It is clarified that Grandmaster Rares are 100 copies per card, with cards having a Serial Number between 001 and 100, making these some of the rarest cards in the entire game.

Also, it was previously stated this new rarity would be a Prismatic Secret Rare with a Serial Number. That is no longer the case. The following changes have been announced for the Limit Over Collections:

This is the “good” way to make expensive things in the game.
Lower rarities of the card to people play (at an accessible price),
rare/cosmetic versions of the cards to carry the value.
Pokémon does this since forever and works well.
Same thing that happened to Pokémon. It went from a game that everyone can enjoy to just scalpers buying up everything and selling them for outrageous prices.

Pokémon is the WORST example you can make considering how scalpers are a absolute blight to the tcg
the replies are acting like pokemon is bad for players? it’s sick for players. annoying for collectors, but most of the ygo audience is players atp.
we also don’t have nearly the brand recognition of pokemon. even if this works, we will never hit pokemon levels off of this.
Pokemon TCG Pocket is basically there version of Duel Links.
The closest I’ve ever come to a Grandmaster Rare, was back in the first Pokemon set. The Pikachu in that set all had yellow cheeks in their art, and at the time only… I think it was 4 “pages/sheets” (which comes to only 484 copies in the US) of that particular Pikachu having red cheeks was actually printed. and I had one.
No idea where it is now.

Didn’t people not like the Short Print cards of packs decades past? I don’t think people are interested in what sounds like Short Print 1.75. This not long after QCSR likely doesn’t help.

as someone who hates the full art, im happy they will include the normal ygo cards, because with this, the prices should be low or affordable on paper. I know some cards will be expensive, but i see this as an absolute win
only issue facing these cards. it will be disturbing seeing the cards… rip takahashi, guy for sure would be against this
