THAT’S WHAT YOU NOTICED? The cards don’t go back like the og hats they stay and because they’re spell/traps I suppose you can flip them when it’s back to your turn either Xyz with them or link with them

    9. N on February 12, 2026 11:44 pm

Some of these cards are actually useful in core DM and MoBC will be super strong due to numerous ways to summon it and constantly recover Spells (any)
Deck doesn’t even lock aside from Celtic

DM mainly if you wanted to be different could probobly use the old BLS stuff

    11. Pablod on February 12, 2026 11:52 pm

So… Does this make Dark Magician/BLS Tier 0 or is it just Nostalgia Bait?

It’s bizarre to see a Ritual Spell card in the OCG/TCG that can only Ritual Summon specific Monsters in 2026.

Some of these cards can definitely be used in DM, but this looks like a pretty damn good going 2nd otk deck from all of these dodging and banish and shuffles

      • NeoArcardiacarrest on February 13, 2026 12:31 am

Nostalgia bait. Currently the deck’s only good option is to resolve the silk hats quick play and pray u hit mystic box of chaos with the pop so u can do the bare minimum.
Even with a full gold sarc engine/ dark magician build (which both become hella bricky with those, even more than normal) u end on 3 to 4 interactions if u are lucky. Deck aint worth it

Are they now putting reprints in core sets? There’s no way they can shove 16 Traps here.

      • Narf on February 13, 2026 12:22 am

There is a chance that a trap archetype is either introduced or gets a bigger wave of support, which could explain the abnormally high number of traps.

      • NeoArcardiacarrest on February 13, 2026 12:28 am

Thats not how numbering works in sets.
Till we know where the last traps are its very unlikely.

Also reprints in core sets happen only in highest rarities (like assault mode stardust in starlight reprint in BPRO) or as a common.

Also ocg only numbers new releases,
Reprints are in the extra packs so no numbering.

    14. Ulysses on February 13, 2026 12:05 am

Since we alway have a Toon BLS I’m almost certain that we’re getting a Toon Magician of Black Chaos. And since BLS is getting new support hopefully that means Harpies will be getting new support soon since BLS debuted in the Mai duel from Duelist Kingdom.

Did not expect new Chaos Magicians considering we got “Dark Magician of Destruction” not long ago… But I am not complaining! Magician of Black Chaos is among my all time fave monsters! I am also happy they made a new Chaos Solider, I actually been hoping on it for a long time, it’s own deck has been struggling badly. I do wish Soldier of Light & Darkness was Light attribute however… would make for a better companion to the new Ritual Magician along with the fact Chaos decks don’t want to run earth mons.

Anyways, these cards are amazing! I can not wait to use them both online & collect the real cards too!

Celtic Guardian of the Graceful Charity!
Gurifoh is funny because they basically just moved the two dots that turns ‘f’ into ‘b’ onto the ‘k’ to make it a ‘g’
      クリボー
グリホー(it uses フォ which is ‘fo’, rather than ‘ho’, but fo isn’t naturally part of the traditional Japanese letters)

I like the design of the Ritual Monsters. They have simple effects that are self contained. BLS is pretty crazy. Can’t be destroyed by battle and basically can only be affected by targeting cards. They’re trying to promote battle it seems like with the amount of unaffected by opponent’s activated card effects.

Mystic Box and Magical Hat is a pretty cool combo. You can also use other cards that activate if destroyed by the opponent like Waking the Dragon for some extra fun. I hope there’s a Chaos Gaia as well.

Black Chaos Swordsman can be splashed into Dark Magician decks since they have easy access to Illusion of Chaos.

So, the new Archfiend makes Fiendsmith now bridge into Habakiri by dumping the Archfiend with Aerial Eater… Yeah, it’s about time Habakiri gets the axe I think.

If only we had this pack art style since series 11 then we could see the same handful of character over and over again! Welp, MobC is forced to share the spotlight even though Chaos Soldier already has 10x more variants. “Soldier of Light and Darkness” – Still no DARK chaos soldier, sigh. Weird to see neo new Mystic Box and Magical Silk Hats (that are more lore accurate in some ways) not mention/work with DM. Yes, there’s already been a glut of DM variants as of late but if this is the route konami wants then it feels incomplete without adding DM and Gaia. Not even the first time this has happened, dark magic mirror force can’t even be used if you JUST control regular DM! Unlike soldier, elf swordsman WAS allowed to get an attribute change, must have been trained by neo the magic swordsman and I’m sticking to that theory.

Good to see more answers to arbitrary non-targeting thought I’d rather not have the arbitrariness to begin with. I still think about how Magical Hats and tcg naming is the reason some cyberdark support specifies effect monsters. No need to repeat my ritual spiel from the MobC rush posts.

Shout out to Heraldic Beasts for ushering in a new era of Yu-Gi-Oh cards that reference card names that don’t exist. “Unknown”, “Fairy Prince”, and now “Chaos Hats”. I for one welcome all the weird jank that this opens the door for.

Since Black Chaos MAX will never get a reprint or show up in video games this is the first ritual effect variant of MobC that will have widespread availability. Would’ve been funny if Mind Shuffle negated all opponent’s card effects that included looking at your opponent’s hand, a missed opportunity.

I wish they were built-in with Dark Magician. Even if not fully integrated, just having them have a passing mention of “Dark Magician” would’ve done wonders for this archetype. Would’ve allowed for better consistency of plays, but now it’s kinda weird because you have to play it standalone and make due with just the usual generic ritual support.

Celtic Guardian got the Graceful Charity effect and Kuriboh is cosplaying as Griffore 😀

Besides that really cool to see all the other retrains Chaos Soldier, BLS, Summoned Skull Demon, Dark Magician of Chaos including classics like Mystic/Mystical Box and Magical Silk / Magical Hats.

The ritual looks like when Yugi fused Dark Magician with Joeys/Jounounchis Flame Swordsman against Big Five or Speed Fusion artwork from 5ds, gives me that vibe.

Mind Scan is funny cause Yami uses Mind Shuffle on Peagusus too.

The Celtic Sage card will be used in Exodia decks though. Draw 3 every turn, including your opponent’s turn, and the effect isn’t once per Duel. They are going to regret that lol

this honestly would have made a great 25th Anniversary set to release for DM. all of these cards are retrains themed around monsters used during Duelist Kingdom with Yugi’s strongest monsters being his rituals having some pretty neat retrains and Over Art designs.

Also love the homage to Dark Paladin with Chaos Magician and BLS having a card that looks like a fusion of them.

honestly with these cards plus the other Dark Magician support that ties it to BLS and Chaos cards, I’m curious to see how a deck would be made from them.
