“Hanayome Ningyo” is not a hand trap?

She may look like a ghost sister, but she’s actually a doll.

AVOG-JP026 Hanayome Ningyo
EARTH Spellcaster/Tuner/Effect
Level 3 0/2100
(1) When you draw this card: You can reveal it; Special Summon it.
(2) At the start of the Battle Phase: If you have more cards in your Deck than your opponent does, this card gains ATK equal to the current difference x 300 until the end of this turn.
(3) During the End Phase, if this card is in your GY because it was sent there this turn: Place it on the top of the Deck.

TL Note: A hanayome ningyo (花嫁人形, lit. “bride doll”) is a doll made up to look like a bride, and allegedly has a traditional use as a stand-in “spouse” for the deceased (as in, a “bride” to the dead person themselves). Instead of the normal kanji for “bride”, this card’s name uses three other kanji to make up a different hana-yo-me: 離 (from hanareru, “to detach, to separate”), 世 (from yo, “world, this life”), and 召 (from mesu, here meaning “to call, to summon”). In other words, you could say this is a bridal doll who’s taking the initiative in getting her spiritual spouse.

I’ve come to accept yokai will become an official type outside gx manga long before air elemental does.

Unfortunately it won’t, but it’s fun that I just told this to a friend of mine. Almost every Yokai has already been released as a Zombie, so there’d be no sense in introducing them now nor in retraining recent cards.

So at the start, if you draw this in your opening 5, you get to SS it?

I imagine this card will work like Lappis Dragon, where it can’t be Special Summoned if it is part of the opening hand

Ah yes, finally, the card that will counter decks like tearlaments. Now they won’t mill as much in fear of this terrible otk machine.
