Interestingly, they haven’t mentioned which of these Decks will be Fusion, Ritual, or Maximum (where you can only deduce that Sparkhearts will be a Fusion Deck because it already has Fusion Monsters)
Anyway, I love how what appears to be Sparkhearts’ BBackrow is basically lines from Letters/Missions (like saying she’s doing the daily tasks of a fantasy Guild)
And well, from what little we’ve seen of Defiant Soul, it seems like it will be a tragic story worthy of HSR.

Maybe try out the game sometime. The sims are constantly updated with the latest cards and all the players I’ve fought don’t scoop instantly going 2nd or complain about “toxic” decks like most Master rule players.

Ah the captivating Great Moth, should be a flavor improvement as long as it’s in the extra deck. If only you didn’t need a separate card to spread -1/-1 counters, uhh, I mean scale counters.
Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth will be the first main Deck monster that cannot be normal summoned in Rush Duel, i was hoping for a retrained form like they did with Valkyrion
– I can’t help but feel that Charlotte & Jonathan from the Castlevania franchise were an strong source of inspiration for the Defiant Souls couple.
– Also sensing strong Megumin (Konosuba) energy from the SparkHearts (Specially Anesh)
– I’m placing my bet on Great Moth being a ritual archetype:
– Scissor Hercules has the same kind of redesign as the monsters retrained as ritual support for black luster soldier for example (the background and global feel)
– Nephrite Insect Whistle must be a ritual spell (it can’t be an equip, a fusion spell or a trap since it makes little to no sense thematically, it’s clearly something that calls a monster out, obviously not from the deck, and showing the artwork for a simple top-deck excavator or a grave summon card at this point is a bit questionable, specially for such a simple artwork).
– The alternative Great Moth being blue.
I think Defiant Souls will be a RItual theme because of the story being tragic & artwork having some edginess & goth; Ritual fits that style perfectly as its mechanic revolves around sacrificing for greater power & impact, similar to what Mordorne the Skullcrag Knight’s role is in this lore, seemingly, but as an antagonist/evil character.
Sparkhearts already got Fusions, so it’s obvious Konami is looking to give them more Fusions to work with.
And with that leaves Great Moth as a Maximum Deck because most insects bring power & impact in numbers, hence the known phrase “swarm of insects”, for MAXIMUM effect in their offense & defense. The mother being the middle piece unless Konami is looking to make Great Moth like a super gigantic spider-like Maximum Monster.

master rule artists work for rush duel now?
I mean… there are many Decks in Master Duels that scream they were created for Rush Duels just by looking at their Art Style: Mimighoul is a Rush Deck in Appearance.
And well, I doubt that Master Duels will have a Deck like Sparkhearts in terms of Artistic Style (it will only have similarities with other decks focused on magic or fantasy worlds)
It’s interesting that I’ve seen many people surprised by the existence (and Artwork) of Defiant Soul when it’s been around in Rush Duels since 2024.
Anyway, I’ve always said this Deck had the potential to be something really great if it were expanded.
And well, now Konami should create more Free Agents to give us Decks in the future since the most Requested Options have already been used.
The remaining available options are Rice Terrace, Lightning Bringer, Rabbewel Ivory, and Sacred Splendor.
I’d love to see ’em expand on “Crystal Brain” as a free-agent-turned-series. As annoying as it could be, a mill strat deck could have a unique place in Rush given the stronger emphasis on the GY.
