Q: In the Opening for the First Season, Misawa was seen with “Water Dragon” and a dragon of fire that did not make an appearance in the actual show. Was a name or effect ever decided upon? At one point in time the official site listed a card called “Armageddon” for Misawa, was this the name for this card?
A: “Armageddon” is an interesting name. I don’t know anything about that. Maybe they asked me about something and I answered that? Hmm ^^;
It does fit Misawa’s Chemistry Dragon Series like “Oxygeddon”. But since it’s lining up next to “Water Dragon”, it’s probably just something simple like “Fire Dragon”.

Looking back through my materials, the original plan for his Duels was for the first deck to be “Water Dragon”, then a new card called “Cellgeddon” (a battery-dinosaur) was to be added to the “Water Dragon” Deck. During the adjustment of the Duels to work with the plot, it appears that this turned into the “Magnet Warrior” Deck that became Misawa’s EARTH Deck of his 6 elemental Decks.

Water Dragon isn’t an Aqua type. It’s Sea Serpent. So no reason for Fire Dragon to be a Pyro type. Sea Serpent is the most underserved type in the game so making all of the chemisaur bonded dragons Sea Serpent no matter their attribute would be unique to the theme. And might actually inspire Konami to make some Sea Serpent support.
I’d say that based on how the card is being discussed here, Fire Dragon will probably be relegated to being a complement to Water Dragon, but considering that lately we’ve had several new branches of old archetypes, anything is possible rn

The Oxygeddon would of been part of the Fire Dragon as it’s colour is that of burning Oxygen and likely 2 monsters related Charcoal or something mineral in name

Hmm…Cellgeddon eh? Considering that the bracket kanji description refers more specifically to dry cell batteries, of which alkaline batteries are a type, I wonder if they ever bring Cellgeddon to the physical card game, could they make it a bridge from Water Dragon into Litmus Doom Swordsman?
I suspect that original idea was for all of his 6 decks to focus on their own “Elementary Dragon”, with Cellgeddon being Thunder/LIGHT? But there already existed “Thunder Dragon” so maybe it was supposed to be a support for it? Obviously later TD got proper support, but it was not a thing during GX era.
That would also make Bastion second (third if we don’t ignore Zane’s Cyber Dragon blatantly resembling BEWD in how they work) rival that inherited some part of Kaiba’s strategy – Chazz is using X-Y-Z machines.
I suppose also worth noting in that case that boss monster used by Professor Eisenstein (Zweistein in JP) was “Brain Dragon”(All-Ruling Dragon – Brain Dragon in JP), which may or may not be related.
There’s also Super Electromagnetic Voltech Dragon, the OG boss for Batterymen. Probably better option for theoretical LIGHT/Thunder deck for Misawa?
So… Cellgeddon would have an effect to send 1 Batteryman from deck (or hand?) to GY to get it’s name, probably in TCG with additional effect giving second normal summon for thunder-types to allow for quick summon of Voltech Dragon.

Plasma Warrior Eitom is a LIGHT Thunder monster. Figured that would have been the focus of his LIGHT deck.
We really need something that connect the whole water dragon deck together
Right now its just a bunch of incredibly useless cards, and 1 insane searcher which is better in any other deck that can play it
We need something that gives you options, and either retrains or different versions of the basic dinosaurs

But sadly and stupidly enough, fukin’ konami decided to give supp for Magnets in the last core booster instead of the Water Dragon decK. Even tho’ that new little Water Dragon came out first in that promo pack before that vjump Magnet card.
I still think it was a HUGE waste of space & carton & opportunity. This means we might not be getting anything new for that deck.
PS: before any one jumps at me. I got nothing against MW, just i thought that Water Dragon deserves the supp the most. Give supp to it first, then they can do whatever they want with MW.
i can even think of an eff for the Fire Dragon to supp the Water Dragon play, an eff that simulates what can happen in reality. Something that goes like:
1st Effect: Tribute this card, make every monster on the opp field FIRE Pyro (maybe a quick eff). Then for some sort of cost or setup, like “having a bonding spell in GY”, 2nd eff: If this is sent to GY, u can spe sum the materials/ or add a BOnding spell to make the Water Dragon (in same turn).
How this simulates reality ? by “tributing the Fire dragon”, can be seen as if -the flames got out of control and burned everything around-. & how to take down fire ? is by water. Thus the eff that sets up the summon of Water Dragon.
They aren’t useless cards. I use a water dragon deck and it can get it out fast.
