Where’s the Vaal stuff they actually need it.
Vaalmonica is a backrow heavy theme so if they do get support in here it’s likely through those.
I like when they can’t come up with unique secondary boss monsters for certain decks they just slap a fusion into it
Fusions actually make contextual sense for this theme, though.
Memento is about legacy monsters from the earliest days of the game, nearly all of them originating back when their card boxes were different.
Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon is one such monster. Fusion has always been in the game so we would get Mementolan Fusions. I would not be shocked if we would eventually get a Mementolan Ritual at some point
Ehm these cards are busted
I’m convinced among fusion spells that don’t use the deck as material, this spell is the best one ever printed.
Huh. Use this, do the combo, Destroy this card then float to proceed more comboes, Summon Netherskull to bounce this card back to the ed from the gy, set the spell back so you can do it again in the next turn to search the quick effect Snatch Steal/Protection and another memento.
What i meant about the Spell is the Fusion spell used in the same turn, since Memento can easily recur it 2x in a single turn via the field spell and spookuriboh.
That’s 3 new support cards before Centurion or Vaalmonica
Centur-Ion is all but guaranteed to get support in here. We have an archetype Synchro spot and a few DBP slots still reserved in here. My guess is that Wednesday’s reveal will be the Centur-Ion support.
Vaalmonica is unique because it is a backrow heavy theme with very few monsters and we do have some room left in here for Spells (cards 64-67).
What’s the third? Is it for Memento?
Nvm I just remember it’s the kuriboh looking one revealed ages ago.
Okey where is my Memento Fusionist Konami?
Nice, you can summon this with thunder dragon fusion.
forbidden memories bros we are so back
After reading over these and the rest of the archetype multiple times, do these even make them better? I’m not saying they need to be broken, but this stuff doesn’t exactly make them better, and the entire archetype just seems destined for failure. Hopefully the second wave of support gives them something to latch onto other than summoning a big, relatively hard to summon monster with no protections.
This IS the second wave of support, they got a single monster in Phantom Nightmare, but yes, this is HUGE for them. Being able to shuffle back two in the GY to fusion summon a monster which can destroy a memento, including itself, to search any two monsters and then banish the fusion spell for a spell/trap search is very good. It basically all but guarantees you will get to Cranium Burst and a summonable Combined Creation. Twin Dragon is also not a bad target to reborn with Combined Creation during the opponent’s turn for its banish by battle effect provided it survives to your next turn.
These cards turn Mementotlal Goblin into a one card Combined Creation, or can potentially do even bigger plays with more cards in hand to work with
Goblin can put up a more than just Combined Creation.
You can go:
Normal Sum Goblin, destroy Goblin dump Attic + Fusion.
Sp Sum Attic + Add Fusion.
Fusion Summon using Attic and shuffle back Goblin.
Destroy Twin Headed > from here you can branch out into all sorts of options depending on your hand. Here is just one variation and it’s probably not even the best.
Add Horsey and Combined, Sp Sum Attic.
Destroy Attic with Fusion spell, add Bone Party.
Destroy Combined with Bone Party, Sp Summon Dark Blade.
Destroy Dark Blade, Sp Sum Witch, add Tri-Horned.
Sp Sum Horsey. Sp Sum Tri-Horn.
Horsey destroy Tri-Horned, dump anything (including Mace), then Tri-Horn can destroy Horsey and 2 face-up cards opponent controls.
Destroy Witch, Sp Sum Mace.
Destroy Mace, add Cranium Burst/Fracture Dance.
Sp Sum Combined from GY shuffling back whatever 2-ofs are in GY, Mace and Goblin. So you still have Twin-Headed, Dark Blade and Angwitch in GY for Combined to Sp Summon on opponent’s turn. (dark blade = destroy spell/trap if you have a memento to discard. Angwitch = Goblin/Mace search to activate on opponent’s turn. Twin Headed = banish their monster when they are forced to battle under Cranium Burst – prevents most floating effects and recursion).
If you add Cranium Burst you get the monster negates. If you add Fracture Dance you can destroy Tri-Horned and 1 opponent’s card (or just two opponent’s cards), then activate Tri-Horned to destroy Creation and 2 opponent’s face up cards (or if you summoned back a monster from GY with Creation, you can destroy it instead of Creation).
Here’s what this end board looks like: https://i.imgur.com/BCvuACC.png with 4 cards still in hand (5 if going second ofc).
Normal Summon Goblin.
Activate Goblin, destroy Goblin dump Attic & Fusion Spell.
Activate Attic, Sp Summon Attic.
Activate Attic, Add Fusion Spell.
Activate Fusion Spell, summon Twin-Headed using Attic and shuffle back Goblin.
Activate Twin-Headed, destroy Twin Headed > from here you can branch out into all sorts of options depending on your hand. Here is just one variation and it’s probably not even the best.
Add Horsey and Combined Creation, Sp Summon Attic from GY.
Activate Fusion Spell, destroy Attic, add Bone Party.
Activate Bone Party, destroy Combined Creation, Sp Summon Dark Blade.
Activate Dark Blade, destroy Dark Blade, Sp Summon Witch. > You can destroy a Spell/Trap here too if you have a Memento to discard.
Activate Witch, add Tri-Horned > You could also add Goblin/Mace.
Activate Horsey, Sp Summon Horsey.
Sp Sum Tri-Horned.
Activate Horsey, destroy Tri-Horned (or Horsey), dump any monsters not already in GY, including Mace.
Activate Tri-Horned, destroy Horsey and 2 face-up opponent’s card (I destroyed Horsey with Horsey in the above screenshot).
Activate Witch, destroy Witch, Sp Summon Mace from GY.
Activate Mace, destroy Mace add Cranium Burst or Fracture Dance.
Sp Summon Combined Creation from GY, shuffling back whatever you like. > I like to keep Twin-Headed, Dark Blade and Angwitch in GY for Combined Creation to Sp Summon on opponent’s turn if presented the chance.
You will still have 4 or 5 (if going second) cards in hand.
If you add Cranium Burst you get the monster negates. If you add Fracture Dance you can destroy Tri-Horned (if you didn’t destroy it with Horsey) and 1 opponent’s card (or just two opponent’s cards), then activate Tri-Horned to destroy Combined Creation and 2 opponent’s face up cards. Or, if you summoned a monster from GY with Combined Creation, you can destroy it instead.
