Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features the return of the Power Patron archetype to my channel, this time empowered with their latest wave of support cards from Chaos Origins. If you missed my last take which combined the Power Patron Pendulum strategy with Orcust, be sure to check that out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJt1ey6to_w . This time around, I’m definitely honing in on more of a pure take, so let’s talk about what’s new. First up was the TCG-WP card from the last set, Shade the Obscure, which gives the Power Patron strategy another Scale-11 that also happens to setup your other effects by adding a Pendulum Monster from your Deck directly to your face-up Extra. Adding onto its potential, we’ve since added Theorealize Past Lull, a Normal Spell that summons Medius the Pure from hand/deck, Prohibitive Power Patron Purview – Vilaea, which insulates your Power Patrons from being responded to, and Power Patron Shade of the Final Hour, which gives you slightly more banish-based disruption. Finally, the Medius Lore themes also received their first Link monster in Purification Power Patron, a LINK-2 that can tutor a Theorealize card on summon, then also immediately Link Summon during either Main Phase.

Since all of these tools just add to the overall Power Patron toolbox, not too much has changed to the core strategy. As before, you can leverage Medius the Pure to get started, Nervedo the Shadebeast Power Patron to summon what you need from deck, Jupredo the Shademachine Power Patron to tutor your Power Patron S/Ts, and Vidolium the Unstable Power Patron of Unity to advance your plays and/or end a duel at will. However, I’ve taken this build in a stun direction by abusing a small Amorphage engine, and to be up-front, this is possible due to the power of Mercurium the Living Quicksilver. You see, this R10NK Xyz Monster attaches any monster from the deck as material, so you can attach Amorphage Sloth or Amorphage Goliath from deck. Then, either can be just a Charmer Quartet in Bloom away from being brought back from the GY and ready to stun the opponent. What makes this extremely deadly is if you add Amorphage Lechery to the mix, which can prevent either player from activating Spell Cards while you control the Amorphage. Together, that will lock most opponents out of the duel entirely, and all for just a small investment into your Deck that doesn’t really hurt too much of your overall consistency. Embrace all the Power Patrons with this lore deck, adapted for the real game!
