“Check THIS out!”
Knightmare Corruptor Iblee & Beckoned by the World Chalice & Ningirsu the World Chalice Warrior
Full art:
Clothes:
Top: “Cloth. Flows with the wind normally”
Arms: “Left and right have the same design”
Job:
Beckoned: “Toss that away already, Ib!”
“Big brother working on the fields”
Illustrator’s comment:
“For convenience, I call all of them Ningirsu. At first, he was still ‘The Beckoned One’, and that already gave me a creepy feeling, but after being told ‘he’s meticulous, strong, and good looking, yet mentally unstable’, and ‘he might become an enemy’, plus with the design of the little sister being created at the same time, I had a pretty good guess where this was going. It’s the usual development, however, as I was working on the art for various themes in parallel, by the time I realized, Ningirsu had created so many things to deal with, that he was truly terrifying.”
TL note: The JP name for Beckoned by the World Chalice can be structured as “[The] One Beckoned by the World Chalice”, and the comment is omitting who’s doing the beckoning, hence why the name looks weird.
Longirsu, the Orcust Orchestrator:
Full art:
Eyes:
“Eyes of someone that will not forgive anyone or anything, not even himself”
Galatea, the Orcust Automaton:
Full art:
Front body:
Top: “The common parts in the chest have a lot of details, so I’m simplifying its shape”
Bottom: “Ib’s ribbon”
Hair:
“This is not hair, but soft plastic (like a figure)”
Lower body:
Left: “The inside is only visible from this side”
Right: “Drum roll”
Bottom right: “A reed from a clarinet or similar”
Dance:
“A mobility range beyond what’s humanly possible”
Illustrator’s comment:
“I wanted to preserve Ib’s thigh ribbon design no matter what, so for this one I got the OK to keep it as a pattern. I believe I did a good job in giving an artificial object an ominous and sorrowful aura. Galatea’s motif as an Orcust is a clarinet(s). I think Ningirsu, its creator, likely being a perfectionist, made sure that every part that is a musical instrument plays its sounds properly. Truly, a man to fear.”
Chosen by the World Chalice & Auram the World Chalice Blademaster & Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax
Full art:
Avramax’s shield:
“Floats, also doubles as a shield”
Sword:
“‘World Legacy Sword’, the key after integrating all the other legacies”
TL note: Just in case, the “World Legacy Sword” here is written as “Star Sword”, like all the other World Legacies (Star + Item). It may be yet another “World Legacy” name, or it may just be a fancy name for the sword.

Ah, World Chalice A.K.A Albaz Lore before it became popular.
I always found it curious that, despite being similar in ideas, Albaz Lore ended up being more popular/recognized than World Chalice Lore (and many claim that World Chalice is better written or more complex than the bizarre adventures of Albaz and Ecclesia)
Pretty much, especially the climax and aftermath that gives huge impacts and more memorable than Albaz in my opinion, especially who got left behind after Avram’s sacrifice
Albaz is popular because they have a deck that is actually playable, but the lore is not memorable. If I had to choose between Albaz and World Chalice, I would choose World Chalice because no one beat my bro Ningirsu and his love for his sister.
It’s because people find Albaz and Ecclesia more likable, as well as the world they inhabit and the conflict they go through. Plus everyone loves a “hero saves the girl” archetype of story. World Legacy is the OG for starting Konami’s ventures into more interesting storylines with named characters (than Duel Terminal anyhow) but there’s a reason why Konami chose to feature Albaz in the Chronicle video instead. There is more to stories than just “better writing” or “more complexity”.
also, World Chalice lore is somehow connected to the Duel Terminal, of probably a parallel universe to Duel Terminal World instead. The final form of Avramax, Avida, is considered a counterpart of both Sophia and Tierra.
That’s cos albaz had some good archetypes. Mekknights were a meme played with invoker, legency and kravlers were never good, crusadia was popular as a otk deck for a short period of time but other then orcrust – not many actually good archetypes. Besides the design of cards seems fine but nothing too crazy. Albaz/bystial/dogmatika had crazy good artwork and a lot of them were used competitively (albaz, dogmatika engine, sword soul, tri brigade, therion engine, spright, bysstials)
The Branded lore had more interesting elements involved in it. I also feel like there is more characterization going on. I love World Legacy, too, but I this no the Branded story is Yugioh Lore’s peak for a long running story over multiple sets.
love Ib showing her feet and toes in sandals always.

…you can play Galatea like clarinet by putting lips on her toes. Do what you want with this information.
Hoping for a world chalice rpg ripoff anyday
