    NeoArkadiaBy NeoArkadiaJuly 10, 202477 Comments

    Thrust it through the hole.

Note: Raizeol seems to be a combination of Rai (Japanese for Thunder/Lightning) and Zeol(ite), a type of mineral known to combust.

Also, the monsters in this theme are references to various sorts of engines. We’ll update names and information accordingly.

Note: Anodes and Cathodes are electrodes in batteries or other electro-chemical cells that allow electric charges to flow.

    DBCB-JP003 アイス・ライゼオル Ice Raizeol
Level 4 LIGHT Pyro Effect Monster
    ATK 1700
    DEF 1000

A deck so boring I almost fell asleep reading the articllllllllllzzzzzz

      • Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 12:40 am

I mean at least we have more monsters to search with Bonfire. Right?

    2. White wind Pollarion on July 10, 2024 12:36 am

      Generic r4nk… sad!

    3. aaa1e2r3 on July 10, 2024 12:37 am

This is a surprisingly normal archetype, Nothing super broken or anything, just “Rank 4 Toolbox” the archetype.

      • LucaZERO on July 10, 2024 4:08 am

Honestly i really hope people think its bad, so that these cards will be really cheap. I have a feeling this is really casual and fun

      • Bonk on July 11, 2024 1:14 pm

        You’re right. It’s not super broken. It’s tier 1. 😎

    4. Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 12:37 am

Last time we had a Light Pyro archtype was the Helios cards used by Banner in GX.

      • N on July 10, 2024 12:51 am

Prior to today there were only 4 LIGHT Pyros in the game – the aforementioned Helios cards and Candoll. But due to the monsters pressuring you to play within their archetype it is difficult to splash any of these in even if you wanted to.

      • Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 12:55 am

You know I wouldn’t mind new support for the Helios Marco Cosmos archtype. I remember Marco Monarch being a popular deck back in the day.

      • User on July 10, 2024 4:15 am

No thanks. We don’t need a card that says “Activate Macro Cosmos from Deck and draw 2 cards.”

      • Stardust Dragon on July 10, 2024 6:58 am

Then why you still here? ⬆️

    5. Samurex on July 10, 2024 12:37 am

      1. Duodrive looks perfect for Star Seraph
      2. We now have Offensive Rafflesia. Like Bridge Pewdiepie and Burger Plane.

    6. Bruno Santo on July 10, 2024 12:41 am

Surprisingly, this Mecha Deck doesn’t bring anything new to the table: it’s already something we’ve seen, Rank 4 Toolbox.

I think the only new thing about the Deck is the Type/Attribute combinations.

      • Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 12:46 am

The Helios cards were Light Pyro. However the Fire Thunder is new at least for the OCG. Rush Duel has one monster with that typing.

      • Petsinwinter on July 10, 2024 1:39 am

I would like to point out that half the Sprights are FIRE Thunders. Red, Carrot, Elf, and Sprind are all Fires. Good luck combining them with this deck, tho.

      • Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 1:42 am

Oh you right. My bad. I’m just waiting for the day we finally get a ROTA for Thunder monsters.

      • Blastmole299 on July 10, 2024 2:01 am

Please don’t, I don’t wanna deal with Colossus 24/7 if there’s a ROTA or Bonfire for thunders, even worse now since it’s unlimited (OCG player)

      • Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 2:06 am

Maybe but it would be good for BatteryMan and Watts.

      • MystikX on July 10, 2024 2:46 am

@Justin Jones – GX has you covered.

        https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Lightning_Crash

      • Stardust Dragon on July 10, 2024 6:59 am

Colossus still banned at MD? Or they are free?

    7. N on July 10, 2024 12:48 am

I was wrong about this Deck needing specific Type/Attribute materials, but I was partially correct on them being FIRE Thunder or Pyro
It does what it’s supposed to and unlike Spright appears to be balanced from the start. You can even run some of the Thunder Spark cards in here.

    8. ... on July 10, 2024 12:57 am

Saw the stealth helios support and left it at that, after that peak there’s no need to suffer the rest of the generic deck build pack walls of text.

      • HFIL on July 10, 2024 2:14 pm

I wouldn’t exactly call “able to search Helios”, “peak”. That’s lower than a valley.

    9. harry van eden on July 10, 2024 1:19 am

As a fist wave of support this is playable out the box since you can use out of archtype payoff.
Wave 2 and 3 can give us a quick play rank up spell and a new boss monster

    10. They Are Not Machines on July 10, 2024 1:19 am

Pretty competent right away, still needs some oomf from the second wave but it starts in a much better position than something like Rescue-ACE did initially.

R4nk toolbox also still has bangers, Rafflesia for nib protection, Abyss Dweller for Floodgate, Bagooska to stall, Cowboy for time etc.

    11. LoveTrain on July 10, 2024 1:21 am

It’s likely we are witnessing the steadily approaching limitation of card design. There’s only so many piles of cards you can move a card to and from

      • Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 1:24 am

And monster designs. How many Mecha monsters do we need? At this point every Deck Built Pack is going to be Mech, Dragons and Waifus.

    12. Pot the Trick on July 10, 2024 1:28 am

Duodrive is a pretty cool boss. Not much to say aside from that; it’s just a Rank 4 engine, albeit with interesting Type/Attribute combinations. Disappointed that Palma Raizeol doesn’t have 1600 ATK to work with Thunder Hand.

    13. AlmightyPerson on July 10, 2024 1:28 am

One card gets you 6 pops all in archtype. Pretty neat. I like the look of them honestly.

    14. skell on July 10, 2024 1:36 am

ive been labbing this deck for a little bit, and im honestly surprised that every single card is not only playable, but actually good

    15. ciccio on July 10, 2024 1:40 am

How do you want it? (Konami designer)

Rescue ace aesthetic plis (konami executive)

    16. Justin Jones on July 10, 2024 1:49 am

Fun Fact there’s only 3 Water 💧 Thunder⚡️ monsters: Lightning Conger, Tribe Shocking Virus, and Bolt Penguin.

    17. kost1te321 on July 10, 2024 1:54 am

so this is like spright but with much restriction and less power. its okay i guess knowing how easy it is to summon rank 4.

    18. Stardust Dragon on July 10, 2024 1:55 am

Sounds like a neutral Utopia support or something? Can be run with generic rank 4’s too. Just becareful, it can brick sometimes, as any decks do lol. Even if they lack higher lvl monsters, they still can brick.

As Utopia players are normally use mostly rank 4 Xyz’s anyway. Onomats, which is Yuma’s other deck will not benefit from these cards as much, as they are mainly targetting rank 4, 5, 6, and 8 [Xyzs] Not just rank 4’s.

And Utopia, unlike Onomats, have better turn 2, and decent-ish turn 1, compared to Onomats, who are better going first, and weak turn 2. And Utopia is a bit more fun to play out of the two as well.

    19. Gaku on July 10, 2024 1:58 am

may this be the most uninspired and boring archetype ever?

    20. Stardust Dragon on July 10, 2024 2:00 am

Maybe, but there is only one way to find out. Playing it yourself.

    21. LucaZERO on July 10, 2024 2:25 am

I was expecting there to be a lot of pyro light but its pretty much just helios and spright for thunder fire

    22. Voice on July 10, 2024 2:26 am

Such a nothing burger of an arctype, if only they lock into XYZ not just XYZ rank 4 this deck have something to cook with.

      • HFIL on July 10, 2024 1:41 pm

Rank 4 is not exactly a barren wasteland of a cardpool. Plus, given how easy they are to summon, the lock is warranted.

      • Stardust Dragon on July 14, 2024 4:19 am

Most rank 4 xyz are run well with decks that can carry it. Like number cards from Zexal time? Pretty good with Thunder Family as engine imo

      • 8chan on July 18, 2024 10:31 pm

@op: this is what smoking do to your fetus

    23. Kalethegod on July 10, 2024 3:18 am

Is that actually a “Hole” Normal Trap Card?

      • Comun on July 10, 2024 8:38 am

It is. They say right there that the card is clearly meant to be named Hall Thruster. The reason why they’re calling it Hole Thruster instead is because Hole is an established archetype this card accidentally or otherwise belongs to.

    24. ScionStorm on July 10, 2024 3:24 am

Predicting Thunder Spark as the next manga deck to get Core set support. Not what I want the most but what I think is most likely.

    25. MidnightDB on July 10, 2024 3:29 am

      Hole Thruster XD

    26. Naransolongo_BB on July 10, 2024 3:32 am

Well… it reminds me of Hybridrive I guess? Though that’s a new archetype focused around two boss monsters from older archetypes and this is a generic toolbox that is juuuust restrictive enough to not actually be generic. Might be run with Utopia but I don’t play that deck so I wouldn’t know

    27. Delulu ygorg members on July 10, 2024 4:45 am

How are people thinking this deck is not crazy? Every one of the cards is a plus one more or less and they all somehow summon themself. There are a bunch of good r4nk monsters in the game. This will definitely be a tier 2 deck at least. Especially with another wave of support.

      • White wind Pollarion on July 10, 2024 5:09 am

It’s not that it’s not good, it’s that it is bland and does nothing new or original (except the type/attribute combinations)… It’s just a boring r4nk toolbox deck, ad if we haven’t enough of rank 4’s… Rank 4 is the most common xyz rank so, bleh.

      • Stardust Dragon on July 10, 2024 7:01 am

And 90% of all rank 4’s are pretty bad lol

    28. Stardust Dragon on July 10, 2024 4:47 am

Yeah. Utopia is pretty generic, but good decks to play with [these cards]. but to be fair, that is one of the decks that can play these cards as engine of the deck. Aside Onomats, I don’t know what else, maybe Dinomist or any pendulums focused on rank 4 Xyzs or something.

I usually use Dinos for synchro, but they have lvl 5’s, so unlikely to be in Dinomist, but who knows?

    29. Legend on July 10, 2024 5:07 am

Yup idk either, and any r4 deck can now run colossus if combined with TD

    30. Stardust Dragon on July 10, 2024 5:11 am

      Or even Lightsworn engine decks?

    31. Spriggan on July 10, 2024 5:34 am

      I like this
      Finally something with heavy restrictions
I hope a lot more archetypes will get this kind of restrictions in the future

    32. Mathematical on July 10, 2024 6:07 am

Ngl the main deck cards are good and help facilitate but you can tell konami intentionally set this deck up for failure by lvl 4 xyz locking you which tbf is huge with really good cards. Not only that the cards only swarm and dont do anything unique along with being very vulnerable to hand trap’s and going second something almost evey xyz swarm deck is highly vulnerable to. The boss monsters are both very lacking and boring the first one is ash or imperm fodder and the others quick effect is a measly non once card pop which wouldnt be bad on paper if your opponent didn’t have to activate a monster to do it and we werent in a format where destroying the opponent’s cards didn’t benefit them and the destruction protection is easily negated and btw were in a format where people can put your cards in the backrow, super polyd away and sent to graveyard. The trap is unnecessary the only good target i can think of making this is bagooska the card pops isn’t something the deck needs it needs real protection from the most common forms of removal. Realistically I can see what Konami was going for they wanted a generic rank 4 xyz that’s actually good at swarming the board very fast that relies on the fact it can only go into the biggest most utilized xyz toolboxes but it doesn’t give then the right to under-tune decks in terms of playability, playstyle and design especially with xyz decks like goblin riders which have been getting the short end of the stick (I already know they got pretty good support recently btw )

    33. Snow on July 10, 2024 6:12 am

Pretty cool, nothing crazy from the looks of it, but solid enough. Surprised the main deck monsters don’t impart effects to the XYZ monsters when attached as material.

    34. flackenstien on July 10, 2024 6:41 am

Rank 4 spam is so boring. They’re gonna be Spright but Rank 4, how sad.
Wish they were Rank 10+ and had unique mechanics other than “Special Summon me” and “gud effect”.

      • Regiruler on July 10, 2024 8:07 am

I’ve been wanting the first rank 11 deck for quite a while now. Had these gone for that and been tuned up appropriately, I would have been fine with it.

    35. Remnant on July 10, 2024 7:13 am

      Cool type/attribute combination.

    36. MegaPootis on July 10, 2024 7:35 am

People with the overeact hate because is an at most rogue deck that sticks with its own theme instead of being the 827th exploited engine for the 729th generic omninegate.

      • Regiruler on July 10, 2024 8:06 am

The fact that it’s self contained is perfectly fine. The problem is that it doesn’t explore any new design space whatsoever. The entire identity is rank 4 xyz, which numerous archetypes in the past have made their bread and butter. Had they simply chosen a rank that was not 2, 3, or 4 (probably 8 as well), then these would have been far more exploratory and well received.

    37. DirtCHEAP on July 10, 2024 7:46 am

This is like a deck you give to your little brother or nephew. It does stuff and whole lot of nothing. Very solitaire, side story, deck. You’re definitely not the Main Character playing this deck. I will keep an eye out. Too bad there are no Lv3s in this core for XYZ Armor plays.

    38. Pep on July 10, 2024 7:49 am

No way they called the card “Hole Thruster”

    39. TransactionRollbackInGY on July 10, 2024 8:41 am

This pretty much can only play OTK Utopia since the restrictions can’t summon the other higher Ranked Utopia Xyz.

This one had an edge against Tistina, which has Rank 4 Toolbox, but Tistina doesn’t lock.

Miles better in swarming than Tistina and doing anything else aside from it’s gimmick.

    40. Logic Bomb on July 10, 2024 9:37 am

Y’know, years ago I came up with a rank4 archetype concept that was made up of Light Pyros and Fire Thunders, so I’m looking forward to this.

    41. Turt on July 10, 2024 10:05 am

They lied they said thy were machines I’m enraged and they seem like really bad mathmech

      • HFIL on July 10, 2024 12:28 pm

Well ignoring that the artworks shows machines. The description of these didn’t say they were machines, in fact, it literally says “Xyz Monsters that unleash energy made of shining light, burning flames and and booming thunder!”. Not sure how you thought they were going to be machines.

      • RedDragonArchfiend on July 17, 2024 7:18 am

Mathmechs are machinelike, but they are cyberse…

    42. HFIL on July 10, 2024 12:38 pm

So the last card is either a quickplay or a normal trap.

    43. dilak on July 10, 2024 1:00 pm

could be interesting if combined with toys

    44. Fedut on July 10, 2024 1:47 pm

They look very cool! If theyre low rarity (which theyll probably be, since this feels like a filler archetype) Ill probably build a simple rank 4 toolbox focusing on these guys, could always be fun.

      • HFIL on July 10, 2024 2:09 pm

It’s a Deck Build archetype…I wouldn’t hold out hope on it being low rarity

    45. Jiro on July 10, 2024 6:52 pm

For a Deck Build archetype, this is ok. They will get support in other upcoming sets as well.

    46. Anon on July 10, 2024 9:19 pm
