Going into effect on Feb 5, 2018.
I’m joined by slifertheskydragon. We discuss the “fandom” aspects of the franchise, including fanart, cosplay and the effect that social media has had on Yu-Gi-Oh!. We tangent into some general discussion about the anime as well.
I’m joined by Joenen. After a brief interview, we discuss cross promotion in Yu-Gi-Oh!, particularly as it pertains to Duel Links. Some of this conversation is now outdated, with some recent changes to Duel Links. Regardless, I think it’s a still a good primer on the app for those that haven’t played it. I’m joined by Siliva, who runs a blog called ygoanimation, which covers quirks and issues throughout the various Yu-Gi-Oh! animes.
Our guest is voice actor Mike Pollock, who has had numerous roles in anime and video games, including some parts in the dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.
UDON released a book called “Art of the Cards”, which features full TCG card artworks of every released card featured in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (including Capsule Monsters but excluding the Pyramid of Light film). I had the opportunity to look through it. After the jump are my general thoughts on it.
After a bit of news, guest Decchan helps to unpack some of the intricacies behind how translation works and how difficult getting a name “correct” can actually be. We also talk VRAINs a bit more than we expected.
