The Special Packs “LIMIT OVER COLLECTION -THE HEROES-” will go on sale February 28th and “LIMIT OVER COLLECTION -THE RIVALS-” will go on sale March 28th, featuring cards in the style and image of the heroes and rivals of the franchise!
These packs introduce “Overframe” Cards whose card design features illustrations exploding off the artwork frame, a brand new dazzling feature for the “Official Card Game”. And among “Overframe” Prismatic Secret Rare cards, there will be a super-limited number of cards with “Serial No.” on them!
Also many cards that first debuted in the various animated series will finally be brought to the “Official Card Game”, while a ton of reprinted cards will be included with brand new illustrations!

All Ultra and Super Rare Cards come in Secret Rare foiling or Prismatic Secret Rare foiling

Among the 80 cards, 18 of them come in the new “Overframe” Card Design.
Overframe cards are Ultra Rares or Prismatic Secret Rares

I’m wondering now if Konami has scrapped Animation Chronicles like they did with the Duelist packs. Maybe because of low sales of those sets if I had to guess.
Correct. May and June have been historically chronically weak months sales wise.
So I’m guess these are a mix between Animation Chronicles and the sets that give us old cards with new artworks.
Its not really Animation Chronicles since you’re not going to get an anime-only archetype like Armatos Legio or Drones here. It will be more like the Limited Pack GX -Osiris Red-, where they’ll just adapt one-offs.
There are 160 cards between the two packs though. Even if 75% of those cards are reprints, that still leaves 40 new anime cards which is way more than what the last few Animation Chronicles packs gave us. Plenty of room for archetypes.
@Paradigm: But the title of the 2 sets, Heroes and Rivals, heavily imply that the imported anime cards would be from the protagonists and the rivals from the anime.
I, don’t, give a (Blue-Eyes roar) if there are any new cards in this pack! Finally Finally whe are getting a main game equivalent of Pokémon’s Full Art cards
But we are getting new cards here too so that’s something to look forward to!

Ulysses if you gonna bring out non-yugioh cardgames we are going to be here forever listing al of them, many games already did it before pokémon too

I always had this headcanon that Gearfreed and Giltia were both squires serving under Gilford together as rivals before they became full knights and that history is why they can form the Gilti-Gearfreed fusion.
At this point i just want allegro toile and pure pupil, just so i can say i can replicate alexis full deck. The drunk monsters of gx would be nice too

I assumed the Ra and Obelisk packs would all come out this year. When that was clearly not going to be the case I tuned out card game news for the most part. Maybe this will be a return to normalcy.
