Time to set sail once again on the high seas.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another CDP, and this one is inspired by the new generic Fiend support that made its debut in Infinite Forbidden. The Plunder Patroll [PP] archetype consists of WATER Fiends supported by Extra Deck Ships of various attributes, and their unique characteristic is that they have multiple cards that can cheat out a PP Extra Deck monster with the same Attribute as a monster on your opponent’s field or GY. For example, Whitebeard, the Plunder Patroll Helm and Redbeard, the Plunder Patroll Matey each have that effect during the opponent’s turn. Once they cheat out that Plunder Patroll monster, they equip themselves to that summoned monster, ‘staffing’ that ship if you follow the metaphors behind the theme. As a ship example, take Plunder Patrollship Brann, the FIRE one, which can discard any PP card to banish an opponent’s S/T and tutor a PP monster. While equipped with a Plunder Patroll card, this effect becomes a Quick Effect. To achieve its strategy, this theme has a ton of innate consistency, such as Plunder Patroll Shipyarrrd, the theme’s Field Spell, that can tutor any Plunder Patroll card.
Now that you’ve gotten a brief introduction to the theme, let’s talk about the new INFO cards that give the theme a bit more oomph. First up is Dipsea Fiend, a WATER Fiend that can discard any other card to Special Summon itself as a Fiend to either side of the board with any other Attribute. If you do end up giving it to your opponent, you also get to Special Summon another Level 4 Fiend from your hand/GY. So not only is this an extender, but it also sets up your Whitebeard/Redbeard effects, and even Blackbeard, the Plunder Patroll Captain which can cheat out a PP Extra Deck Monster during either player’s turn. The second new card benefits from all the equipment of Fiends is Necroquip Princess. This Level 6 Fiend can be Special Summoned by sending a Fiend Monster Card and a monster equipped with a Monster Card to the GY. Once it’s on the field, it gives you a free draw each time a monster is sent from the hand to the GY as a cost. This works extremely well with PP cards as well, with all the discarding the theme does. Do these new cards push PP up to Tier One? Probably not, but it still adds a new dimension to the theme, letting sailing the high seas become really fun again!
