Strategic Summary:
Welcome back to another profile, this time re-covering the Dragonmaid theme in all of its glory, but this time they brought new Branded friends. The Dragonmaid archetype consists of various Dragonmaid servants, Chamber Dragonmaid, Parlor Dragonmaid, and Kitchen Dragonmaid, that upgrade into draconic versions of themselves when the Battle Phase begins. During the start of the Battle Phase, each Dragonmaid can return themselves to the hand to summon a Level 8 or a Level 7 or higher Dragonmaid from the hand or GY. Additionally, each carry an effect to increase consistency, such as Kitchen tutoring a monster or Chamber tutoring a Dragonmaid Spell/Trap. To highlight examples of the draconic versions, Dragonmaid Ernus can discard itself to Special Summon another Dragonmaid from the hand or Dragonmaid Lorpar can be discarded to shut down a face-up monster from activating its effects during the turn. Either way, the true power of this theme lies in the Fusions – Dragonmaid Shoeu boasts 3500 ATK and a powerful Negation effect that also brings out the second (and original) boss, House Dragonmaid. Between all the effects of this theme to return to hand or Special Summon, duels can really become a runaway as you snowball advantage.
Getting to that point though has always been the challenge for Dragonmaid decks in the past, and that’s where the Branded theme comes in. With a solid opening play of using Branded Fusion to unlock an early Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon, this deck has a disruption ready to go right off the bat. If you’re wondering how you make that initial Mirrorjade, that’s the point of running both Staysailor Romarin to Fusion Summon Albion the Branded Dragon, before it sends Neo-Spacian Twinkle Moss from the Extra Deck to the GY to use as Fusion material. Beyond that interaction, this deck can also use the leftover Albion to Fusion Summon Shoeu, since it is a Level 5 or higher Dragon, to pair with any other Dragonmaid monster. That’s also the other benefit to this combination – the Dragonmaid Fusion Spell, Dragonmaid Changeover, can also be used to Fusion Summon either Albion, Lubellion the Searing Dragon, or Alba-Lenatus the Abyss Dragon, since they are all dragons. Or you can turn to Borreload Furious Dragon for another powerful Dragon Fusion option. Either way, this deck combines the best of both worlds. Dust off your pretty Dragonmaid cards and see what happens when you introduce them to the new Albaz Structure Branded support!
