When equipped the Spell resembles Overlay Units so it’s a deliberate pun
Technically, we already had XYZ Summon in Rush Duels.

PS: The Spellcaster girl that has appeared in many Spell/Trap Cards has returned in Contactee Exceed, being one of the few cases of a recurring Monster in Artwork that has not been printed.
Rush had a couple monsters/spells with effects that’d reference the OG (A “ritual” spell for Black luster Soljersey and a “Rank up magic” for the baseball Utopics) but that’s probably all we’re gonna get. Yea we’re getting rituals proper now but like with Fusion it’s spelt differently (Ritual in english phonetics as opposed to Gishiki) and will also likely work differently

Well, at least the existence of Celebrand DJ confirms that we can get more Celeb Rose support outside of the seven Sevens Road’s replicas and some Fusion Monsters.
High Tech Dragon in the Anime has been pretty consistent in its support in focusing on or utilizing the two Main’s Boss Monsters to perform Effects.

My brother in Go rush just admit you don’t like YGO in general. All the complaints I’ve read from you actively applies to the main format as well but I don’t see you complaining about another waifu archetype under an OCG reveal post
