Not what I was expecting to be the new Charmer support released in the pack to coincide with the new deck, but pleasantly surprised. Always happy to see these old “grab-bag” type archetypes get a more streamlined gameplan. Was a bit confused about the renaming gimmick since so far the only other name changing cards have been Heraldic Beast adjacent, but I realized it’s to make Luna a more consistent bounce and that’s pretty neat.
Well that and the new fusion lets u fuse with prince’s so kinda 2 fold. My only sadness from the whole package as a fairy tail stan is that the mill from deck doesn’t read super amazing without snow.

More likely this means it’s the end of the road for Instant Fusion. Weaver is Norden levels of busted as an Instant Fusion target.

Agreed, so many monsters and spells that are still up for grabs. Maybe in that limit collection coming out in march for the rivals. B/c he was technically Yugi’s opponent in the grand championship
Plus most of Zigfried cards like Nibelung’s Treasure hasn’t been printed yet.
My mood was already ruined when Water of Life wasn’t “except the effects of that Special Summoned monster on the field OR monsters that mention Golden Castle of Stromberg.” Of course the other Leon spells in that set also failed to mention it.

It’s too bad it’s not Gabrielle-Suzanne DeVillenueve. I feel like she doesn’t get enough recognition as the original author of Beauty and the Beast.
Anderson’s stories are always range from depressing to melancholy
She may have created Beauty and the Beast, but Anderson is known for many more of his stories. Also I think Weaver may be a woman based on how they are drawn, and what seems to be a lack of boys or men in the card arts for the spells.

Side note, but: The Little Match Girl is a SURPRISINGLY dark addition to the rest of the Fairy Tale line up. I mean, I know all the ‘original’ fairy tales are screwed up and dark, but the Fairy Tale archetype seemed to have been going for the more sanitized, Disney-fied aesthetic. I’d sooner have expected Rapunzel to have been added to the line up then “Little Girl freezes to death because she doesn’t want to go home to her abusive father”.
Oh it’s not just, “She doesn’t want to go home to her horrible dad that exploits her for money” but also that despite many people seeing her and that she was a poor girl on the streets no one reached out to help and then they had the audacity to go “oh that poor girl” when she died after not doing anything.
I suppose one additional part of that tragedy was the fact that her grandma, the only person that ever cared about little match girl, was already gone and at the end of the story is the one taking her spirit to afterlife.
Still, I would not call it “omfg so dark so edgy” zoomer horror slop. It’s just… sad, somber and tragic. I think we need more real appreciation for this kind of stories.

all I’m sayin is that kaiju luna was a whole ass deck for like a year, would be very on theme to get prince’s that are kaiju’s. leaves a ton of room for support

Because in Japan, Fairy Tail Tales is not a Fairy Tail card due to a very minor technicality in spelling.
In Japanese, Fairy Tail Tales uses different naming than the rest of the Fairy Tail archetype.

Spellcaster slop is really coming together…now if we could just get Konami to retrain the charmers/familiar-possessed main deck into cards that actually do something for the strategy we’d be in business.

So, where Luna/Kaguya fits into it lore-wise? Obviously she’s not creation of Mr.totally-not-andersen and it’s even referenced in her artwork with scroll being attached to her tail instead of a story book.
We may get later another fusion or something representing the Japenese legends to connect her there.

Putting boring human characters into the deck theme is lame to me, even regardless if it works with the lore. Anyways like always, the new Fairytail furry monsters are very cute! I look forever to mixing them into a silly Shaddoll build later.

I didn’t expect Fairy Tails to become an archetype, this is neat and it’s a cool touch to add two human “meta” characters to their lore (their author and librarian/ archivist)!
I wasn’t expecting Last Day of Witch/Witch Hunt to destroy all furries on the field but you work with what you have.
See, I’m only ever going to run the Fairy Tail cards alongside Spirit Charmers due to the Level 4 Charmer (Familiar-Possessed) monsters also having exactly 1850 Attack.
I wonder how good these will be in an equip focused Fairy Tail deck, I guess Matchlille is an extra summon for getting Rella and Power Tool Dragon on the field at once.
