The rot devours that in it’s path. Take up the armor of the fallen and leave sorrow in your wake! DREAD LINK!
It’s fascinating to see that we can get an effect for Insect, Plant, and Reptile Monsters today. Enough time has gone by since “The Big Cattle Drive” to where we can have such an effect without jumping through the hoops needed for the aforementioned Spell.
Being in the end phase is already a pretty big limitation on it vs Big Cattle Drive
Their translation didn’t originally specify the action took place during the End Phase.
Still, I’d take a Super Rejuvenation styled effect over The Big Cattle Drive’s restriction.
Damn. Nothing so far for rikka, but as mentioned beetrooper and odgodaic will enjoy these cards
They won’t. Those 2 cards are terrible. The level 4 is kinda decent and that’s it.
If only that link 3 was a quick effect. Even without it being a quick effect with this new link that gives the archetype up to SEVEN ways to pop stuff on the field.
Being able to draw up to three cards during your end phase is hella nice, and also being able to ss ANY RIP from hand opens up so much. It’s a easy way to summon out Metamorphosed Insect Queen, or any of the Ogdoadic bosses without having to tribute your own stuff is a great extender.
And once again the artwork goes HARD this these, and is showing a little bit of lore that not all the monsters in the archetype are infested with the vines. This new insect and Kusarigama are the most ‘human like’ in terms of having full bodies and not ones twisted together like the others.
They’re both terrible. The level 4 doesn’t actually do anything. Ssing Metamorphosed was never a thing insects even wanted to do, and the draw is nice at best. This card is a brick and that’s it.
The link 3 has no purpose at all
Huh. Free Link 3 every turn, makes going for Link 4’s in those decks easier or Grindy decks.
End Phase huh? Still, Draw 2-3 at end phase is kinda nutty. And it has a generic(P,R,I) discard for free summon effect on hand.
All its materials have to be RIP-types and it’s graveyard summon is a full turn RIP-lick, all for a spell speed 1 backrow pop? That’s terrible.
Konami please do something other than Asian things, stop supporting this archetype and give us something with fresh cultural inspiration.
We did get hungry burger support which was french food, what about a german archtype related to war?
Give it a rest already.
no
yeah, where’s our Haitian cannibal archetype?
@LucaZERO I…don’t think we should do that…
Yeah, now give decent battlewasp support
for people who says that means nothing for rikka: they finally have an in engine out to backrow and floodgates
How is this an out? The floodgates would stop you from summoning this thing anyway.
These cards are rather meh and don’t do anything for the Deck. Konami clearly doesn’t care about this archetype.
I would guess the final count of monsters for this theme will be 18. 6 monsters for each Attribute. 3 for the main deck and 3 for the Links, so 2 Reptile, Insect and Plant monsters for each Attribute.
* will be 18 each for the MD and ED
