Those are some nice Regenesis cards. If those monsters had names after their titles, I wonder what it would be.

*rolls eyes* they did, but were cut for the religious connotations

      • HFIL on April 15, 2025 12:45 pm

They had better names, but they were religious (I know, shocker, the religious archetype had religious names). Now they have some of the most uninspired names ever. Like, at least make a terrible pun out of them.

One of the most uninspired archetypes to ever curde the world. Hope a gust of wind blows away the decks of all that use them.

      • HFIL on April 15, 2025 12:52 pm

I honestly like them, but man those names suck. Really TCG? Not even a lame pun?

I’m shocked the genesis part of the name even stayed I was expecting a skyfang Brigade to fur hire like change. They could have went with like ReVival or ReBirth. We could have had ReBirth Birth

Lmfao obviously the secrets had to be some of the only cards that are played in playsets, gg Konami

Isnt this the strategy theyve been pulling for ages now?

Realease a set of cards for reasonable prices in japan, and then milk the absolute maximum out of those cards by using the worst strategys

      • Naransolongo_BB on April 15, 2025 6:20 pm

Konami west has always done this. Strikes me as having no faith in the game itself so they target the same few whales who they know will buy into whatever new tier 0 archetype is dropped.

    7. narf on April 15, 2025 1:58 pm

Japanese deciding to wipe away all traces of Jewish religion? As a German this sounds way too familiar and not in a good way.

its not japan doing this…its the west that is responsible for all the censorship to the cards, including name changes for worldwide release.

      • Giant Turtle Who Feeds On Dames on April 15, 2025 2:17 pm

Did you really just compare uninspired name localization to the actual Holocaust?

      • Yod on April 15, 2025 2:30 pm

Actually its not the west causing this, its Konami thinking that the west is doing that.

Look at digimon for example. They have a popular anime, and also a good tcg rn, and they have tons of religious and other kinds of references and even innuendos in there, and basically nobody complains.

At this point its just a “style” for Konami, where they know that nobody cares about the minute things they put into the cards, but people expect now that they censor their cards in stupid ways.
Just look at cards like monster reborn… they added the original artworks without a problem to the tcg, but sold them at a premium, and the only thing people were unhappy about was the price.
Or other things, who cares about a cartoonish bomb, or that a antrhopromorphic gun is looking in the direction of somebodys head?

lol are you serious right now? this comment section never ceases to amaze the everloving crap out of me

      • Mr. Bulbmin on April 15, 2025 6:08 pm

The TCG (American localization team) scrubbed away the names. Some EU regions/LatAM *might* restore the name references to the Torah, but the US is overly cautious about any explicit religious references. No crosses, no Stars of David, no pentagrams, hell we didn’t even get ankhs for the longest time in an Egyptian themed game.

    8. Frank on April 15, 2025 2:33 pm

The only interesting thing of this archetype were the aramaic names of the cards and they censor them.

Is there something actually preventing Konami from using Biblical terminology, or do they genuinely believe it will offend people?

Ironic they started to use the G word in English and yet removed the religious terms in this archetype and in english Rush Duel names

      • DrakeyC on April 15, 2025 7:55 pm

The latter. They’ve referred to God and Gods all the time throughout the series’ run all the way back to the star, along with Angels, Demons, etc. But they’re so used to instinctively censoring things for the West that they keep doing it.

It made sense in the 90s, when parent groups were rallying against stuff like D&D and Pokemon claiming they led kids to Satanism and gambling, but these days no one cares.

    10. Anon on April 15, 2025 4:23 pm

I expected the censorship and I’m still dissapointed at the sheer lack of effort on their part.

I wish they made an effort like they did with code to at least attempt to change them to something else. They took the extremely safe way out and made the monsters so dull.

    11. N on April 15, 2025 7:12 pm

Konami still operates the brand as if it is still in its early days and markets the game to 6 year olds, even though most players are in mid to late 20s.

They still market the game to youngsters. Why else would we have names for stuff like Goblin Bikers be, for example, “Goblin Bikers Gone Bonkers” instead of “Kick-Ass Goblin Bikers” (the latest Rank 6)? Besides, a good bit of the TCG market in the West still seems to cater towards younger people, so I suppose Konami does not want to loosen its share on the market and lure in parents of kid who were otherwise scalped by Pokemon scalpers.

    12. Johnnymacs18 on April 15, 2025 9:21 pm

When I saw the name of the archetype in the OCG I thought it was going to get completely changed. I could have seen them change it to like ReVival or something stupid like that.

bemidbar was a girl’s name and a politically charged message etc etc

they couldn’t even mangle the original names into something else to give them names? like how Curious is just Kyrios or Lacrima is Lacrimosa, Mechaba is Merkabah “localized”?

2 Secret Rares and 2 Ultra Rares based on the on stock images. the rest are common or super (I’m assuming the dragon and warrior are supers while is a common. Code has 50/50 chance of being super imo)
