Oh my god, more capsules
So why can’t the buff option in the OCG/TCG to have this effect?
Option was an old card that benefited from being a free special summon from hand if you controlled the original. Konami most likely didn’t want 2 monsters that can potentially reach upwards of 3K on the field at the time.
Even in Rush the ATK gain is not permanent and only factors original ATK meaning it will almost always be 1200 ATK if we get more of them.
Why would Vic Viper full custom be made with Gradius and its options? They’re different ships.
No I just meant Option [Gradius’ Option]”l effect, not Full Customs.
Gradius was a localization fail. The name of the ship in the game is Vic Viper.
Gradius is the name of the Planet.
I suppose that, to differentiate itself from the OCG/TCG, Gradius in Rush Duels now has Contact Fusion (with the Level 4 monster with the highest ATK in all of Yu-Gi-Oh)
Something tells me we’ll get a couple more “Gradius” Monsters.
Looking at the Slots, there are still a lot of Effect Monsters to be revealed.
The Fusion seems a bit specific with its materials especially when fused in hand, telling me there will be monsters in the future that can be name treated as Gradius or Option on the field or in the hand.
The cards seem kinda weak.
Option fills your GY, but it is only compatible with Gradius and the Fusion – the latter of which needs 2 as material and their only recursion being tied to a card that needs you to give up a monster to do so.
Custom is too balanced to compensate for Option. 3 specifically named materials, even with Gauge and Capsule Red, is too steep a cost. And those effects are mediocre since it isn’t even name treated as Gradius om the field for Capsule Blue. It is also a Contact Fusion for a theme that simultaneously wants their monsters in the GY or on the bottom of the Deck. It’s kinda weird.
Red is integral to the Deck since it adds cards to hand and is needed for their built in Fusion.
Blue destroy up to Level 8 but you need Gradius on the field and it comes with a lock.
Gauge notably can recover any LIGHT Machine regardless of DEF, but for practical purposes it will only recur the Fusion or recover a material in hand. You must give up field advantage to do so.
