Good, Barrier Statue is a big mistake from Konami for printing this card for Rush Duels.
Cat-Trois Choice, good riddance to you, that means the Dark Solitaire strategy is a lot less consistent.
Grace Spear, that’s a surprise same with Ciela the Skysavior Knight.
Scramble to 3, oh boy maybe Excuties are making a comeback in January.

The first Forbidden card in Rush at long last. I expected 2 cards honestly – Altierra and Barrier Statue, but I am fine with the Ciela hit as this still hits Altierra indirectly while curbing back any Three Rulers/Skysavior hybrids that like to use Ciela to weaken enemy boards and Solcier for backrow removal. Barrier Statue was way too broken and easily abused in so many Decks. I’m glad it’s gone.
Catrois Limit was expected as the card had a design oversight from the start that lets it be used in several types of backrow heavy decks. It’s the type of card that needs to stay on the Limited list unless it gets an errata. Even at 2 it’s broken.
Order and Scramble are back at 3 as neither Deck is a big deal anymore.
I expected Legend Strike at 1 and Magician at 2. I also expected Sushi Roll at 2 as it is only broken due to Potter. Maybe next time.
Grace Spear nerfs Dark Solitaire. It’s a strange limit. I don’t expect it to be on the list for long; it isn’t that good even in Dark Solitaire.
I used to like Rush Duel but I feel they don’t know what to do with it. I think Lurker is the other problem card. It does feel bad to lose againsts Grace Spear, especially on a direct attack Gaia.

I feel Konami is trying to make Rush more combo heavy/faster like Master Duel to get more MD players into the format. Lurker and Statue were still good, but not overwhelmingly so at the time of release. These older cards were not designed for the new staples and tech we got over the past year.
The game is more complex now and Konami is not expected to know every possible interaction a card has with the nearly 2000 other cards in the format. It’s good to see Konami is erring on the side of caution more than not – hitting the most alarming cards but not being too aggressive by just banning anything remotely viable.
