monster in your GY; add it to your hand. You can only use each effect of “Duke Shade, the Sinister Shadow Lord” once per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate either of this card’s effects, except DARK monsters.
Set Any Normal Trap From Your Deck! Also Note Its ATK And Effect Which Support Activating The Various “Virus”es!
Lilith, Lady of Lament
[ATK 2000/DEF 0]
The original ATK of this Normal Summoned card becomes 1000. (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 DARK monster; reveal 3 Normal Traps from your Deck, your opponent randomly picks 1 for you to Set to your field, and you shuffle the rest back into your Deck. You can only use this effect of “Lilith, Lady of Lament” once per turn.

(*) Writer’s Note: This Structure Deck was previously only printed in Japan due to the fact Crush Card Virus was a Shonen Jump Prize card worth thousands and thousands of dollars at the time this Deck would of been printed in the TCG, had it been. One can naturally see why the TCG skipped it in favor of importing the new cards in a major Booster pack.
