It is once more happening, with the USA also this time! (With more details on specifically the UK event)
On the 27th and 28th of February, join us for a weekend full of excitement as we host Remote Duel Extravaganza and Remote Duel Extravaganza Celebration events once again!
This is a chance for Duelists to compete in Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), Yu-Gi-Oh! Speed Duel or Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links tournaments for fun and prizes via Remote Duels.
This weekend, three continents are hosting Remote Duel Extravaganza events:
Grandmaster Games (Event Discord) is hosting the North American Remote Duel Extravaganza, a weekend of Remote Duels that is open to anyone willing to participate. This event offers several different prizes, along with an invite to the next stages of competitive play.
Several Latin American stores are hosting events specifically for their country, which you can find here! Along with the main event, they’re also hosting side-events like Win-A-Mat single-elimination tournaments, making this the perfect chance for duelists to hone their skills and maybe bring home some rewards.
European Stores are also hosting the usual Extravaganza side-event fare for all players this weekend, but with some added panache: on Sunday, Europe will also hold Remote Duel Invitational Qualifier main events, just for players who have qualified! These main events are open only to those who have earned a spot in previous events and will provide a chance to advance to Remote Duel Invitationals. These main events will be streamed on Sunday here.
The main event will be streamed on Sunday, which you’ll find here.
If you wish to take part in any of these events available, you must sign up on their discord. For the European Invitationals, there are several main servers hosting, which you can find listed here or on the Konami Site.
The main Regions for European Remote Duels are:
- UK & Ireland (Discord)
- Western Europe (Discord)

Please make to check out the Best Practices Guide. It has a whole bunch of helpful tips on making these events run as smoothly as possible for everyone. I’d especially like to emphasize the following advice:
If you do a slanted camera shot, it’s a lot easier to keep your hand in the frame without revealing the cards to your opponent. It’s a more natural style of play, and it’s less likely to get you sanctioned for your hand disappearing out of view.
I’d like to also clarify some confusion that I’ve seen on Social Media: Remote Duel Extraganzas have a list of restricted cards, this is in addition to the standard TCG Forbidden & Limited List. However, different stores might have different sets of restricted cards that you can’t use/use the effect of, so please make sure to check with your own store that is hosting your event.
Below is the list of cards that you can’t use in the United Kingdom Extravaganza, that you can find in their Discord.
- Amazoness Chain Master
- Exchange
- Gift Exchange
- Lullaby of Obedience
- Parasite Paracide
- Transmission Gear
- Yu-Jo Friendship
Along with the above restrictions, the USA Extravaganza also restricts these additional cards
- Ancient Telescope
- Blizzard Warrior
- Contact with the Aquamirror
- Dark Scorpion – Chick the Yellow
- Destiny HERO – Dominance
- Diabolos, King of the Abyss
- Flower Cardian Peony with Butterfly
- Goddess Skuld’s Oracle
- Gold Moon Coin
- Graverobber
- Jack-In-The-Hand
- Magical Contract Door
- Old Mind
- Scrounging Goblin
- Senri Eye
- Spell Vanishing
- SPYRAL Gear – Drone
Jack-in-the-Hand has been confirmed to be allowed for the British event, and the Head Judge has issued an explanation on how the effect is to be resolved that can be found on their Discord. In general, different events will have specific rulings for that event. I highly stress that you should look through the information they provide to be as informed as possible.
I’ll be taking part in judging the British Event, while several of our other members will be also judging these events. I hope to see people enjoying themselves and participating in this game that we all love and enjoy.
