All worlds collapse into the end of eternity.
Note: Ashened in Japan is “灰滅” (Kaimetsu) which is a play on 壊滅 or 潰滅 i.e. Destruction or Annihilation, but the first Kanji is replaced with “Ash” so something like “Ashilation”

that’s why we shouldn’t use ai in yugioh card design
i’ll bite. what’s the context behind the comment?
this isn’t a deck build pack post tho
This isn’t an artwork slop post though
Thank goodness it’s not called that in TCG. Sounds like someone’s custom card series, and Ashened fits much more thematically with the lore and origin of the archetype. Just sounds nicer too.
It’s a pun that only works in Japanese and does not translate well to English. Kaimetsu is still a good name for them.
OCG, only you can give them what the TCG could not.
Supreme Darkness should be the next reveal.
Obligatory evil hero with Haō’s armor incoming.
Why does it feel like Jaden, Zane, Edo, Chazz and Crowler are the only GX characters that continuously get new cards? Everyone else is lucky if they get remembered once a decade.
Well, Alexis got new Cyber Angels a while back. But Cyber Girls are otherwise a difficult series to make into a proper archetype, because they had no consistent type, attribute, or even naming scheme.
Vehicroids have no consistent playstyle and I don’t think they have an interest in giving them one, considering Mobile Base was out of left field.
Otherwise, Water Dragons, Crystal Beasts, Sacred Beasts, Volcanic, Arcana Force, got support over time. Fossils and Clear eventually became a thing. The only archetypes left used by major characters are Venom, Mirror, and Koalas. Beyond that it’s one-shot characters with jokey gimmick decks like Tennis and Dolls.
I think Nightshroud is the only final antagonist that never got any kind of support
What are you talking about? The Cyber Girls are all EARTH Warrior monsters. They share consistent Attribute, Type and naming scheme. Even the Cyber Tutu from Arc-V. The original Cyber Angels took a decade to be released.
Mobile Base was a Duelist Pack card, from 2017. 7 years ago. Dragonroid only came out later because of the Cyberdark structure deck (more Zane cards again) because it was used when Syrus added the Cyberdarks to his own deck for one duel.
And the rest (your list comes up short) are as I said, lucky if they’re remembered once a decade.
Actually, Cyber Prima is Light-Attribute. And yes, the non-Cyber Angel ones are Warriors, but then that means they have no synergy with Cyber Angels despite being sister archetypes. The exception is Cyber Tutubon, but point is, that’d be a very awkward series. How would cards specify they work with them, “select 1 EARTH or LIGHT-attribute Warrior or Fairy-type ‘Cyber’ monster”?
As for Mobile Base, yes, you’re right. I didn’t mean to say “they get support”, I meant that while they rarely get support, Konami doesn’t give them a consistent playstyle.
Vehicroids do have an intended playstyle: Fusion Summons, using Expressroid as a way to accumulate fusion materials. roids are one of my favourite decks and althoguh they’re super casual, they do work.
Alexis owns the only “Cyber” Fairy monsters in the game and with the exception of The Fiend Megacyber, she also has the only “Cyber” Warrior monsters. Yes, Prima is the exception with a LIGHT attribute. Are you saying it would be hard for a deck to synergize with just two attributes? Or two types?
Wouldn’t a reverse translation read more as “annihilashen?”
Either which way, but yes, the usual way of handling this is a portmanteau of some sort of the two words.
TCG Archetypes Try NOT TO BE BAD CHALLENGE IMPOSSIBLE
Mimighoul is actually holding its own right now. Turns out being able to use Kashtira Unicorn, Talents, and Thrust on your first turn is pretty good.
Spyral was a thing and wasn’t horrible. Subterror for a time was competitive. TCG exclusives can be good.
TCG is not allowed another broken archetype or mechanic lol But yeah, like the other guy said, Mimighoul is doing well out the box.
@PT
Spyral didn’t make sense/was garbage until Links came to the TCG. Even then, it wasn’t good until they got their own Link.
Dangers would like to present you its several people in the bad people jail for bad crimes.
I wasn’t aware “ashilated” was even a word. Hol’ up. Let me try making a word. “Annihilashed”. Am I enwordenating on the same level?
Ashended.
Here, I’m better than Ygorganization article writers now.
I guess one can also go with Ashend? Which I suppose already sounds close to Ashened.
Go figure out – “Ashened” is not only an actual word but also already count as pun on “Ash” and “End”.
I’m intrigued to see what they add now that they are getting their WPP release. Does the support come in WPP or set after. I can’t remember…
There are no new cards in the WPP, only TCG imports.
On rare occasions we get world premiere cards leaked via the WPP such as the 3 Anniversary Tin cards from last year but those cards would come out to the TCG before the WPP is released anyway.
The actual new cards are released in core boosters following the release date, so Supreme Darkness and the booster after that.
They used to add a new card to each theme in these import packs but lately it’s been that they just release support in the following two core sets. Since Ashened was the second theme introduced, we’ll likely have to wait until the January core set for new support.
ScionStorm Uh? Does the order of introduction of WPPs affect the set in which they will be supported in OCG?
Not to give a bad deck example. But since I follow War Rocks 😉 Initial set was released 2021-02-04 BLVO. 2021-09-25 WPP2 in the OCG. War Rock Medium, their 1 support card, was released 2022-1-15 DIFO in the OCG. 2022-05-19 DIFO in the TCG. WPP4 is slated for 2023-09-28. Maybe that can be a reference point.
The translation has already been done, its nothing like “ashilation.” Stop adding your own bias and/or commentary when translating, you are not Konami of America.
Take easy, don’t be rude.
I’m gonna ashilate my pants.
