Draco the Marketable Mascot
Okay, that’s quite a lot of cards (13 for Luke’s Deck and 1 generic Dragon Monster)
And there, I see that several of these cards support different strategies related to Luke’s Deck.
– The Dragon Knight of Darkness-focused branch received an additional card.
– Draco the Tiny has his own dedicated Deck (which is complemented by other cards in Luke’s Deck)
– Rolling x Rolling claims that the Spell Card is a support for a Dragoncaster variant.
– You have a handful of Monsters focused on the High Dragon’s Gias Monsters strategy.
Additional information:
– As a Tiger, Luke received the power of Contact Fusion.
– Draco the Wounded is a continuation of the events of “Vengeful Dragon’s Counterattack” and has the super rare Effect of changing a card’s Requirement.
Rolling x Rolling seems just like a card that supports both Yuga’s and Luke’s Mascots (Straynge Cat series are also 0 ATK / 1400 DEF), Their blue rings being in the artwork too
You can argue that in Rolling x Rolling is meant to support with Straynge Cats (that has ATK 0/DEF 1400 in all of their monsters) alongside the new support for them.
Draco is mediocre to terrible, with the only decent ones being IF, The Draco, and Doctor.
The Draco and Fruit both prevent potential abuse, but it goes against Luke’s modern strategy of filling your GY with specifically named cards.
Pheptanix has a better requirement but you still need another monster on the field, and is only optimal if you revive The Draco with Fruit.
Dragon’s Hail is much better than before, being a stronger Return, and you can recycle a Fusion.
The new Wicked Dragon is bad. Doesn’t have the stat line for Shadowbringer, needs a Level 5 Dragon in the GY to pop a weak monster, and can optionally revive the original in your GY. It can be recovered with Wicked Dragon, but the payoff are too mediocre Fusions.
Rare Dragolite is amazing for the Deck, functioning as a Plasma for both Luke and Luug.
Rolling needs 2 specific stat line monsters in your hand at activation which is unfeasible even in its intended Decks. Both decks struggle with recovering to hand so you need to be lucky and hard draw into them.
Fadronir would have benefited from being a Trap, since you can only meet the requirement if your opponent activates a Trap that lets them draw on your turn. Only controls Level 8 or below too but permanently.
Overall a bad wave with only 4 cards worth writing home about.
Fadronir the Wicked is intended to be used with Fadronir the Pure
@N For being the guy who posts word salad for all the new Rush cards you sure did miss the very, VERY obvious and intended synergy.
Anyway I’ll add an Addendum to that. New Fadronir can fit into most lists that run the OG. Decks nowadays do run level 9+ boss monsters so it won’t break anything on it’s own, but stealing a level 8 body (and permanently at that) is still strong for the low price of two normal summons. Even without OG Fadronir it’s still a level 3 you can use to tribute climb.
The odds of you having both the new Fadronir and a card that forces your opponent to draw are still too low.
She’s more online than you think, but also there are other ways your opponent can draw during your turn. Some aggro lists like to play Curse of the Rising Light in the main deck, or your opponent could be the one fulfilling the requirement with traps like New Start and the newer Beauty Sleep, both of which are expected to get more popular because of Monarch.
That said, she does seem like she’d perform much better in environments where those scenarios are very common, so there will be formats where she’s not great, and others where the requirement doesn’t matter. For now, It might see play as a side card for decks that can’t easily main normal Fadronir or Curse.
