Medius is probably Medium, a compound pun on artistic mediums and spiritual mediums given he’s revived and fused with this deity. Speaking of, his revival curiously hints to an Xyz theme. And of course, Shadow’s Light target him summon Star Seraph Scepter

WHYYYYY do they keep making non-OPT effects. That seems to be the new power creep in Yu-Gi-Oh! and I’m sick of it.

      • Mayowashidori on April 9, 2025 3:47 am

Bro is literally yapping all of these have hard OPTs

      • Americarnaud on April 9, 2025 8:29 am

No they don’t. The Field Spell and Nerva aren’t hopt. But Nerva can only be Special Summoned once per turn so thats that

      • Yod on April 9, 2025 10:08 am

Gotta love that the field spell is one of those “lock, then do everything” effects like mayakashi, which can just loop through all appropriate cards in the deck

Obviously the Mikanko enjoyer would be thick as pigsh!t.

If this is the new Lore Archetype, judging by the Spell/Trap Cards, the Female Lead (Finemelt) of the Story will:

      a) Die/Sacrifice herself for the MC.
      b) Be possessed/Brainwashed by a Evil Force.
      c) Be the Bad Guy/Be a Traitor.

      • Samurex on April 9, 2025 12:32 am

Medius rewrote this story, he gave his own life for Finemelt

It’s more like graphlare’s the salty one in this story, look at him at the Succession spell card, it looks like he’s about to mess up this friendship, this will feel like those Fantasy series that has jealousy drama like this

I havent really payed attention to the art that much but i think that medius isnt as innocent as we think, i mean if he really was good wouldnt they make him a light type? Instead they made him a dark type so i think he could be hiding smth since dark is usually signifying evil, but thats just a theory

    6. User on April 9, 2025 12:27 am

      Branded 2.0?

Also the trap acts as branded loss and a interruption in the gy,cute.

So… the lv4 fairy isn’t a member of Artmegia and doesn’t even mention the archetype in effects. And yet he is shown as the hero in various card arts.

Yeah i can see the “you’re the chosen one even thought you are a poor kid and whatever” trope here

      • Samurex on April 9, 2025 12:33 am

How so very Albaz of them. He’s a spiritual/divine medium, hence Nerva reviving him.

      • N on April 9, 2025 12:35 am

Yes, this is very much in tune with past protagonists like Visas and Albaz, who are supported by multiple archetypes even if they aren’t part of them.
This is very likely the first of many lore archetypes for this card. Medius will be connected to several Imprisoned Deity Beasts, each focused on a summon method and archetype.

      • BadSoup on April 9, 2025 12:40 am

The Continuous spell can target it and become Artmegia.

Sounds like he is just a vagrant and gets “enrolled by accident”.

      • yukicrewger2 on April 9, 2025 2:23 am

@BadSoup So like the opening plot to Twisted Wonderland?

    9. Anon on April 9, 2025 12:30 am

This really feels like the south of the Abyss they didn’t touch in S1 of Albaz, and teased with a S2. Plus when I hear “Medius the Innocent”, I immediately think “Ecclesia, the Virtuous” or “Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous”.

    10. CMClueless on April 9, 2025 12:32 am

From the outset this archetype is insanely cohesive, has lots of search power, and viable interaction on both its base line monsters and its Extra deck monsters. Very much anticipate this climbing into top tiers fairly fast.

    11. Venom on April 9, 2025 12:36 am

Is it just me or is anyone else getting “Sevens Road” vibes for these guys, if so I’m hoping that if we get a gen10 yugioh show are protagonist/one of their friends are armed with this archetype as it would be a great way to represent the rush duel format if they don’t want to put master duelling and rush in the same universe despite how fun it would be to see introductions between the formats.

      • Antarctica Continental Champion on April 9, 2025 1:01 am

So witchcrafter/advenrurer 2.0 Mixed with PUNK artstyle wise?

      • Design on April 9, 2025 1:37 am

Nope, just you. 🤡🤡🤡 clown tier comment

      • Design on April 9, 2025 1:55 am

How would this represent rush dueling as a format when its a master duel deck and made in a way that clearly cannot be ported to rush duel? I came back just to say this comment is dumb. The art doesn’t resemble sevens road in any way, not in color, style or themeing. The cards themselves don’t even resemble sevens road by effect either. It’s literally just standard archetype stuff. It’s closer to Vaylantz than Sevens road. Dumb.

There’s not a lot of interactions they can do between the formats either. The master duel character would win every time through sheer strength of effects. What are you expecting to have happen for an interaction? Master duel already existed in the rush duel universe but got changed for rush duel.

        Dumb.

      • Sanokal on April 9, 2025 4:17 am

I don’t get the Sevens Road vibes from the theme, but they do slightly evoke the notion of the Legend of the SEVENS that they were based on in-universe.

This took a huge bite out of the remaining set numbers.

      These are the last slots.

      1 monster (26) – Probably Morgana
4 monsters (28-31) – Includes Wake Cup Mocha, Angry Burger, and 2 Lunalight Fusions
2 legacy Fusions (35-36) – Primite Dragon Nether Berzelius and First of the Dragonlords
      1 Synchro (41) – Star Ham

“Once per turn, when you activate an “Artmegia” monster’s effect (Quick Effect): You can make that effect become “Destroy all cards your opponent controls”.”, has there ever been a card that does this? Quick effect changes only your monster’s effects?

    20. J. D. Guy on April 9, 2025 1:05 am

The 2000’s/early-2010’s JRPG aesthetic is right up my alley. Love that!

I also appreciate the thesis statement given in how the Deck operates. In order to get and maintain the strongest version of the effects/Monsters, gathering and maintaining a diverse pool of them in play is vital. And each of these characters are different art majors alongside being different Monster Types. They all help facilitate each other and make each other stronger by their collective presence.

That’s really flavorful and extremely cool!

    21. Tinkerer on April 9, 2025 1:16 am

Anyone else getting Fur Hire vibes from these? Focus on different types (with 3 different types as a particular focus), general swarm, only involves 1 extra deck type..

    22. ScionStorm on April 9, 2025 1:33 am

Instantly rather see an anime about this than Sky Strikers.

    23. Fire King Enthusiast on April 9, 2025 2:18 am

Hmmm…. I wonder if Theorealize could be useful for a Lightsworn Deck with that banish effect… there could be a variety of cards they could access with just a type and Attribute Change.

These are some fascinating cards right here. I’m liking the theme they have going on with this deck, modern day arts in a Greek setting.

    25. Longyuan22 on April 9, 2025 2:54 am

Is the translation for field spell correct? Imean Medius the Innocent is not Extra Deck monster.. isnt it should be Nerva?

      • Longyuan22 on April 9, 2025 2:55 am

Nvm i didnt read the “outside”.

    26. LilKanga on April 9, 2025 3:36 am

Medius not being an artmegia means we could be seeing an albaz, diabel, visas situation. Hopefully not another series of broken lore deck that they don’t hit for nearly a year……

      • Xeno on April 11, 2025 12:00 am

If they do get hit in the future, i hope its not as bad as smth like branded fusion to 1. i dont really know what the most important card there is, but they might limit field spell ngl

    27. FaiYus on April 9, 2025 5:41 am

Theorealize is a 1.5 card Fiendsmith combo.

Thereolize – Medius GY eff, shuffle 1 monster from hand, special Imprisoned Deity – Fusion summon Medius Fusion- Banish Theorealize make it Light Fiend.

I don’t think it’s good but it just funny to me. Another jank add to the list.

    28. My opinion on April 9, 2025 6:05 am

      so op

    29. Tris on April 9, 2025 6:11 am

      Is that mf toaru reference!?!?

    30. Namesky on April 9, 2025 6:24 am

Playstyle-wise this is just S-Force done right. You vomit your monsters all over the field and say “nope” to every move of your opponent. And obviously this is just first of the archetypes from this story and as usual the true strength will be hidden in further support and combinations with other stuff.

    31. ... on April 9, 2025 8:05 am

Vomit is its own reward as you’re putting massive damage on the board. Getting rewarded for risk-free reckless aggression that fuels other rewards is peculiar.

    32. leofwin on April 9, 2025 8:12 am

My ears perk up every time a Level 4 fairy monster is revealed because of Condemned Witch. I love that she can search droplet on normal summon, and if the deck that new fairy monster is in doesn’t rely too much on its normal summon, she’ll be an automatic addition in there for me. Only if it makes sense to special summon that level 4 fairy during the opponent’s turn, of course – but it looks like it definitely does make sense in this deck!

So thematically I’m getting Invoked but it’s a blend of the arts instead of multiversal monsters? I like that a lot! The focus on multiple types makes me think of OuTerverSe too, but that’s probably just recency bias.

      • Pablod on April 9, 2025 12:55 pm

However, OuTerverSe wasn’t the first Rush Deck to focus on multiple Monster Types: that was Praime.

However, Praime is only a LIGHT Pile Deck. OuTerverSe differentiates itself by following the OCG/TCG Archetype ideology: in this case, they only work with “OuTerverSe” cards in the GY (being a pseudo-Archetype for Rush)

Fusion enabling monster is an illusion with an effect when it’s used as material?

Seems interesting might put in shadows light to bring out a free herald of the ark light. maybe even combo into ryzeal and mitsurugi.

The Owl is dope (appreciating the artwork), but if this Series is the new Story Lore and the new power creep, so help me egyptian gods…

      • NeoArkadia on April 9, 2025 6:01 pm

        It’s the new story lore.

    41. Zanki on April 9, 2025 2:41 pm

Hold on, Is this going to be the lore continuation of Albaz? I mean look at it, the MC is one card that is needed for all the fusion summon, the (holy place) academy is invaded by something that brought on by the MC, and the girl is getting lockup (kidnapped) by something, the Duolingo (the head of the school ) is evil, and so on. This is like one to one copy of Albaz. Come on Konami, we do not want to see the same lore all over again.

      • Zerox on April 9, 2025 6:50 pm

There is barely any similarities between these 2 stories.
The owl isn’t the head of the School, it’s some kind of imprisoned deity that got freed by the girl and her classmates; and she was about to get it’s blessing or something before that giant hand in the artwork attacked them.
So far there is nothing proving the protagonist has anything to do with the assault, infact it seems he came in at the last moment because he saw the future where they got attacked (Which resulted in him getting the blessing of the Owl instead), and we also we don’t know what happened to everyone here yet.

Also the story of Albaz even from its first 2 waves was about a guy with no memories that fell from the sky in the form of a dragon into a cultist nation that fights Beastmen freedom fighters, the differences in the story are as far as it gets so far.

Another fusion archetype? Who could have guessed?

    43. TheOne on April 9, 2025 8:14 pm

The To Aru “reference” in this post feels very forced, yeah yeah magic is exist in the series but there are several animes set in fantasy magical schools and you chose as comparison the one who is set in a sci-fi psychics school instead? For the archetype doesn’t even have a single psychic-type???

    44. Victor on April 10, 2025 12:02 am

Typical fantasy isekai archetype. Playstyle is pretty cool though, fusion gameplay loop has been really enjoyable for quite a few years now (except when it includes placing monsters from your GY onto the opponent’s field).

    45. Yod on April 10, 2025 3:32 am

Why do I feel like there will be a card that can search for any card mentioning, or being Medius, becomming as good of a name to have in your text as albaz, neos or dark magician?

    46. yukicrewger2 on April 10, 2025 8:00 pm

While even the site devs have noticed a To Aru Majutsu no Index connection (going by the thumbnail art), I feel a strong HoYoverse influence as far as the art style goes. That vibrant and colorful fantasy feel, ya know? (Might just be my opinion)

    47. SpyralYGO on April 13, 2025 9:02 pm

I don’t play fusion but boss monster art is cool mite play them we all know the wallet will have to come out for this one
