The first Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL World Championship (WCS 2023) will be held in the form of Individual Duels for the Qualifiers and Team Battles for the Finals. Those who are selected as Regional Representatives in the WCS 2023 Qualifiers will be asked to select two Duelists from the same region to team up with in the Finals (subject to successful application).
Event Dates for the WCS 2023 Qualifiers: 1st STAGE: May 16 to May 29th
Regional Qualifiers: May 26th to May 29th
Time when Ranking Rewards will be distributed: After final rankings are announced, June 09th
–How to advance in the WCS 2023 Qualifiers
The event will follow a similar structure to the Duelist Cup: For the 1st stage, you need to increase your DLv. by winning matches. You need to reach a max DLv. of 20, and you get an initial boost based on your Rank in the 16th Ranked Season (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) of the month of April. For the Regional Qualifiers, you will earn DP by winning matches and aim for a high rank.
–About Regional Qualifiers
The top ranked player in reach region at the end of the Regional Qualifiers round will be eligible to participate in the WCS 2023 Finals. The number of finalists that will qualify for the WCS 2023 Finals will vary per region.
–About the WCS 2023 Finals
The WCS 2023 Finals will be held in Japan as an offline event on August 5th and August 6th. “Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL” WCS 2023 Finals will be a Team Battle with Duelists competing in groups of three. Those who are selected as Regional Representatives will be asked to select two Duelists from the same region to team up with them and apply to participate in the Finals.
*Only the DLv. MAX players who participated in the same region as the Regional Representative in the Regional Qualifiers of the WCS2023 Qualifiers may be selected to join hte team.
*Regional Representatives cannot team up with each other.
*Please note that those who have been selected to participate int he WCS 2023 Finals will be contacted separately, so please be sure not to miss any application forms to participate in the tournament.
*The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2023 will be held across three different categories: Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS, and Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL. Duelists can participate in all of the Qualifiers, but please note that you can only participate in one of the categories, even if you have obtained eligibility to participate in the Finals for multiple categories.

“Many “Vernusylph” monsters active effects from the hand, and in conjunction with their individual effect resolutions, they are able to Special Summon EARTH monsters from your Graveyard. utilize these effects and aim to create a line-up of 5 or more EARTH monsters on your field. Then, you can use the effect of “Vernusylph in Full Bloom” to increase the ATK of all monsters on your field, or the effect of “Vera the Vernusylph Goddess” to negate monster effects activated by your opponent at the time of their resolution.
The March of the Vanguards of Destruction
“Many “Infernoid” monsters require other “Infernoid” monsters to be banished while the sum of Levels/Ranks of all Effect ‘monsters on your field is less than 8 to be Special Summoned. Utilize “Void” Spell and Trap Cards and aim to Special Summon “Infernoid” monsters. When the sum of Levels/Ranks of all Effect Monsters on your field is over 9, utilize your Link Monsters. Since Link Monsters do not have Levels/Ranks, they will be useful in preparing the conditions to Special Summon “Infernoid” monsters.
The Colors of the Four Spirits
“Awakening of the Possessed” monsters can Special Summon from the hand or Deck by sending a monster with the Attribute that corresponds with the Spellcaster-Type monster on your field. If you are successful in Special Summoning in this way, you will be able to activate a special effect. Aim for a Special Summon when the situation calls for it. After that, use them as Link Material to Link Summon “Charmer” Link Monsters. With the other effect of the “Awakening of the Possessed” monster, you will be able to call forth powerful support cards into your hand, such as “Possessed Partnerships” and “Unpossessed”.
