Thank you for clarifying that lore is lore
Thanks.
God I hate Rush so much.
Same, it tore yu-gi-oh! Into 2.
Boo hoo cry baby
God I love Rush so much.
rush exist because you idiots dont know how to bring in new players in the main game deal with it
rush gave red-eyes the attention it deserves, so I’m not complaining about their cards, they are simply more fair than master rules
Without Rush, every core booster set would be filled with anime cards and archetypes, most of which will start out as mediocre to terrible especially early on as they are designed around anime duel writing (eg most of the Performapals).
Now core boosters are taking the actual meta into account and introducing archetypes that shake up the game. We also have more legacy support for existing themes and legacy characters that were neglected for years.
Rush was a necessary evil. Plus the format is unique enough that it can stand on its own now. Rush has more drawing, topdeck milling, and GY interactions and recovery than Master Duel, and the absence of hand traps, negates, and counter cards means battle and on summon Traps are much more useful. No archetypes also means more synergy between themes (eg Chairs and Gakuto’s 0 ATK monsters).
As I suspected, the Angels start out as apprentices and through learning about their form of love they grow into their older forms, with their love specialty being in their name (Pure [romantic love + the shape of an egg 0], Peace [nationalism], and Cutie [as in animals])
The Spell and Trap Cards make more sense now, both their artworks and effects. The cards that feature multiple Angels has one of the Angels teaches another about their form of love, and in Protection’s case how it applies to them (the love for country can also extend to the love of animals in that country). The ones that don’t such as Return and Safety still have egg shaped motifs in their art.
This also explains Love Memory and why Goddess has all 3 types of love in her artwork.
