(2) You can banish this card from your GY; add 1 “Ice Doll” from your Deck or GY to your hand.

You can only use the 1st and 2nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
(1) Special Summon 2 “Ice Pillar Tokens” (Aqua/WATER/Level 4/ATK 1900/DEF 1200) in Defense Position, also you cannot Special Summon from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn after this card resolves.
(2) You can banish this card from your GY; immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 WATER monster.

Ice Doll and Ice Doll Mirror could definitely see play in Mermail Atlantean.
It’s kind of crazy that Ice Doll can add itself to send with Ice Doll Mirror latter or Eria the Water Channeler for a search plus another trigger for your MA monsters.
Ice doll is another searcher for revealer of the ice barrier, and can also add shamen, this is pretty neat
The last card from Asuka’s deck I ever expected to see released. Still waiting on that field spell and more Ice Counter support since Asuka pioneered Ice Counters.

Twin pillars of Ice is a stupid card. It’s basically a worst Scapegoat. It gives you two tokens and locks you out of the extra deck. It’s just a terrible card because you can’t even combo off the GY effect until your next turn.
The tokens are intended to be tributes for high level monsters such as Ice Queen or Blizzard Princess
All these cards are designed with that in mind, not for combos
wdym you cant combo off its grave effect? you can use both effects on the same turn. it’s still a bad card though

It’s primary use is for tribute summoning big WATER monsters, just how it was used in the manga.
You can also set it and activate in End Phase of your opponent’s turn just as Scapegoat was used. It will also let you switch them to attack position to use that respectable 1900 ATK.
It’s not competitive card (funfact – most cards are not competifive) but it works as intended.
I don’t get how this version of Twin Pillars prevents Splendid VENUS from attacking Frost Tiger.

On the one hand, abandoning the counter mechanic is a step forward, on the other hand, it would be nice if they made a new high-level boss monster with a different victory condition (ideally one that fits the pace of the current game)
